Rek looked at the ten small bars on the golden wheel labeled Reward.
The Reward is divided into three types. The first type of item Reward has four slots:
The first slot contains a mysterious grade item - Slave Collar: Any intelligent being that voluntarily wears this Slave Collar will suffer extreme pain as soon as Host utters the incantation, becoming a slave controlled by Host.
Friendly reminder: If the overall strength evaluation of the being is greater than that of Host, the collar will be reversed and placed on Host, who will then be controlled by it. Please use with caution.
The second slot is a B Rank item - Invisibility Cloak: When wearing this cloak, if Host does not attack or use skills, they will enter an invisible state for thirty minutes. The skill has a cooldown time of twenty-four hours and can be used three times.
The third item is a One-Time Burst Potion: Injecting this potion into the body will instantly triple Host's strength and all attributes for thirty minutes. Afterward, for the next thirty days, Host will enter a weakened state where their strength and all attributes will only maintain one-tenth of their original values.
Friendly reminder: This potion is very precious and can only be used by Host themselves.
The fourth item is a special one-time item, the Bidirectional Space Gate Card: Using this card can open a forward space gate to any location that Host has previously reached.
Host can choose to permanently stay at the location through the forward space gate, giving up the option to open a reverse space gate. Alternatively, they can choose to reopen the reverse space gate within twelve hours to return.
Friendly reminder: The location opened by the space gate must be one that Host has visited with their main body after obtaining the War God System, excluding Mission Space and virtual spaces.
After looking at these four items of Reward, the first one, Slave Collar, holds little significance for him now; it can only control beings weaker than him, while those stronger cannot be affected.
The remaining three items of Reward are useful in life-and-death situations, serving as life-saving functions.
Among these, Rek prefers the side-effect-free Bidirectional Space Gate Card. This space gate functions like an all-map Teleportation, which is simply incredible; it can be used for both attacking and fleeing. The only downside is that it can only be used once.
After reviewing the four items of Reward, there are still two skill Rewards and four physical attribute Rewards left in this random selection metal disc.
One skill is: Blood Sacrifice: Host can enhance their attack power at the cost of consuming their own blood; the more blood consumed, the greater the attack damage.
This self-harming skill was immediately discarded by Rek. He prayed internally not to draw such a self-harming skill.
The second skill, Reward, is Overdraw Future. After using it, the Host consumes their future life as a cost to gain a powerful attack boost; the more life that is overdrawn, the stronger the attack.
Rek looked at this frustrating life-overdrawing skill and decided that even if he ended up drawing it later, he would resolutely not use it.
The remaining four body stat Rewards are Stamina, Agility, Intelligence, and a ten percent increase in Strength.
Rek examined the ten Rewards randomly drawn from the disk this time. The only ones he could accept were the one-time item Bidirectional Space Gate Card and any one of the four body stat increases by ten percent.
Rek pulled the lever, and the pointer began to spin rapidly on the golden disk. Fortunately, it wasn't too fast, and Rek tried to judge when to stop the pointer on the Bidirectional Space Gate Card.
After pulling the lever again, Rek sadly discovered that the pointer did not stop immediately but began to slow down gradually, directly passing over the one-time Bidirectional Space Gate Card.
"How frustrating!" Rek sighed inwardly as he watched the pointer slowly make another round, about to stop on the Overdraw Future skill.
"Please don't stop there, just move a bit more!" Rek prayed in his heart. Thankfully, the pointer moved forward again and was about to stop on the option for a ten percent increase in Stamina.
"A ten percent increase in Strength is also pretty good; it's better than self-harm!" Rek comforted himself.
Just as the pointer was about to stop, it unexpectedly shook forward two more spaces. Rek looked at where the pointer finally pointed for his Reward and exclaimed with excitement.
"The random draw of ten Rewards is complete. Congratulations to the Host for obtaining a one-time item: Bidirectional Space Gate Card." The voice of the War God System echoed in Rek's mind. Soon after, a small golden card floated in his mind, displaying an abstract metallic door pattern.
"War God System, keep this card with you for now. I'll ask for it when I need it; there are no other restrictions on immediate use, right?" Rek asked the War God System in his mind.
"Correct," replied the System's voice in Rek's head.
Having obtained the miraculous life-saving one-time card, Bidirectional Space Gate, Rek excitedly opened his eyes and saw Moon Goddess beside him, looking at him.
"Rek, why do you look so happy? Why did you shout?" Moon Goddess asked curiously.
"I'm just happy sitting by the lake with you, Moon Goddess!" Rek said randomly.
"You're lying!" Moon Goddess said these two words and stopped questioning further.
Rek looked at the Wrist Communicator in his hand, which received a message from his homeroom teacher, Maya. Maya instructed him to go to the Operation Equipment Warehouse in the Second Zone of the Super Soldier Academy, saying there was an urgent matter to discuss.
Then Rek saw another message, a punishment issued by the principal.
It was a public announcement of disciplinary action directed at all freshmen and teachers.
"They actually want me to go outside the Fortress and hunt ten Alien Species within five days. That's a bit challenging," Rek thought to himself after reading the principal's announcement.
Beside Rek, Moon Goddess was not a freshman; she belonged to the medical System and had not received the principal's broadcast regarding Rek's punishment.
"Moon Goddess, I'm going to be out of the Super Soldier Academy Fortress for a few days to hone my skills. You should study modern medicine more in the infirmary while I'm gone. Don't do anything too outrageous during this time," Rek said to Moon Goddess.
"You’re going out? But outside is Dark Space. I’ve heard it’s a toxic, high-radiation environment with dangerous creatures.
Are you being expelled from the Super Soldier Academy? No way! If that’s the case, I’ll go with you. We’ll find a way back to Sanctuary Base and return to Main Space Earth," Moon Goddess said after thinking for a moment.
"Stop overthinking it. I'm going out to train. Genetic Mechs grow rapidly by absorbing the life force of creatures they kill through constant combat. If all goes well, I’ll be back in five days. Your combat abilities aren’t sufficient yet; if you leave the Super Soldier Academy, you won’t even be able to protect yourself in Dark Space. Following me would be like signing your own death warrant," Rek said as he stood up and patted Moon Goddess on her little head.
"I'll find a way to get a Genetic Mech too. Once I’m stronger, I’ll train alongside you," Moon Goddess stubbornly replied.
