The person who came was also known to him; this was Liu Guanfeng, the one who stood beside Ma Weiwu back at the Liu Family, known as Jia Yun, an Advanced Knight.
When the knight who ran back reported that the Fourth Prince had been beaten up on the street, he was extremely furious. After all, he was a man of the Crown Prince, and the Crown Prince had placed him beside the Fourth Prince to ensure his safety. However, very few dared to touch someone protected by an Advanced Knight, especially not the Fourth Prince. Therefore, every time the Fourth Prince went out seeking pleasure, he would always find a quiet place to cultivate alone.
But today, unexpectedly, the Fourth Prince had been beaten up in broad daylight, and even a group of guards had not been spared. This was a blatant slap in the face. Furious, Jia Yun immediately grabbed his two Great Axes and came looking for trouble. When the Fourth Prince saw his savior arrive, he immediately perked up.
Upon seeing the Fourth Prince, Jia Yun clasped his fists and bowed deeply: "I pay my respects to the Fourth Prince. It is my failure to protect you that has caused you distress; please forgive me." Although it was an apology, there was no trace of remorse on his face.
After all, an Advanced Knight is welcomed wherever they go. In some countries, an Advanced Knight's status is even higher than that of a prince and sometimes even higher than that of a crown prince. Therefore, Jia Yun felt no remorse over this matter; all he felt was resentment towards those who dared to strike a prince. If he truly knew who had done it, he would not have such thoughts.
The Fourth Prince waved his hand: "No need to blame yourself; as long as you can help me take revenge, I will hold nothing against you."
"Please wait here, Your Highness; I will lead my men to capture those people for you," Jia Yun said before preparing to turn and leave.
"General Jia, please wait." However, he was suddenly stopped by the Fourth Prince.
"What else does Your Highness wish to command?" Jia Yun turned back to look at Ren Xingyu.
"General Jia, may I accompany you? I want to see you take revenge for me," Ren Xingyu said.
Jia Yun hesitated: "This... I'm afraid that's not appropriate. If it comes to a real fight, I worry that Your Highness might get hurt."
Ren Xingyu shook his head: "It won't be a problem, General Jia. I will have my two Minor Generals protect me from the side while I keep my distance." In truth, Ren Xingyu was more concerned about Li Xiaohan and Wang Jiao; if this Little Guy Jia Yun who lacked appreciation for delicate beauty got too close to them, it would be a huge loss. However, since Jia Yun was still an Advanced Knight under the Crown Prince's command, Ren Xingyu did not want to offend him and thus lowered his stance and pleaded.
In the end, Jia Yun nodded in agreement: "That can work; I just hope Your Highness keeps your distance. After all, swords have no eyes; if you were injured, it would be difficult for me to bear the responsibility."
Seeing that Jia Yun had agreed, Ren Xingyu nodded: "I understand this; please rest assured and deal with those rascals."
Jia Yun led the Fourth Prince Ren Xingyu and his two Minor Generals out of Yifeng Courtyard. Outside Yifeng Courtyard stood more than thirty Fire Wolf Knights, who were of much better quality than those originally brought out by the Fourth Prince. The Fourth Prince had sixty Fire Wolf Knights in total; aside from arranging twenty to accompany him daily, the remaining forty were personally trained by Jia Yun.
Although they were all guards of the Fourth Prince, there was a significant difference in strength. However, the Fourth Prince still preferred his original twenty soldiers; he found these thirty or so new ones too rigid. After arriving here, Jia Yun immediately arranged for several knights to clear away the dead and dazed Fire Wolves from the street and sent three knights back home for recuperation.
Thus, Jia Yun led the remaining thirty knights along with the Fourth Prince and Ren Xingyu as they chased out through the west gate.
At this moment, although everyone knew that Liu Guanfeng had caused trouble, he did not take the Fourth Prince seriously, as he was openly teasing a respectable family. Moreover, he believed that the Fourth Prince would not be able to gather a large number of experts in a short time; their numbers would not be too many. By the time he managed to assemble an army, he would have already reached the Guardian Nation.
Thus, although they were hurrying, their pace was not very fast, as the group included someone like Platinum Wen, who was injured and could not move quickly.
Just around noon, Little Black suddenly said, "Xiaofeng, it seems like someone is chasing us from behind."
This was something Liu Guanfeng had anticipated: "Brother, how many people are there? What is their strength?"
"There are about forty of them, and their strength is average. The one leading is an Advanced Knight, along with two Intermediate Knights; the rest are Junior Knights." Little Black had clearly assessed the situation with his spiritual sense.
Liu Guanfeng felt confident in his own strength; even someone like Liu Yongmin, a mid-level Advanced Knight, was no match for him. What was there to fear?
"Brothers, let's stop for a moment; someone has come to see us off." Liu Guanfeng's words were heard by the others. The group of young men halted their mounts and turned to look in the direction of the approaching figures.
"Hai Tao, Ayang, if a fight breaks out later, you two should not participate. Your task is to protect Xiaohan, Wang Jiao, and Platinum Wen. Leave the rest to us," Liu Guanfeng instructed.
After saying this, Liu Guanfeng dismounted from his mount and helped Li Xiaohan down. Wang Jiao also jumped off Bao Rui's Fire Wolf. With Song Haitao and Du Zhenyang assisting him, Platinum Wen got off from Xu Ping's back. Song Haitao and Du Zhenyang dismounted as well and stood beside their mounts to shield Li Xiaohan, Wang Jiao, and Platinum Wen behind them.
