On the metal floor, after lying down for a while, Rek heard footsteps and realized Maya had rushed to his side, trying to carefully check his injuries.
"Rek, didn't I tell you to signal for help if you encountered danger outside? How could you go and fight an Alien Species by yourself? Where have you been for over an hour? There shouldn't be any Alien Species near the Super Soldier Academy Fortress," Master Muya said, a hint of pain in her voice.
Maya looked at the two Headless Abominations pierced by Bone Blades and some Alien Species bones not far from Rek. It was clear that Rek had gone through a fierce battle.
Rek struggled to open his eyes and said weakly, "Master Muya, I discovered an Alien Species and got caught up in it. I didn't make it to your class this afternoon and missed the practical combat lesson with Sophomores against Alien Species. I'm late; I was rushing back to attend class. I—" Rek began to struggle to get up.
"Stop talking! You're hurt badly; just lie still and don't move. Don't worry about missing class; the teacher won't blame you. That class was canceled anyway. Just lie down; where are you injured? The paramedics will be here soon," Maya interrupted him, feeling touched.
Maya thought about how good her student Rek was, wanting to attend her class even when injured. She decided she should treat Rek better in the future.
Rek avoided Maya's gaze and winked at Alice, who stood behind Maya.
Alice, standing behind Maya, admired Rek with a look that said he was impressive.
Outside the isolation scanning room, footsteps were heard again as a girl in a doctor's outfit hurried over, followed by two Male Nurses pushing an Advanced Healing Recovery Chamber.
The newcomer was Moon Goddess. Upon seeing Rek lying on the ground covered in blood, she gasped, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
"Rek, how badly are you hurt? I've brought the Advanced Recovery Pod and Golden Needle with me. Should I give you a few injections first to stabilize your condition? You got hurt for me; don't push yourself so hard!" Moon Goddess cried as she took out the Golden Needle that Master Mie had just given her and prepared to use the Deadly acupuncture technique on Rek.
Moon Goddess knew that Rek had gone outside the Academy Fortress to eliminate Alien Species. In a way, Rek's injuries were to prevent that Headless Abomination in the infirmary from harming her.
Rek looked at the Golden Needle in the hands of the Moon Goddess and quickly interrupted, "I'm fine, really fine. Please don't cry. Most of this blood on me is from Alien Species. My injuries aren't serious; I really don't need a needle. Stop crying, Moon Goddess. I'm still alive and well! Besides, you brought the Advanced Recovery Pod, so I can just lie in the Recovery Pod for a while and I'll be fine."
Rek knew that the Moon Goddess's Deadly Golden Needle technique had saved him many times before when he was forced to train his body by the War God System in the Ancient Capital.
But now he had the Genetic Mech as a symbiotic biological armor, and the Moon Goddess's Golden Needle technique wasn't perfected yet.
Not long ago, the Moon Goddess had used her Golden Needle technique to treat over ten injured freshmen in the medical room, and Rek didn't want to be turned into a cripple by the well-meaning Moon Goddess.
Master Muya watched as the Moon Goddess took out the Golden Needle. Although Maya knew that the Moon Goddess was Rek's friend, she had heard some internal rumors before.
During the Opening Ceremony, those freshmen who challenged her were almost discharged after being injured by her. It was said that they were crippled by a novice named Moon Goddess in the medical room. Later, this medical incident was suppressed by Doctor Mie, that old woman from the medical office.
When Maya heard about that incident, she felt secretly pleased, thinking that the Moon Goddess had really avenged her.
The reputation of the Moon Goddess was known among the Freshman Class teachers as a dark presence. Whenever students needed treatment in the medical room, teachers would secretly advise them not to let a female doctor named Moon Goddess give them needles; otherwise, their lives might be at risk.
Maya quickly interjected, "Yes, with the Advanced Recovery Pod, Rek can just use the Recovery Pod. Moon Goddess, you're Rek's friend; please help me get him into the Recovery Pod for treatment."
With both beautiful women helping him, Rek was lifted into the nearby Advanced Recovery Pod. The Moon Goddess skillfully activated the Advanced Recovery Fluid inside the Special Treatment Pod to heal Rek's body.
Lying in the Recovery Pod and soaking in the Advanced Healing Liquid, Rek felt as if his entire body was being massaged; it was incredibly comfortable. He released his Genetic Mech armed state to allow his body to absorb the nutrient liquid.
The Advanced Recovery Pod containing Rek was sent back to the medical room by the Moon Goddess and a nurse.
The Headless Abomination and bones that Rek had brought back from Academy Fortress were also sealed and packaged by guards according to Academy Fortress regulations and sent to the medical room for research as specimens.
Maya still felt a bit uneasy and followed them to the infirmary. After all, Moon Goddess had previously demonstrated her skills with the Golden Needle, which was quite impressive. Maya was worried that her only two students, especially Rek, might be accidentally harmed by Moon Goddess's well-meaning actions.
The little girl, Golden-Haired Alice, had nothing to do either and decided to tag along with Master Muya to the infirmary.
In the Emergency Room of the infirmary, Rek was lying on the Surgical Table, while Master Mie and Moon Goddess sat at the chairs beside it.
Master Mie, this older woman, spoke with some annoyance to Rek and Moon Goddess, saying, "After testing and reviewing the treatment records from the Advanced Recovery Pod, Rek, your body is merely fatigued; you are not injured at all.
You pretended to be seriously hurt to trick me into coming here. Don't you know my time is valuable? I was in the middle of dissecting a freshly deceased Headless Abomination.
And you, Moon Goddess, your friend is in perfect health, stronger than most students. Why did you drag me here to see him?"
Upon hearing her mentor Doctor Mie say that Rek was fine, Moon Goddess felt relieved. Earlier, seeing Rek covered in blood had made her panic and she had insisted on bringing Master Mie over for help.
Moon Goddess stuck out her tongue and smiled without saying anything. As a healer herself and now a disciple of Doctor Mie, she checked Rek's pulse and confirmed that he truly had no issues.
In the corridor outside the operating room, Master Muya paced anxiously in front of the waiting bench while Maya worried about Rek who had already entered the surgical room. Meanwhile, Alice seemed unfazed as she used her Wrist Communicator to buy a bottle of juice from the vending machine in the corridor and casually drank it.
Inside the operating room, Rek lay back on the Surgical Table with his legs crossed, wearing an inscrutable expression as he smiled at Doctor Mie. "I heard you're dissecting a Headless Abomination of an alien species. This Headless Abomination must have died mysteriously about half an hour ago.
Master Mie, while you dissect this Headless Abomination, did you notice anything strange about its body? Doesn't it seem somewhat incomplete? By the way, I brought back three skulls from outside the academy; one has already been consumed by my Genetic Mech and turned into a skullcap. The other two still have flesh and blood on them from when I killed them not long ago. You should dissect those skulls later and come find me; you might discover something interesting."
