In the middle of the night, moonlight spilled through the curtains into the room, illuminating the two bodies tightly embraced on the double bed. One could vaguely see the man's strong arm possessively wrapped around the woman, as if he did not want to let her go.
Time passed second by second, and as the night deepened, Xinran slowly opened her eyes. Using the moonlight, she carefully observed Mu Shaosi's handsome face. He had finally fallen into a deep sleep, and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Throughout the night, he had teased and provoked her with various excuses; his restless hands and ambiguous words lingered on her body and in her ears. This kind of night was far more exhausting than if he had completely possessed her, and it made her heart easily waver, difficult to control, and hard to suppress the growth of feelings...
Such a man was too dangerous. She had thought more than once that he was like a hunting leopard, while she was merely his chosen prey. Now there was a rare opportunity for her to escape from the leopard's jaws. She truly could not hesitate; she must make up her mind to leave this place, to leave Mu Shaosi!
With this thought in mind, Xinran skillfully pulled away Mu Shaosi's arm that lay across her body and quietly jumped out of bed to avoid waking him. She tiptoed toward the wardrobe, crouched down, and took out a delicate suitcase from the bottom shelf. It contained all her belongings from when she arrived here—nothing much, so it wouldn't be troublesome when she left. In fact, she had never intended to stay long; the suitcase proved everything...
Mu Shaosi's eyes were deep and dark. He lay still in his original position, watching every move Xinran made from a distance. When she moved away from his arm, he had already awakened—or rather, he was afraid that this woman would pull some tricks, so he dared not sleep too deeply. Sure enough, she really planned to leave under cover of night!
He knew her too well; all night long he had been teasing her with his fingers, exploring her secrets with intense kisses that invaded her mouth and lips. His injuries did not allow him to engage in vigorous activities, so he could only use his fingers instead. By the end of it all, her lips were swollen, sweat dripped from her forehead, and there were traces of tears left at the corners of her eyes from begging him for mercy. What was his relentless torment for? It was merely to wear her out so that she would fall into a deep sleep and wake up to find it was already the next day. But what was the result? It seemed he still lacked enough restraint because she still had the energy to think about escaping!
Xinran dressed in the dark and picked up her suitcase, intending to leave immediately. However, just as she reached the door and had not yet opened it, a cold voice suddenly broke through the darkness: "Leaving without a word like this is quite disrespectful, isn't it?"
In the next moment, the lights in the room turned on. Xinran slightly turned around and saw Mu Shaosi sitting naturally in the center of the bed, his upper body bare and revealing his strong physique. His face was clear and devoid of any signs of sleepiness or fatigue from being awakened!
"So you... weren't asleep!" She took a small step back and said firmly.
"Sleep? How could I dare to sleep?" He scoffed as he got off the bed and strode toward her before snatching away the suitcase from her hand and throwing it onto the floor beside them.
"What are you doing?" Xinran glanced at the suitcase he had discarded with furrowed brows and asked.
"It should be me asking you what you plan to do, right? Want to leave? It seems women really are unreliable, especially you, Summer!" Mu Shaosi said, lifting Xinran's chin with one hand and leaning close to her face, speaking through clenched teeth.
"I..." She felt guilty, caught red-handed; there was no point in saying anything. But even if he saw her, so what? At most, she would just wait until dawn to leave. It was the same; there was no difference.
"Too lazy to argue, huh? That's fine. Then you don't need to say anything at all. We'll wait together until tomorrow, and then I'll give you a big gift to celebrate your return to singlehood. How does that sound?" Mu Shaosi said with a cold smile, speaking calmly.
"What exactly do you want to do?" This was the second time she had an unsettling premonition, but she couldn't figure out what this ominous feeling was or where it came from.
"What's the rush? You'll find out tomorrow. Come, sit!" He sat back down on the bed first and waved at Xinran.
