"Alright."
Li Jing stood up, looked at me, and smiled, "I'm heading back now."
I nodded and watched her leave.
As she reached the door, she suddenly stopped, turned around, and looked at me.
"What's wrong?"
I asked in confusion.
Li Jing opened her mouth as if she had something to say, but in the end, she didn't say anything.
"It's nothing."
Li Jing smiled again and turned to leave.
"Sigh..."
I watched her figure fade away, feeling a bit helpless.
Such a wonderful girl, how did she end up with such a father?
The next morning, after buying groceries, I had just reached the entrance of the community when I suddenly saw a crowd gathered at the entrance of Property.
Curious, I moved closer and found a girl standing among the crowd.
It was Li Jing.
She stood there with a stack of papers in her hand, distributing them from door to door.
"Hello."
Li Jing walked up to me and handed me a piece of paper.
"What is this?"
I took the paper in confusion and looked down, instantly stunned.
It read: "Apology Letter."
I looked at Li Jing in surprise.
"I'm moving away."
Li Jing smiled as she looked at me.
"Moving away?"
I was taken aback for a moment.
"Yes."
Li Jing nodded and said, "My brother has been discharged from the hospital. I'm planning to take him back to our hometown for a while."
"Back to your hometown?"
I asked, puzzled.
Li Jing nodded again and said, "There are many relatives back home. I want my dad to go back and chat with those old men, play some chess. Maybe it will help him calm down a bit."
"This..."
I opened my mouth, feeling somewhat conflicted.
"I thought about it for a long time yesterday,"
Li Jing looked at me and said, "I think you're right; I shouldn't be so foolish."
I looked at her in surprise.
"I've already resigned from my job. Now I'm the only one in the family who can earn money."
Li Jing smiled and said, "So, I have to be strong."
"Mm."
I nodded, feeling a bit relieved.
"And..."
Li Jing hesitated for a moment and said softly, "I also don't want my dad to cause you any more trouble."
I smiled wryly, feeling somewhat helpless.
"So..."
Li Jing looked at me and smiled, "The reason I came this time is to apologize and to say goodbye."
"Goodbye?"
I was taken aback for a moment.
"Yes."
Li Jing nodded and said, "I'm leaving this afternoon."
"So soon?"
I exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes."
Li Jing nodded again and said, "I want to leave here as soon as possible."
I opened my mouth, feeling a sense of reluctance.
"I will miss you."
Li Jing looked at me with gentle eyes.
I was taken aback, feeling a bit moved inside.
"I'm leaving."
Li Jing smiled and turned to leave.
I watched her figure fade away, my heart filled with mixed emotions.
In the afternoon, Li Jing indeed moved away.
She, along with her mother and that mentally challenged brother, got into an old van and slowly drove out of the neighborhood.
The other neighbors and I stood by the window, watching them leave, and suddenly we cheered with joy.
"Great! That terrible neighbor is finally gone!"
"Yes, it's finally peaceful!"
"Let's set off some firecrackers to celebrate!"
Everyone excitedly ran downstairs, buying a bunch of firecrackers, which began to crackle at the entrance of the community.
I stood upstairs, watching the lively scene below, but my heart felt heavy.
With Li Jing's departure, we probably would never see each other again.
After all, we belonged to two different worlds.
She was an extraordinary girl about to take on the burden of her family and strive to live well.
And I was just an ordinary person, going to work and coming home every day, living my small life.
Perhaps this was fate's arrangement.
Some people are destined to meet but not to accompany each other.
After Li Jing left, my life returned to normalcy.
I continued my nine-to-five routine, occasionally going out with friends for gatherings and drinks.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, six months had passed.
One day, just as I was about to finish work, my phone suddenly rang.
