“Xi Meng.” The warm and familiar voice gently brushed past my ears, awakening me from even the deepest of dreams.
“Yue—” Before I could open my eyes, a smile appeared on my lips.
“Have you been sitting for a long time?” Silver Moon sat foolishly at the edge of the bed, seemingly unresponsive as I woke up, just staring at me blankly. I couldn't help but ask with a laugh.
“You... are awake?” Silver Moon's sudden panic puzzled me. He withdrew his gaze from me and began to look around as if trying to hide his embarrassment.
“What’s wrong? You don’t look well.”
“It’s nothing, you’re overthinking it.” Silver Moon turned his head back, already regaining his warm smile.
“Where are we? I have no memory of this place at all.” I frowned and looked around, unable to recall what had happened.
“You were just too tired; you’ll feel better after some rest.” Yue bent down and gently stroked my hair.
“But I feel like I’ve forgotten something very important!” I suddenly sat up, instinctively sensing that there was something I needed to remember.
A few fragmented memories flashed in my mind, and the more I tried to think, the more my head hurt. It felt like something was blocking my recollection!
“Where is everyone?! We fell from Little Pink and got separated from them!” A few scattered images suddenly flashed through my mind!
Silver Moon looked at me in shock, incredulously blurting out, “You remember?!”
“What? Shouldn’t I remember?” I looked at Silver Moon in confusion; his reactions today seemed a bit strange.
“N-no... What else do you remember?” Silver Moon's tone was tense as he carefully watched me.
I continued to think, but it was all blank; it felt inexplicably like a part of me was missing!
As time slowly passed, the pain in my head became unbearable!
Damn, what is happening?!
"Alright, if it hurts, don't think about it anymore!" Silver Moon grabbed my arm that was holding my head and hugged me from behind, her voice trembling.
"Wait, is everyone in danger?!" I struggled and suddenly realized, "I can't remember why we came here; I've forgotten everything that happened before!"
"None of that matters, Xi Meng," Silver Moon patiently comforted my anxious emotions, whispering behind me, "You said you would be with me forever, remember?"
Silver Moon's voice was gentle yet tinged with sadness; she quietly held me without saying more.
I slowly calmed down, leaning against Silver Moon, but the unease in my heart remained strong!
"Let's just stay here and not go anywhere or worry about anything, okay?" Silver Moon slightly turned my body toward her, her gaze sincere and almost pleading.
Lost in those beautiful eyes, at that moment it felt like I really didn't want to think about anything. "Okay." I suppressed the unease and replied.
Sighing, I noticed this time that we were in a bamboo house, the environment was very elegant. It was exactly the kind of feeling I liked, but an indescribable sense of familiarity made it hard for me to feel fond of it.
"Have we been here before?" I asked Silver Moon.
Silver Moon paused for a moment, her smile a bit stiff as she said, "No, this is our first time here."
I didn't pay much attention to it and asked again, "What about the owner of this house? Can we stay here?" The environment suggested that the owner must really love this place.
"Don't worry; no one lives here. It's remote but very quiet," Silver Moon said as she walked to the door and gently pushed it open. Suddenly, a wave of floral fragrance rushed in!
I got out of bed and looked around; what caught my eye were giant flowers taller than people, yet they were stunningly beautiful.
Silver Moon clapped her hands, and a breeze swept through as melodious singing echoed from the flowers and plants around us, making it feel like we were in a fairyland.
"Do you like it?" Silver Moon smiled at me.
"Yes, it's beautiful." I stepped forward, linked my arm with Silver Moon's, leaned against her side, and closed my eyes.
The following days passed quietly yet pleasantly. We laughed and chatted every day, enjoying the beautiful scenery around us. The only strange thing was that Silver Moon would disappear for a while from time to time. He never mentioned where he went, and I never asked, treating it as if nothing had happened.
This time, Silver Moon left just as quietly. He was by my side in the morning, but now he had vanished without a sound.
I sat in the yard, quietly listening to the songs of the flowers.
Suddenly, I felt a warmth enveloping me, as if something was calling out to me, radiating an incredibly familiar sensation!
I stood up and walked step by step toward that aura, becoming more and more dazed as I went. Many images flashed through my mind, but I couldn't connect them together!
When those images faded and I regained my clarity, I found myself in a place I had never visited with Silver Moon.
This area was mostly barren and looked nothing like before; it was just a desolate expanse where I could no longer hear the songs of the flowers.
In such a place, however, there was a small black flower that stood out remarkably. After looking at those giant flowers for so long, this little flower that barely reached my ankle seemed particularly delicate and adorable.
I crouched down and felt that this nameless Black Flower seemed familiar somehow, especially its exquisite petals; it felt like I had seen it many times before.
Unconsciously reaching out to touch the Black Flower, I watched as it swiftly closed its petals and began to wither immediately, its petals falling off one by one in an instant.
