After the lecture, the leader asked me to go to the Principal's Office for tea.
I looked at him and asked, "Why?"
The leader looked back at me and replied, "The Principal wants to talk to you."
I asked him, "What if I refuse?"
The leader coldly answered, "You cannot refuse."
I smiled slightly at him.
"Alright, I'll go."
After saying goodbye to the leader, I turned and walked towards the Principal's Office.
Soon, I arrived at the Principal's Office.
After knocking on the door, a kind voice came from inside.
"Come in."
I pushed the door open and walked in.
The Principal was sitting at his desk, looking at me with a gentle expression.
"Come, have a seat."
I looked at him and asked, "Principal, what do you want to talk to me about?"
The Principal smiled and replied, "Nothing much, I just wanted to chat with you."
"Really?"
The Principal nodded and said, "Of course."
I coldly responded, "I don't believe you."
"Why don't you believe me?"
"If there’s really nothing going on, then why did you want to talk to me?"
The Principal looked at me and smiled slightly.
"You’re quite clever, aren’t you?"
"Don't flatter me; I can't handle it."
"Can't handle it? Why not?"
"I don't want to beat around the bush with you."
"What do you mean?"
"Just say what you have to say."
The Principal looked at me, remaining silent.
I stared back at him and asked, "What's wrong?"
The Principal looked at me and smiled slightly.
"Alright, since you put it that way, I'll be straightforward."
"Please go ahead."
"About the reserved admission spots, I know you're feeling uncomfortable about it."
"Don't feel uncomfortable; I'm already unqualified."
"Don't be angry. I know we handled this poorly."
"We?"
"Yes, we."
"Who are 'we'?"
"The Director of Education, the homeroom teacher, and myself."
"So what do you plan to do?"
The Principal looked at me and said with a smile, "That's why I called you here."
"What reason?"
"In a while, there will be a Seven School Joint Examination. If you can come in first place and bring glory to the school, then the reserved spot will be yours."
"And if I don't come in first?"
"Then we will consider it based on a comprehensive evaluation."
"How will you evaluate it?"
"We'll consider it from various aspects: morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics."
"In other words, it still depends on your mood."
"You could understand it that way."
"If I refuse?"
"You can refuse, but we also have the right not to grant you the recommendation."
"Are you threatening me?"
"You can interpret it that way."
I fell silent.
"What about it?"
"What about what?"
"Do you have confidence in coming in first?"
I looked at him and smiled slightly.
"Of course I do."
"Then just perform well."
"I will definitely perform well."
The Principal looked at me and nodded.
"Is there anything else?"
"Nothing else, you can go back now."
I looked at him and replied, "Okay."
I turned and walked towards the door.
Just a few steps in, the Principal called out to me.
"Wait a moment."
I stopped and turned to look at him.
"What is it?"
"I'll walk you out."
"Why?"
"For no particular reason, I just want to walk you out."
"Don't bother, I'm afraid it will shorten my life."
"You child, you're quite humorous."
"Don't flatter me, I can't handle it."
"You can handle it, you can handle it."
I ignored him and turned to walk towards the door.
After taking a few steps, he called out to me again.
"Wait a minute."
I stopped and turned to look at him.
"What now?"
"Do you really not need me to walk you out?"
"I really don't need it; I'm afraid it will shorten my life."
"You child, you're really humorous."
"Don't flatter me, I can't handle it."
"Is there anything else?"
"Nothing else, you can go back."
"Okay."
I turned and walked towards the door.
After taking a few steps, he called out to me again.
"Wait a minute."
I could no longer tolerate it and turned to glare at him.
"What now?"
The Principal looked at me and smiled, "You seem quite unhappy?"
I looked at him and coldly replied, "Of course I'm unhappy."
"Why?"
"Because you talk too much nonsense."
The Principal was taken aback.
I continued walking towards the door. After just a few steps, he called out to me again. "Wait a minute."
I couldn't hold back any longer and turned around, pointing my finger at his nose and shouting, "Are you done yet?"
The Principal looked at me without saying a word. I stared back at him and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to tell you that you dropped your pen here."
"My pen?"
The Principal nodded and replied, "Yes."
As he spoke, he picked up the pen from the desk and handed it to me.
"This pen is mine?"
"Yes."
"How can you prove it?"
"It has your signature on it."
"Let me see."
The Principal nodded and said, "Alright."
He handed the pen over to me. I took the pen and glanced at it. Sure enough, it was mine.
I looked at him and asked, "Is there anything else?"
The Principal smiled at me and said, "That's all, you can go back now."
I looked at him and replied, "Okay," then turned around and walked towards the door.
