"Just a cricket, Bismarck. Sister, you are the perfect lady; how could you possibly compare to that tomboy?" Saratoga scoffed.
In Sister-in-law's eyes, a woman should embody femininity—qualities like gentleness and virtue are what make a good woman. Someone like Bismarck, who is stern and serious, with a constantly fierce expression, simply does not qualify as a woman, let alone be compared to her sister.
"Why are you following Hood's example?"
Back at the Naval Base, for some well-known reasons, Hood and Bismarck had never gotten along well. Bismarck was fine; she was not one to stir up trouble. As for Hood, well! She hardly acknowledged Bismarck in person but often referred to "Cricket Bismarck" behind her back. Whenever someone mentioned Bismarck, she would start the discussion with "Cricket Bismarck."
"It’s true; in the history of the Old World, Bismarck sank Hood through a surprise attack. What else could she be but a cricket?"
Saratoga spoke with her eyes wide open, telling lies. Although Old World battleships were not equivalent to Fleet Girls and their grievances shouldn't be forced onto Fleet Girls, Saratoga still felt closer to the Allied Hood than to the Axis Bismarck.
The more important reason was that at the previous Naval Base, compared to Hood, who often suffered inexplicable defeats at 1-4, Bismarck, as a flagship killer, received much more favor from the Admiral. This meant that once both returned to the Naval Base, Bismarck posed a far greater threat than Hood. Thus, Saratoga deliberately criticized Bismarck while praising Hood. In short, aside from her sister, any Fleet Girl who had designs on Chuyang was considered an imaginary enemy by Sister-in-law.
"What do you mean 'it's true'? Those are just the histories of the Old World; we are Fleet Girls. The two cannot be conflated. If we follow your reasoning, we should be at odds with the Japanese Fleet Girls. But during our long time at the Naval Base, didn’t we all coexist peacefully?"
Lexington admonished her sister. However, deep down, she still held some reservations about the Japanese Fleet Girls. But since they were all at the same Naval Base, for the sake of harmony there were some thoughts better left unspoken.
"Coexist peacefully? Hmph!" Saratoga sneered. "Sister, I think that's just your perspective! Akagi certainly doesn’t think so. You should know that the First Carrier Division has been eyeing the Aircraft Carrier position in the main fleet since our time at the Naval Base. This is precisely how people can seem harmless while harboring malicious intent."
"Alright, alright, you always have so much to say. Let's get serious." Lexington pinched her sister's cheek and said, "Bismarck and Tirpitz are hard to find because they are always on the move. Even if we want to look for them, we are powerless. But what about Enterprise? Is she waiting for your brother-in-law to come back, or..."
Enterprise is in Rongcheng, as Bluefin Tuna and Shooting Fish mentioned. Compared to Bismarck, the two Lolis encountered Enterprise a bit earlier. During these years, when things got tough and they were struggling to make ends meet, they occasionally went to Enterprise's place to eat, drink, stay over, and get some pocket money. In short, for the two Submarine Lolis, Enterprise was like an automatic teller machine.
About three months ago, they had gone to stay with Enterprise for a while. So unless something major happened, she should still be in Rongcheng.
"I'm not waiting; I'm setting off for Rongcheng tomorrow to bring Enterprise back," Saratoga declared firmly.
With less than a month until the New Year, her brother-in-law would definitely return before Spring Festival. If he heard this news and insisted on going to find Enterprise immediately, what would she do?
Her brother-in-law wasn't with them at Naval Base during New Year's Day, and she didn't want to spend Spring Festival—a time for family reunions—alone at a desolate Naval Base. That would be unbearable. Therefore, Saratoga wanted to find Enterprise before the Spring Festival.
"But sister, you've been in Rongcheng for so long and have never run into Enterprise. Were you like our Tirpitz at Naval Base back then, just staying home all day sleeping and not going out?"
Not every Tirpitz in this world is a homebody. Saratoga remembered that shortly after leaving Naval Base, she had encountered a Tirpitz who gave her a strong impression of being a hardened soldier, much like Bismarck. Compared to their lazy North Residence, it was like night and day.
"I've never run into her."
Lexington shook her head helplessly; even she found it somewhat unbelievable. They had lived in the same city for so long yet had never met once. The connections between people can be quite unpredictable. However, upon further reflection, Lexington felt somewhat relieved.
Although they were both Fleet Girls, both she and Enterprise had deliberately concealed their true identities and hadn't truly integrated into the Fleet Girls circle in Rongcheng. Plus, with Rongcheng being so large and its population so vast, it was entirely normal not to run into each other.
"Sister, how did Enterprise end up becoming a teacher? From what Shooting Fish said, it seems she's already become a professor! Isn't she leading students astray?" Saratoga teased.
The Enterprise arrived at the Naval Base quite late, and by that time, everyone had not received any orders for a long time, not even for expeditions or similar missions. Nevertheless, dressed in a white naval uniform, Enterprise still exuded the aura of a professional soldier, completely detached from any intellectual demeanor.
If Enterprise were to become a powerful businesswoman or a political leader, Saratoga would have no doubts. However, if she were to go teach at Rongcheng University and even become a professor, Saratoga would have to question whether it was a legitimate university or if the president of Rongcheng University was simply attracted to Enterprise's beauty, harboring some ulterior motive.
"You can be a Kindergarten Teacher, so why can't Enterprise be a professor?" Lexington showed no mercy towards her sister.
"Sis, I'm your sister; can you not belittle me like this?"
"If you weren't my sister, I wouldn't even bother talking to you!"
...
"Jaja, what are you doing?"
"Punishing you on behalf of my brother-in-law."
