"Flop!" I slid down the winding passage until I felt dizzy, and then suddenly, my body felt light as I was thrown out.
It was as if I had fallen into water, feeling damp all over. I struggled to swim upward, flailing for a while before I sensed that I was getting closer to the surface.
"Ha!" I almost suffocated.
The moment I poked my head out, I was completely stunned.
"Hello, heh heh," I said awkwardly.
I realized I was quite unlucky because I had ended up in the monster's pool. It was entirely made of liquid, with two large eyes floating on the surface.
"I-I accidentally opened the wrong door and got lost," I continued to play dumb.
"I don't even know how I ended up here. Why don't you just continue resting?"
I immediately tried to leave the pool, but no matter what, I couldn't pull my body out; it felt stuck. My hands and body were covered in green slime, and I couldn't lift myself at all.
I was anxious on my end, but the monster seemed completely unresponsive and made no movements. So, I painstakingly managed to free one hand and cautiously waved it in front of those eyes.
No movement?!
I shook my hand again.
Still no movement?!
At that moment, I suddenly noticed that the green liquid in the pool had turned slightly pink. It seemed that the month was almost up; this monster was due for a meal.
But what was going on with its current state?
Feeling a surge of excitement, perhaps now was my chance! I had encountered this monster in its weakest state!
I paddled vigorously toward the center of the pool, yes, I aimed for the space between those two eyes.
“Rift Sky Seal, give me—break!”
Success or failure hinged on this one strike, and I poured all my strength into it. The worst outcome would be angering this creature, which could instantly swallow me whole. However, if I won, I could escape!
The liquid in the pool Swiftly churned, swirling like a vortex, spinning me around continuously. It was getting faster and faster!
“Boom!”
The pool exploded, liquid splattering everywhere, and I was thrown out.
I grabbed the doorknob to get up, shaking off the slime on my body. Just as I steadied myself, the door suddenly swung open from the outside and slammed into me!
It was none other than that group of eyes.
“How’s it going? Your boss has already been killed by me.” I looked disdainfully at those eyes. Now that the monster was dead, they posed no threat to me.
All the eyes suddenly dimmed, drifting slowly as if they were devoid of consciousness; some even crashed into walls and vanished.
Surely they wouldn’t be so loyal to their master…
But something felt off; why were they looking at me with Pity?
Suddenly, a chill ran down my spine…
“You, very good.” A cold voice came from behind me, laced with a hint of gritted teeth.
I was doomed; I sighed inwardly. I knew that voice all too well—the monster had revived!
I turned around, and the slime that had splattered everywhere was gone; it had all reassembled. The monster appeared before me once again.
"I originally wanted to give you a small chance to escape."
"Hmph, since I'm already Undead, I don't care!" Gritting my teeth, it was useless to be afraid; I couldn't defeat this monster anyway!
"Hahahaha, is that so? Then come into my belly."
As he spoke, the monster opened its wide mouth, instantly resembling a black hole that sucked me and the eyes behind me inside.
The stench filled my surroundings in an instant, and those eyes quickly melted away. Everything went dark before my eyes, and I could see nothing.
"Xi Meng, don't be afraid."
"Xiao Yin?" I seemed to hear Xiao Yin's voice.
"It's me."
"What should I do? I'm inside that monster's belly right now."
"It's okay, I'm here with you."
"How do I get out?!"
"No, we don't need to get out."
"What?!"
"Do you know what this monster is?"
"I don't know." Could it have some kind of origin?
"Just relax your body; I'll take you away."
I listened to Xiao Yin's words, relaxing my entire body and allowing him to control me.
"Xi Meng, do you know about hell?"
"Hell? You mean the Underworld?"
"Maybe. We're about to enter the lowest realm of the three worlds—hell."
"Are you joking, Xiao Yin?!"
"No, this monster is called Sky-Opening. I've been waiting for this opportunity."
"But why do we have to go to hell?"
"Don't you want to be revived? That's where we need to go."
"Xiao Yin—will hell be very scary?"
"Are you afraid?"
"No, never mind, let's go."
Actually, I wanted to ask if we could save Hanako in hell... but I didn't dare to speak up, hoping that the greater the disappointment, the less it would hurt.
