“Augus, what are you up to again?” As soon as the call connected, Xinran shouted angrily at the other end.
“Haha, so it seems you know?” Augus chuckled lightly, unfazed by Xinran's anger.
“There’s a crowd of paparazzi surrounding the entrance; it’s hard not to notice! Where are you? I want to see you!”
“Come to Sais, I’ll be waiting for you at our usual spot. How long will it take you to get here? Should I order your favorite Irish Coffee in advance?”
“Augus, is it really that fun to mess with me? Tell me, how am I supposed to get into Sais? Should I beg the doorman to let me in?” Xinran yelled again, feeling frustrated by Augus's nonchalant tone.
“Dear, don’t be so worked up. Just tell them I’m your boyfriend, and the doorman will let you in. Hey…” After a moment, Augus hung up the phone with a smile in his eyes. Just as he finished speaking, Xinran had already ended the call. It seemed she was truly upset. But what did that matter? Once she learned the truth, her anger would likely be irrelevant. As for when she would find out, that depended on how long his brother could keep his identity hidden from Xinran…
He knew that if his brother wanted to keep it a secret forever, then Xinran might never realize that the two people beside her were actually brothers!
“Jerry, take me to the Sais private club.” After hanging up, Xinran leaned over to Jerry, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. Sais was where she first met Augus; it was when she agreed to pretend to be his girlfriend to deceive someone so he could help her gain fame. Recently, for various reasons, she had indeed become popular but almost forgot about their initial agreement. Had she helped Augus achieve his goal?
She had just blamed Augus for his presumptuousness due to the sudden blockade by the paparazzi. However, thinking back now, ever since they agreed to be contract partners, he had never done anything harmful to her. Even last time when he kissed her in front of the paparazzi, it was to clarify rumors about her being involved with two men without her permission!
His actions were indeed annoying but carried no malice. It seemed she was only upset because he had rejected an offer from Mukai Hisashi; otherwise, he hadn’t really done anything wrong. Looking at it this way, she had no reason to blame him for this incident. Accepting “Diamond Absolute Love” would lower his market value and collaborating with her might even affect his reputation; she truly couldn’t see what his intentions were.
“Xinran, since Augus has already stated he will take this role and plans to collaborate with you as a couple, you shouldn’t refuse. It’s beneficial for you!” Jerry seized the opportunity to say. He had always advocated for Xinran not to turn down this project; however, since she had made up her mind, there wasn’t much more he could say.
“We’ll see!” She leaned back tiredly against the seat. Augus didn’t know about Dong Shan Zhong’s entanglement with her; perhaps he just accidentally chose this project. She even suspected that his main purpose was to act as a couple with her to provoke someone behind him!
What should she do? It's really troubling! She finally managed to communicate with Dong Shan Zhong, and now Augus has come in to cause chaos. Is it really destined that she and Chen Dao are meant to be in this production? Is it impossible to proceed without her involvement?
Forget it, forget it. There's no point in overthinking it; she'll deal with it after meeting Augus!
