The referee announced the start of the match after seeing Bao Rui return. Bao Rui did not move but pointed a finger at Xie Siqi and said, "I'm giving you a chance for revenge. If I strike first, you won't have a chance."
Xie Siqi didn't need Bao Rui's invitation; with a shout, he charged forward. Every punch and kick was delivered with full force. The referee frowned, and the audience in the arena could see it too. Each of Xie Siqi's punches seemed aimed at injuring Bao Rui, prompting whispers among the spectators below:
"That kid named Xie Siqi is such a jerk; how can he go all out in a sparring match?"
"Exactly! I've never seen anyone fight like this in an Academy Competition."
The murmurs from the audience reached the ears of the teachers and students at Starlight Academy, sounding particularly harsh. Ding Dakai's expression darkened because he had specifically advised Xie Siqi before the match not to think about revenge and to focus on winning this first round for the honor of the academy. However, upon seeing Bao Rui, Xie Siqi lost his composure.
This was exactly what Bao Rui wanted to see. Although Xie Siqi was strong, he was still just an Apprentice Knight. Bao Rui, on the other hand, could defeat even ordinary Junior Knights; he had no reason to take Xie Siqi seriously. Bao Rui smiled slightly as he heard the audience's discussions.
At that moment, Xie Siqi threw a punch straight at Bao Rui's chest. The instant Xie Siqi's fist connected with Bao Rui, Bao Rui pushed off with his feet and leaped backward, landing flat on his back on the stage with a faint smile on his lips.

With great effort, Bao Rui covered his chest with one hand while pushing himself up from the ground with the other. He looked at Xie Siqi and said, "Xie Siqi, you're quite ruthless."
Seeing Bao Rui's expression, curses erupted from the audience again. Only Liu Guanfeng felt delighted inside: This kid really knows how to act.
Once standing up, Bao Rui quickly rushed in front of Xie Siqi and executed a sweeping kick. Xie Siqi was still trying to figure out why he hadn't hit Bao Rui when suddenly he felt the impact of Bao Rui's leg striking him down to the ground.
Xie Siqi quickly got back up, but as he did so, a fist appeared right in front of him and struck him squarely on the nose. Blood flowed from his nostrils as he covered his face with his hands. At that moment, Bao Rui delivered a well-placed kick to Xie Siqi's chest. With a cry, Xie Siqi was sent flying over three meters away.
After getting up again, Xie Siqi charged at Bao Rui like a madman. Bao Rui dodged swiftly; as Xie Siqi rushed past him, Bao Rui tripped him while simultaneously pushing against his back. Xie Siqi was running too fast and nearly went off the edge of the arena but managed to stop just in time.
Bao Rui followed closely behind and jumped up, delivering two kicks to Xie Siqi's back simultaneously. This knocked Xie Siqi off the arena; upon hitting the ground below with a thud, he lost consciousness.
Bao Rui's feet remained planted on Xie Siqi’s body without leaving it as they both fell off the arena together. When they landed, Xie Siqi lay on the grass mat below while Bao Rui stood on top of him.
The sound of impact was actually Xie Siqi’s bones cracking; only when he saw a doctor would anyone know how badly he was injured. However, Bao Rui was certain that it would be months before Xie Siqi fully recovered.
At this point, the referee walked to the center of the arena and looked down at what had happened below: "Due to both parties falling off the arena simultaneously, I declare this match a draw. Please have the next competitors come forward."
Bao Rui jumped down without even glancing at Xie Siqi, put on his gear again in the Arena, and walked over to Liu Guanfeng. Liu Guanfeng smiled at him and said, "I didn't expect you to act so well."
Bao Rui was relaxed and smiled back at Liu Guanfeng without saying anything. Liu Guanfeng brought XP to the Advanced Mount Competition Arena, where XP's opponent today was a Hippopotamus. The Hippopotamus's most common attack method was water balls, and due to its large mouth, the water balls it spat out were significantly larger than those of other Water Type beasts.
However, this posed little threat to XP. Utilizing its agility, XP closed in on the Hippopotamus and launched a fireball attack. The opposing contestant saw that his Hippopotamus was being suppressed by XP; not only could it not hit the opponent, but it was also getting hurt badly. Ultimately, he conceded defeat.
Liu Guanfeng advised XP to go easy on it, so the damage inflicted on the Hippopotamus was minimal. Moreover, magical beasts had a much stronger recovery ability than humans. After applying some medicine, the Hippopotamus was lively again.
