"Summer, guess who just called me?" Jerry said excitedly, holding his phone.
"Seeing you so happy, it must be good news. Is it Chen Dao's assistant?"
"No!" Jerry mysteriously shook his finger. "You absolutely won't believe it, it's Chen Dao! Chen Dao himself, not his assistant!"

It became a phenomenon in the industry where everyone scrambled to get into Chen Dao's productions. After all, everyone wants to become famous through a role in one of his dramas.
For Xinran, she indeed hoped to gain fame through Chen Dao's work; however, her main reason for wanting to be in his new drama was to redeem herself. A year and a half ago, when Chen Dao's New Drama "Falling for the Mysterious Angel" began filming, thanks to Jerry's efforts, Xinran was fortunate enough to land the role of the fourth female lead. She spent half a month familiarizing herself with the script, but on the first day of filming, she was informed by the crew that her role had been replaced by the newly debuted Xu Shanshan!
Xinran had no choice but to leave disappointed. Later, someone from the crew who had a good relationship with Jerry revealed the truth: Xu Shanshan's backer was one of the investors in the drama. Since they were funding it, they had more power; even if Xu Shanshan were cast as a supporting role, she might take precedence over the main character. So it was entirely normal for Xinran to be kicked out at the last moment. That person ended with a piece of advice for Jerry: "Don't think it's unfair; if you have connections, let your friend find a backer!"
Xinran had no backer and despised using her body to gain fame. Besides that, she was willing to do anything that wouldn't harm her principles while still benefiting her. She understood this logic well; how else could one survive in the entertainment industry without resorting to tricks or schemes? Her kindness and innocence had long been discarded; now all she could hold onto tightly was her body. Even if it wasn't worth much, she would never sell it!
"Summer, you're getting ahead of yourself; I haven't finished my sentence... This time Chen Dao not only decided to give you an opportunity but also said he thinks you are more suited for the third female lead than the fourth! So this time, you're the third female lead, not that pitiful fourth lead!" Jerry teased slightly before looking at Xinran's eyes widening in disbelief. This little fool probably never imagined she would have a chance to play the third female lead in Chen Dao's New Drama. He almost burst out laughing on the phone with Chen Dao himself...
"Jerry, I feel like my soul has left my body! You have to hold me; I need to calm down! Augus is simply my lucky star! I really didn't expect that having rumors with him would bring such a huge opportunity my way!" Xinran pinched her arm hard; only pain could make her feel more real!
"Fool, whether Augus is your lucky star or not, I don't know; I only know your luck has arrived! Go wipe your tears; don't let your eyes get puffy since we still have an audition at the crew this afternoon!"
"Understood!" Xinran saluted playfully and shouted loudly.
