Soon, Ma Sanbao fell beside a large pit and called for Leopard to stop, looking around. Feeling that there was nothing suspicious, he let Leopard move forward. Following closely, Leopard jumped and landed next to a roasted chicken.

Liu Guanfeng's Small Funnel was based on a method described in a story about stealing chickens that he heard while listening to Guo Degang's crosstalk. When chickens swallowed the small beans before the funnel, they also swallowed the entire funnel. When they realized they couldn't swallow the beans anymore, they tried to spit them out. However, since the opening at the back was larger, it got stuck in their esophagus and they couldn't expel it.
Thus, once a chicken swallowed a Small Funnel, it could only jump around helplessly because the funnel was still attached to a string. Liu Guanfeng slowly took an arrow from behind and nocked it on his bow. He carefully aimed while instructing XP to move around to the other side.

After securing three live turkeys, Liu Guanfeng found a sturdy branch to use as a carrying pole. He placed three live turkeys on one end and two dead ones on the other.
Turning back to tidy up three Small Funnels he had brought along and placing them properly again, Liu Guanfeng ensured everything was ready before shouldering the pole and heading towards his second placement point.
In this way, Liu Guanfeng and XP found all the locations where they had set up Small Funnels; each place yielded some results. Additionally, they found another gathering spot for turkeys where they managed to catch two more turkeys. After collecting everything from various locations, Liu Guanfeng ended up with eight turkeys in total: five alive and four already dead.
When Liu Guanfeng returned to the registration area with these catches, it was nearly noon. He handed over all of his live prey to Proctor and received thirty-one points in exchange. Placing two dead turkeys beside the examiner, Liu Guanfeng said: "Teacher, you've worked hard these past few days; these two turkeys are my humble tribute to you."
Proctor was taken aback. "Liu Guanfeng, this is your catch. Besides, you are still in the competition; how can I take your prey?"
Liu Guanfeng shook his head. "Teacher, I know my own abilities. I'm not short of these two turkeys, and as you can see, they are already dead. Liu Guanfeng also collected some fallen fruits from under the tree and placed them in the traps he had already dug before heading off with XP to find those turkeys and the Golden Rooster.
As soon as Liu Guanfeng arrived at the first location where he had released the Golden Rooster group, he noticed that the Golden Roosters seemed frantic as they ran around squawking wildly. Liu Guanfeng quickly crouched down and peeked out; he saw a group of Golden Roosters attacking a Grass Snake about two meters long.
At that moment, two Golden Roosters lay motionless on the ground beside the Grass Snake. The other Golden Roosters were desperately attacking it while it fought back continuously. The ones on either side were pecking at it; whenever the Grass Snake tried to escape, it was pecked back by the surrounding Golden Roosters.
Liu Guanfeng watched this exciting battle between chickens and snakes as all the Golden Roosters divided into four waves of attack—two waves targeting its head and two waves targeting its tail—making it difficult for the Grass Snake to defend itself as it gradually lost its strength to twist away. At this moment, Liu Guanfeng quickly signaled XP to charge out and pounce on one of the Golden Roosters. The other Golden Roosters scattered in all directions upon seeing XP emerge.
"XP, finish off that Grass Snake," Liu Guanfeng said as he looked at the Grass Snake that could barely move anymore. XP walked over and struck down on the Grass Snake's head with its paw. The Grass Snake that had intended to resist was instantly killed by XP's blow.
