"Moon—"
"You've come."
Finally understanding a word, a glance spans a millennium.
Suddenly, I didn't know how to face him, this person I liked but was destined to have no future with.
"Do you remember what I said?"
Which sentence? I remember every single one.
"I said that if you didn't find me in this game, it would be expected." Silver Moon sighed.
In an instant, all my grievances and sadness surged within me, and I clenched my fists, trying hard to endure.
"But I never expected that you would actually find me." Silver Moon breathed a sigh of relief, his tone much lighter, revealing a hint of happiness.
I lowered my head, looking at the ring that Silver Moon had left behind before he departed. Its color had long faded; I had never had the courage to observe its change.
"You have me in your heart."
When Silver Moon uttered those five words, I could no longer suppress the bitterness within me. I cried out loud and ran to him, tightly embracing his cool body.
It was my fault; I should have done this long ago. This way, there would be fewer regrets. At least when I think back on it in the future, I can smile and say that I was once so happy.
"Shh, don't cry. At least not now. Isn't this a rare moment?" Silver Moon gently stroked my long hair and spoke softly.
At that moment, it seemed as if everything had come to a standstill. I didn't want anything else. The gentle breeze stirred, black and silver strands of hair intertwined, creating a rare warmth. However, I heard another meaning: cherish the present; when that day comes, it will be farewell. It turned out he knew too; he knew everything.
"When the day comes that I say I'm sorry to you, then you can shed tears... you can forget me—"
I didn't want to say anything; even less did I want to argue childishly. I just wanted to quietly stay with Silver Moon for a while and remember this feeling.
“Congratulations, little girl, you have gained our recognition,” said the Goddess of Fate.
“Thank you,” Silver Moon expressed on my behalf.
“Moon, this is also your time of rebirth, so forget the past and fulfill your mission.”
“Yes,” Silver Moon replied respectfully.
“The Dark Stone and Killing Intent are always too heavy; it will take some time for you to fully merge.”
“We will go there first, and after you completely merge with the Dark Stone, we will regroup,” said Anti-Sky.
Silver Moon pondered for a moment, her gaze never leaving me, and nodded, “Alright, let’s do that. Take care of yourself.” The latter part was directed at me.
“Are we separating again?” I asked.
“What? Can’t bear to part? Hehe, it won’t be long before I return to the team,” Silver Moon laughed.
“Who can’t bear it?” I muttered softly as I turned to leave.
“Hey, are you sure you’re just going to walk away like that?” Silver Moon said, pausing before continuing, “Don’t you have anything you want to ask?”
“I do,” I turned back around.
“Go ahead; we’ll wait for you here,” Anti-Sky smiled, stepping aside to give us space for a private conversation.
Without hesitation, Silver Moon took my hand and led me toward a door. When she opened it, it revealed a garden designed in an exceptionally luxurious manner.
As we strolled through it, my heart remained tense; I had many questions.
“Since we’ve come this far, do you know everything about me?” Silver Moon asked first.
"Yes." I nodded.
"So, are you afraid? Of me, this anomaly, this being that isn't even a creature."
"No, not at all!" I replied a bit too eagerly, which amused Silver Moon.
"I know you won't be afraid of me—"
"Because you would never hurt me." I softly added.
Silver Moon paused for a moment, then a fleeting smile appeared on his face. I swear no one could smile as beautifully as he did. Why hadn't I noticed it before?
"What do you want to ask?"
I hesitated about whether to voice my thoughts.
"Go on, I've noticed you have something to say." Silver Moon encouraged.
"I want to ask about the Wild Ghost."
Silver Moon didn't react much and quietly listened to me speak.
"What about the Wild Ghost?"
"What is he exactly? I just feel something is off about him; he's different from us."
"Heh, look at you saying that. Of course we're all different, including you. Who isn't an anomaly?"
"No, you don't understand. I feel that the Wild Ghost... he seems somewhat—dangerous."
"Dangerous?" Silver Moon asked in return. I really couldn't tell if he was pretending to be clueless or if he genuinely felt nothing. Of course, I didn't believe he was unaware.
"What does he have to do with magic?" Seeing that Silver Moon didn't want to answer, I directly asked.
Yin Yue's expression was off, and after a long silence, suddenly, he slapped my head and said, "What is your little head made of? What are you thinking about every day?"
"Hey! You—" I jumped back and covered my head.
What does Yin Yue mean by this? Is he still hiding something from me...
"I'm not hiding anything from you," Yin Yue said with a frown.
"Then what is it?!" I was a bit angry.
"This, you'll have to discover for yourself."
"It's always like this. Every time something happens, you all know about it, and I'm always left in the dark, being the last to find out!"
"Xi Meng." Yin Yue interrupted my rambling, his voice serious.
I instinctively quieted down and looked at him.
"The wild ghost is not a bad person; on the contrary, he is someone very important to me."
For some reason, when Yin Yue said this, there was a hint of sadness in his tone...