I quickly withdrew my hand, confused about what had just happened!
In the blink of an eye, all the petals fell away, revealing a yellow Life Stone at the center of the flower, glowing faintly!
The Life Stone slowly rose and hovered in front of me for a moment. It felt as if a flood of images surged into my mind. Just then, the Life Stone shot toward my forehead!
I had always felt something blocking my memories; indeed, someone had sealed them away!
The Life Stone broke that seal, and suddenly all my memories became clear in my mind. In that final moment, the Life Stone found its mark!
Looking at the wilted little flower on the ground, I realized this must be left by Kurozawa... Hidden in such an obvious place; no wonder no one noticed anything wrong.
A trace of guilt crossed my mind. I had previously doubted Kurozawa, yet he had truly gone to such lengths for me. I was at a loss for words.
Looking around, I couldn't help but sneer; how could I forget this place—Demon Abyss!
Moreover, the ground beneath my feet was where I had fought against Siyimo before leaving the Underworld. The reason it had become so desolate was likely due to the destruction from that battle!
To avoid alerting Silver Moon, I quickly decided to return the way I came. However, I could now be fairly certain that the Silver Moon in front of me was not my Silver Moon; he was one of Siyimo's people!
What shocked me was how similar he looked to Silver Moon; I could barely distinguish between the two!
Chiba and the others were missing, and Siyimo still held them captive. This was not the time to expose his false identity; I wanted to see what schemes he was plotting!
...
"You’re back?" As I entered the courtyard, I saw Silver Moon sitting at a stone table, staring blankly at the entrance. When he noticed me return, his eyes lit up, and he smiled as he got up to greet me.
I froze. If I didn't know the truth, with his acting skills, I would never have realized he was Fake Silver Moon.
"Yeah, just took a casual stroll." Putting on a smile while looking at him, I clenched my fists, trying my best to hide my emotions.
"Did you find any good places? How about taking me to see them?" Silver Moon suddenly leaned closer, grinning at me.
I instinctively stepped back, quickly distancing myself from him by two meters.
Silver Moon was taken aback, looking at my reaction in confusion. His lips trembled as if he wanted to say something, but after a long pause, he couldn't utter a word.
I didn't know how to explain myself; I had never felt this much aversion towards him before.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Silver Moon asked stiffly.
"Um, I think I'm just a bit tired." I followed his lead, hoping this moment would pass quickly. Then I thought of an excuse and said, "I suddenly remembered something earlier, and now my head hurts again."
"Then why don't you go inside and rest for a bit?" He said as he came over to support me inside. His expression finally looked a little better.
Seeing that he did not doubt my words, I simply kept my mouth shut, thinking that saying too much could lead to mistakes, and quietly lay on the bed.
"I'm going out for a bit, I'll be back soon." Silver Moon left a kiss on my forehead and hurried away.
After Silver Moon left for a moment, I got up and followed him from behind.
...
Silver Moon was quite familiar with this place, winding through twists and turns until we arrived at a location I had never been to before, which further confirmed his connection with Siyimo!
I saw Silver Moon ask a red flower, "Miss Xi Dream, what have you done today?"
"Just wandered around as usual."
"Nothing unusual happened?"
The flower hesitated for a moment, drooping its petals as it said, "I went to the dead corner of the Demon Abyss, where I couldn't monitor."
"Alright, remember not to hide anything next time, no matter how small." Silver Moon waved his hand.
Before Silver Moon finished speaking, a transparent figure appeared above the red flower, sneering at something with a sharp voice, "I think she has discovered something."
I quickly covered my mouth; it was Siyimo!
"Impossible, I'm sure I sealed her memories." Silver Moon's tone turned cold, showing no fear.
"How long can your seal keep her memories locked? Are you planning to seal them for a lifetime?" Siyimo sneered.
"This is my business; you don't need to meddle."
"Hmph, I remember we didn't agree to cooperate like this in the beginning."
"I'm going back on my word; what are you going to do about it?"
"Ice Spirit Stone Don't you want to search anymore?"
Hearing Siyimo mention the Ice Spirit Stone, my hand instinctively reached for the small vial my ancestor had given me, gripping it tightly, afraid to make a sound.
Silver Moon glared at Siyimo in anger, not responding.
"You've sacrificed so much to find the Ice Spirit Stone, are you really going to give up now?" Siyimo raised his voice, still laced with sarcasm.
"Exchanging that human girl for the Ice Spirit Stone was something we agreed upon before."
"I don't need your reminders." Silver Moon turned away and left without another word.
Siyimo left behind a burst of laughter, and that layer of transparent illusion vanished along with him.
...
Who exactly is Silver Moon, and why does he want the Ice Spirit Stone?
Also, what was Siyimo planning by using the Ice Spirit Stone to exchange me? What was her intention?
