In the promotional video for the duel at the Ancient Capital released by the Lanstor Foundation in Previous Life, the Sword God emerged victorious. The Blade Demon's long sword was severed by the Sword God's sword energy, with half of the sword flying and embedding itself deeply into the wooden post of the tea pavilion where Rek was seated. 0

Rek had previously planned that if he wanted to take the Moon Goddess away, he couldn't do it forcefully. 0

The Lanstor Foundation's influence in the Star Alliance is among the top ranks. As a special student from the Super Soldier Academy, if he were to truly steal the Moon Goddess, even if he managed to escape from the Ancient Capital, he would face relentless pursuit from the Lanstor Foundation within a year. Even if he fled with the Moon Goddess to the Dark Dimension Super Soldier Academy, it was likely that the Star Alliance Military would eventually compromise with the Lanstor Foundation and hand over him and the Moon Goddess as thieves. 0

The only safe way to take the Moon Goddess away was if the Lanstor Foundation agreed to hand her over to Rek. 0

However, Rek currently lacked background and funds; the Lanstor Foundation would not simply give him the robot Moon Goddess without reason. 0

Rek thought of a plan: he would get injured during the duel between two Ancient Heroes. By recalling the trajectory of the last short sword from his previous life, he would allow himself to be accidentally harmed. The Lanstor Foundation would be pressured by external forces; if Rek were merely a civilian, he might be eliminated quietly. 0

However, Rek was now a special student of this year's Super Soldier Academy and had borrowed a large sum from the Star Alliance Federation before entering the Ancient Capital. 0

Erasing all traces of Rek would pose some difficulty even for the Lanstor Foundation. At that point, their first choice would be to negotiate with Rek, offering him benefits so that he could publicly claim he had not sustained serious injuries. 0

Although this plan carried some risks, Rek felt it was worth it to obtain the Moon Goddess. 0

The two Ancient Heroes flew in from a distance using lightness techniques, standing at either end of the Ancient Capital's city wall. They exchanged glances for a few seconds, spoke a few words, and then began to fight. The laser effects created realistic sword and blade energies that entertained both Indigenous Robots and incoming humans present at the scene. 0

Rek carefully observed this duel. "Moon Goddess, remember, no matter what happens later, do not show any signs of distress!" 0

Rek reiterated his instructions to the Moon Goddess beside him before standing up and picking up a stool beneath him. It seemed like he wanted to get a better view of the duel from closer up. 0

The two heroes were close to determining the victor. Rek moved a stool in front of the wooden post at the tea pavilion, jumped on it to watch, and silently prayed that the final landing point of the broken sword would not be off. 0

The final showdown between the Sword God and Blade Demon began. Just as Rek remembered, the Sword God’s long sword severed Blade Demon’s weapon and pierced through Blade Demon’s heart. 0

Seeing the Sword God victorious, everyone present cheered. 0

The severed weapon of Blade Demon quickly fell from the city tower, heading towards the wooden post where Rek stood. 0

“Quickly, too fast! I only knew roughly where the broken sword would land from watching the video. Thankfully, I’ve been training these days; my muscles are more flexible now. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to avoid being hit in the heart!” Rek thought, concentrating all his attention on the incoming broken sword. He slightly shifted his body, but the long sword directly pierced through Rek's chest, entering beside his heart and pinning him to the wooden post. 0

“Ah!” Rek screamed in pain and began to feign unconsciousness. 0

Hearing Rek's cry, nearby robots and tourists noticed his dire situation. 0

“Rek, what happened? Don’t die!” Moon Goddess rushed over, her face paling in fear upon seeing Rek impaled by the long sword. 0

In the main control research room of Ancient Capital, over a dozen researchers were about to celebrate the success of this sword duel scenario when suddenly an observation device captured footage of a tourist pinned to a pillar by a long sword. 0

“Prop Master, what’s going on? How did a tourist get hit by the long sword severed by the Sword God? Didn’t you simulate this scenario over ten times? Didn’t you guarantee there would be no errors?” An elderly researcher shouted angrily upon seeing the tourist injured. 0

“We simulated it, but who would have thought that this tourist would jump on a stool to watch the duel, especially at that critical moment during the final seconds of the two armed robots’ showdown!” A young male researcher said quietly, somewhat frightened. 0

“Stop making excuses! Useless! You’re all useless! Immediately activate the Directional Portal and send a rescue team. We cannot let this tourist die in our Ancient Capital. Use the best equipment and medicine to treat him, hurry! Find out this tourist's identity immediately! If he doesn’t survive, after today, our tourist numbers in Ancient Capital will plummet, and everyone present will bear the wrath of Lanstor Foundation,” the old man continued to shout. 0

The Moon Goddess stood beside the chair under Rek, deep in thought. Rek was gravely injured, and she wondered if it was intentional. His pulse was growing weaker, and the Moon Goddess decided to wait one more minute. If nothing unexpected happened, she would disregard Rek's previous instructions and use Acupuncture to save him. 0

Many Ancient City Robots and tourists had gathered around Rek. 0

At that moment, the door of a wooden room in a nearby Ancient Capital residence suddenly swung open. Four individuals dressed in black cloaks rushed out and approached Rek. One of them injected an unknown liquid into Rek, while the other three quickly used Laser Swords to cut away the wooden stakes, lifting both the stakes and Rek onto a folding stretcher they carried on their backs. 0

The four cloaked figures hurriedly carried the stretcher back into the wooden door of the residence from which they had emerged. 0

"Who are you?" the Moon Goddess called out as she chased after them. However, when she pushed open the door of the residence, the four cloaked figures and Rek had vanished. Inside, there were only three walls and a simple bed with chairs; not a single person remained. 0

The Moon Goddess trembled as she turned to leave. "This truly is a city of robots. Rek and the others are foreign human tourists. This Ancient Capital is actually controlled by a Research Institution, and all the native inhabitants are robots created by the Research Institution." The Moon Goddess recalled Rek's words, her heart unable to find peace. 0

Inside the Lanstor Foundation's top Research Institution, Rek was placed in a Special Treatment Pod, where the long blade embedded in his chest was removed. 0

Half a day later, Rek awoke from the Special Treatment Pod. The researchers were relieved that the blade had not pierced his Heart or other vital organs; it had only injured his muscles and some blood vessels. 0

The Director of the Lanstor Foundation's Research Institution looked at the report on Rek in his hands. It turned out that Rek was a special student affiliated with the Alliance Military Super Soldier Academy, which posed some complications. 0

"Go ask that boy named Rek what conditions he has," the Research Institution Director instructed his subordinate. "As long as he agrees to attend tonight's media meeting and explains that his injury looks severe but is actually minor—something prearranged with the Lanstor Foundation because he signed up as a temporary actor a few days ago—we can offer him some compensation and agree to certain conditions." 0