The afternoon matches started at three o'clock as well. Liu Guanfeng was the first match of the day, and his opponent was also from Starlight Academy, named Zeng He. "Liu Guanfeng, your subordinate injured Xie Siqi; I’m here to avenge him."
"Avenge him? Have you woken up? You should take a look at your own strength; do you have what it takes? Let me tell you something: talking is useless. You say you won't die by my hand? If you want revenge, show me your true abilities."
"If I don't beat you to a pulp, I'm not human," Zeng He gritted his teeth at Liu Guanfeng.
Liu Guanfeng waved his hand dismissively. "Don't say that; if you're not human anymore, then I won't fight you. Who has time to spar with a magical beast? Besides, the wild boar's skin is too thick; it hurts my hands." Liu Guanfeng even made a pained expression.
At this moment, Zeng He’s eyes were blazing with fury and he was about to charge forward, but the referee had not yet announced the start of the match.
The referee stepped into the center of the Arena: "Both competitors ready? Begin."
As soon as the referee stepped back, Zeng He rushed towards Liu Guanfeng with a punch aimed directly at his face. Liu Guanfeng crossed his arms in front of his face to block Zeng He's punch. Then Zeng He charged again with a right hook that struck Liu Guanfeng's face. By now, Liu Guanfeng had already used Iron Skin Soup eight times; no matter how hard he got hit, he wouldn't feel much pain. After being punched, Liu Guanfeng's body turned right using the force of the blow while his hands moved involuntarily along with his body. His right hand accidentally delivered a counterpunch to Zeng He as they both spun around in the Arena.
It must be luck. Zeng He encouraged himself as he lifted his leg to kick Liu Guanfeng again. Liu Guanfeng crossed his arms in front of his face once more and fell backward. This time he fell directly to the ground while kicking out Zeng He's supporting leg. As a result, Zeng He ended up doing a split as he fell onto Liu Guanfeng’s body.
Liu Guanfeng smirked slyly and then clasped his hands together with his index and middle fingers raised against his abdomen while waiting for Zeng He's backside to arrive.
The audience below saw Zeng He kick Liu Guanfeng down, then immediately sit in a split on top of him. Following that, Zeng He bounced off Liu Guanfeng's body with a speed that others found hard to comprehend, and then he began to jump around on stage while holding his backside. The audience was puzzled as to why Zeng He was the one injured after knocking Liu Guanfeng down.
Liu Guanfeng looked at Zeng He and recalled how he had been teased as a child, clenching his buttocks tightly: "Hey, wild boar, what's wrong with you?" Liu Guanfeng asked knowingly.
Now, Zeng He couldn't say a word; all he could do was cover his backside with his hands. "If you won't hit me, then I will," Liu Guanfeng said as he walked over. He kicked Zeng He right in the rear, sending him flying off the arena, which was still over five meters away from the edge.
Liu Guanfeng then squatted down at the edge of the arena and looked at Zeng He below: "Wild boar down there, why did you go down? Didn't you just say you were going to take revenge on Xie Siqi? I told you, talking is useless; now do you believe me?" With that, Liu Guanfeng turned and left the arena.
Upon hearing Liu Guanfeng's words, Zeng He fainted on the spot—not from being hit but from anger.
After Liu Guanfeng finished his match, XP faced his strongest opponent in this round: a Fifth Tier beast, a crocodile. The opponent was a child from a medium-sized family and was currently studying at Meteor Academy. However, for XP, who was already Seventh Tier, this crocodile posed little threat.
XP used the Earth Wall Technique to trap the crocodile inside. The crocodile struggled hard to break through the earthen wall. Once it did, it was met with a Vine Cage. XP then cast a fireball from outside; the crocodile attempted to use Water Ball Technique to extinguish the flames, but XP's Seismic Technique made it impossible for the crocodile to aim properly.
After being roasted for a while, the crocodile on the opposite side collapsed on the ground, choking on smoke and unable to move. Its owner had no choice but to surrender.
Thus, XP entered the second stage with an undefeated record. Liu Guanfeng also achieved three wins out of three matches and secured his place in the second stage along with the last Seed Player. Copper Bull finished all matches with four wins out of four; Iron Bull had three wins out of three and also qualified for the second stage. Bao Rui also had four wins out of four.
By the end of the second day's competition, four out of five representatives from Rainfront Academy had guaranteed their advancement. Leihong had one win and two losses in Group One and was eliminated; Leihong's last match was against that group's Seed Player, leaving him with virtually no hope of advancing.
