While Liu Guanfeng was talking to XP, a sound of footsteps approached from a distance.
"XP, tell Yuru to get ready; we are about to change shifts."
"Be careful, Master."
After half a minute, Liu Guanfeng saw a group of thirty people lazily walking towards him. It was clear that none of them were fully awake, as they swayed while walking.
One of the team leaders was chatting with the deputy leader beside him: "Old Zhang, what do you think is going on? I thought we had a great victory at the Gates of Hell, but who knew the New World would rise up at this time? I heard seven villages have been captured by them. Damn it, with them coming in, I won't be able to get a stable sleep."

That person shouted towards the city gate and then another thirty people slowly walked out from inside.
"Lazy Cat, this is left to you brothers; I'm taking my men back to sleep now. Brothers, let's go." With that, he grabbed his weapon and jogged away from the city gate.
The captain known as Lazy Cat looked at the disappearing team and said, "Damn it, I didn't know I wasn't awake yet."
He then glanced at his subordinates and said, "Alright, alright, everyone stay alert. We just need to hold on for one more hour."
The recently appointed vice-captain said, "Captain, why don't you rest inside the city gate? I'll handle things out here."
The captain patted his shoulder and replied, "Thanks for your hard work, brother."
"Big brother, it's nothing. It's what brothers should do. You go inside now."
After saying that, the captain walked into the city gate, and the other thirty people slowly made their way to the gate entrance. Liu Guanfeng knew that these people had just arrived and were still drowsy, making it the perfect opportunity to strike. He first reached the wall at the city gate. Seeing that Liu Guanfeng had already begun to act, the two squad leaders from Team One and Team Two emerged from their hiding spots, followed closely by twenty guards from both teams.

Suddenly, the entire entrance was illuminated by flashes of lightning. The thirty people inside were caught off guard by the sudden brightness; it came quickly and disappeared just as fast. As soon as the light faded, twenty guards led by the two squad leaders charged into the city gate.
Liu Guanfeng then told Little Black, "Brother, let's hold this staircase; reinforcements are coming down from above."
At this point, sounds from the entrance echoed far away. Hearing that something was happening at the gate, soldiers patrolling and stationed on the walls rushed towards it but were blocked by Liu Guanfeng and Little Black.
Within three minutes, the battle at the city gate concluded, and the noise attracted a large number of Patrol Soldiers. A squad of City Defense Soldiers was seen gathering towards the East Gate.
Just as the Patrol Soldiers arrived at the street corner, crossbow bolts shot out from an unknown location, instantly claiming the lives of several soldiers. The captain shouted, "Not good, they have an ambush. Someone shoot arrows towards the high ground around us."
The City Defense Soldiers quickly took down their bows and began shooting arrows in all directions. Fortunately, the guards from the New World were well-hidden and had not been spotted by the enemy. After two rounds of shooting, several more groups arrived at the street corner.
Upon hearing that there was no sound of fighting at the city gate, one captain said to the other captains, "There is no fighting at the city gate; it has fallen. We must rush in and take back the gate. If we let them open it wide, it will be troublesome."
The captains began organizing their men to charge inside, but before they could take a few steps, they were shot back by crossbow bolts from the opposite side. Thus, while suppressing with bows and arrows, they arranged for a charge.
This time, there was no counterattack from the crossbows as before. The captains secretly rejoiced at their effective tactics. In reality, they did not know that the guards from the New World had a limited number of crossbow bolts. With their arrows suppressing the enemy, Golden Mad Eagle signaled his men to abandon the crossbows and engage in close combat. After the battle at the city gate concluded, Liu Guanfeng ordered, "Team One open the gate; Team Two go help secure the street corner. The stairs are sufficient for just the two of us."
Upon hearing Liu Guanfeng's command, Team Two's captain shouted to his subordinates, "Brothers, follow me! We must hold off reinforcements; our brothers are just outside the city."
At this moment, Liu Guanfeng contacted xp outside: "We have taken control of the city gate; let Yuru bring people over. The gate will be opened soon."

After XP responded, a loud sound of battle cries came from outside the city. Due to the late hour, the shouts echoed far and wide, causing the expressions of several captains at the interface to change dramatically. One captain shouted, "Not good! There are reinforcements outside; we need to reclaim the city gate quickly."
Upon hearing the battle cries from outside, a voice came from a distant street corner: "Brothers! The city gate is in danger; everyone hurry!"
This voice was also heard by Liu Guanfeng, who recognized it as General Han from the City Defense Army. Since it was General Han's responsibility that night, he received news of an attack on the East Gate immediately. He quickly gathered his men and headed straight for the East Gate. He urged his subordinates to run faster. As they reached the street corner, he saw his men engaged in combat with a group of individuals wearing leather armor. Although his side had more people, they were not gaining any advantage; rather, the enemy was managing to fight back against three or four soldiers at once.
Where did this strong group come from? Shocked and without time to think further, General Han drew his mount and brandished his greatsword as he charged into the fray.
At this point, a group of warriors had managed to open the heavy city gate. The thick door creaked ominously as it swung open with a series of sounds: "Creak... Creak... Bang!" With ten people working together, the heavy gate finally gave way.
As soon as the gate opened, a gray figure rushed in. The newcomer held a iron rod tightly and spotted General Han at the street corner. With a swift motion, he spurred his Wind Wolf forward, creating small whirlwinds beneath its feet that propelled him toward the street corner.
The first one to rush in was none other than Cui Zhongyi, who had been assigned by Liu Guanfeng to stay close to Zhang Yuru. At this moment, Cui Zhongyi had reached the street corner and immediately spotted General Han engaged in battle with Golden Mad Eagle. Golden Mad Eagle was relying on his sturdy leather armor to resist but was only able to endure passive attacks; if it weren't for his armor's durability, he would have been defeated long ago.
Seeing this, Cui Zhongyi raised his iron rod and pointed at General Han: "Don't harm my brothers; you will pay with your life!" With that, Cui Zhongyi charged forward and engaged General Han in combat.
Meanwhile, a large group of troops surged into Winter City. Some soldiers took over Liu Guanfeng's and Little Black's duties to fend off the defenders descending from the walls. Liu Guanfeng then descended from the wall just as Zhang Yuru rode in on her Xuan Turtle accompanied by XP.
Liu Guanfeng approached Zhang Yuru. Upon seeing Liu Guanfeng's face, Zhang Yuru was startled; she had never seen such a face before. However, XP immediately rushed over to Liu Guanfeng and began rubbing against his legs.
At this moment, Zhang Yuru realized that this person was Liu Guanfeng. She stepped down from the Xuan Turtle and stood beside Liu Guanfeng. "Thank you for your hard work. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to capture Winter City so smoothly."
Liu Guanfeng smiled slightly. "The rest will be simple. With Brother Cui helping you, it won't take long to reach the Lord's Mansion. There's nothing more for me to do here."
Hearing Liu Guanfeng say this, Zhang Yuru anxiously grabbed his sleeve. "Are you really leaving?"
"There's nothing for me to do here. What else should I stay for?"
"Can't you stay by my side to help me?"

When Liu Guanfeng referred to her as Mistress, he stole a glance at Zhang Yuru, who was simply looking down. Liu Guanfeng felt a sense of beauty in that moment and quickly mounted Little Black. After Liu Guanfeng got on, Little Black galloped away from Winter City through the East Gate.