At this moment, Liu Guanfeng and the others noticed the dust rising in the distance. Liu Guanfeng secretly admired Little Black's powerful spiritual sense; even from such a distance, he could detect their opponents and assess their strength clearly. The bloodline of a divine beast was indeed remarkable.
Liu Guanfeng, Copper Bull, Iron Bull, Bao Rui, and the other five held their crafted weapons tightly in hand as they quietly awaited the arrival of their foes. Everyone understood that today's battle could very well lead to killing. This would be their first experience with murder, so it was natural for them to feel some tension.
Among the five people, only Dai appeared not nervous but rather slightly excited. Liu Guanfeng thought to himself as he observed Dai's expression: this kid would surely grow up to be a cold-blooded killer; he was truly good material for an assassin.
Jia Yun led a group of Fire Wolf Knights and stopped about twenty meters away from Liu Guanfeng and his companions. Upon seeing them clearly, Jia Yun laughed heartily: "What a coincidence! I didn't expect to run into you here. It seems your luck has run out; if I can catch you, then your father will be caught too. This is just your fate—accept it."
When Liu Guanfeng saw Jia Yun, he felt a surge of hatred and tightened his grip on his Twin Iron Halberds. Iron Bull also gripped his Twin Blades tightly upon seeing Jia Yun and prepared to charge at him but was stopped by Liu Guanfeng:
"Iron Bull, hold on; this person is mine." Liu Guanfeng's words restrained Iron Bull.
At that moment, Jia Yun spoke again: "Kid from the Liu Family, if you surrender now, I might consider letting our Fourth Prince spare your life and that of your companions. If you choose to resist, I can't guarantee that my axes won't harm you." As he finished speaking, Jia Yun clashed his axes together in mid-air.
In response, Liu Guanfeng smiled slightly: "General Jia, you left quite an impression on me back at our Liu Family; I haven't had the chance to repay you yet. Since we meet here today, let me return this favor by leaving you with a complete corpse."
A few words from Liu Guanfeng ignited Jia Yun's anger, and he shouted to the group of Fire Wolf Knights behind him, "Charge! Take down those traitors, regardless of life or death."
At this moment, realizing that things could not be resolved peacefully, Liu Guanfeng spoke to Bao Rui and a few others, "Leave no one alive except for the Fourth Prince. Annihilate them all right here. As for Jia Yun, I will handle him. The rest of you can act as you see fit. XP, you can move freely, but keep an eye on the back and make sure Song Haitao and the others don't get into trouble."
XP nodded at Liu Guanfeng, saying, "Don't worry, Master. I guarantee the safety of the Mistress with my life."
Liu Guanfeng thought to himself: This Little Guy is quite sensible now.
Both sides launched a short-distance charge. Liu Guanfeng was accompanied by the Five Boys, each wielding different weapons: Twin Iron Halberds, Double Hammers, Twin Swords, Twin Blades, and a Soft Sword. On the opposite side charged over thirty Fire Wolf Knights. At this moment, Jia Yun was standing at the back of his team, observing the enemy formation. All thirty Fire Wolf Knights wielded weapons similar to Jia Yun's, and they were very curious when they saw the five different types of weapons held by the Five Boys since they had never encountered such weapons in Knight's Continent.
However, this did not affect the confrontation between the two groups. The twenty-meter distance was covered in just a few seconds due to the speed of the beasts. Although it was only a short distance of twenty meters, Liu Guanfeng's Little Black was the fastest and charged to the front. Behind him were Bao Rui and Copper Bull, while Iron Bull and Dai brought up the rear.
Due to their different mount speeds, they unconsciously formed a common charging formation used in military tactics. Liu Guanfeng pierced through the enemy ranks like a sharp blade, swinging his Twin Halberds to slash left and right. Behind him, Bao Rui and Copper Bull followed up with secondary attacks while Iron Bull and Dai filled in any gaps.
After both sides crossed paths, six corpses were left behind Liu Guanfeng and his companions. Just as the Fire Wolf Knights were about to turn around and charge back, they saw a flash of White Shadow where Liu Guanfeng had been standing moments before. Following that came screams of "Ah! Ah!"
By the time the Fire Wolf Knights reacted, two more corpses lay on the ground. Meanwhile, after Liu Guanfeng and the Five Boys charged through, Bao Rui, Copper Bull, Iron Bull, and Dai turned their mounts around and took advantage of the chaos caused by XP's ambush to charge back into the Fire Wolf Knights' ranks, igniting a chaotic battle.
The first to charge out again was Liu Guanfeng who did not stop his mount; he rode Little Black directly towards Jia Yun who was seated on his Seventh-Grade Mount, the Magma Giant Bear. Seeing Liu Guanfeng charging towards him made Jia Yun smile slightly as he said to the Fourth Prince nearby, "Fourth Prince, please move away; be careful not to get hurt." After speaking, he swung his dual axes to meet Liu Guanfeng's twin iron halberds.
Jia Yun possessed fire attributes; thus his two axes glowed with red light. Liu Guanfeng had already known about Jia Yun's fire attribute during their previous encounters when Jia Yun had difficulty. Therefore, he infused his Twin Halberds with four times enhanced water attributes. The blue Twin Halberds wrapped in two silver lightning bolts smashed towards Jia Yun's head.
