Silently entering, Mo Xier immediately turned around upon seeing the visitor and stood up. "How is Old Madam? Is she feeling any better?" 0

"You actually care about others. Don't you care about your own hair?" Night Star raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. 0

Imitating his raised brow, Mo Xier felt somewhat relieved at that moment. After thinking about it all afternoon, she realized that feeling depressed over such matters was truly not worth it. 0

Only she knew whether she was a Demoness; how others viewed or spoke of her was their business. Since their mouths were on them, she couldn't possibly silence them all. 0

Slowly shaking her head, she said, "I've figured it out. Since this matter can't be resolved anyway, why should I make myself unhappy?" 0

Her candidness made Night Star glance at her sideways; this woman's ability to self-regulate was astonishing. 0

"You still haven't told me how Old Madam is doing." 0

"Mother is just angry and having trouble breathing. As long as the doctor takes good care of her, she'll naturally get better. There's no need to worry too much." 0

Nodding, Mo Xier lowered her head again to fuss with her hair. With her mood settled, looking at herself in the mirror, she found that she even had a certain charm. 0

"Hey, do I look like an Old Witch with youthful features?" At this point, Mo Xier carefully observed herself and couldn't help but laugh out loud. 0

Shaking his head slowly, Night Star could only silently lament her carefree nature and said solemnly, "For the next few days, you should stay at home and not go anywhere. Ru Er will take care of you until your hair returns to normal." 0

"It should change back by tomorrow; there's no need to worry too much." She even comforted him, "By the way, why are you all so afraid of White-Haired women? Is there some bad rumor?" 0

Night Star slightly raised her gaze, her expression ambiguous as she asked, "Do you really not know anything at all?" 0

Mo Xier was not from the Heavenly Universe Kingdom; she had crossed over and naturally knew nothing of these chaotic legends. She slowly shook her head, appearing quite indifferent. 0

"Every three hundred years, a White-Haired Woman appears, bringing disaster to the nation and ruin to families, during the time of national collapse!" Night Star spoke each word with exceptional clarity. 0

His eyes remained fixed on her, observing all her expressions. However, apart from shock and a hint of disdain, he could not discern any other emotions in her eyes. 0

"You don't care?" 0

"What is there to care about? It's all just nonsense made up by Wandering Sorcerers to deceive people." 0

Mo Xier spoke nonchalantly; after all, she had come from the modern world and had some understanding of technology. Regarding White Hair, her first reaction was that it indicated a problem with bodily functions—how could she believe in such an empty prophecy? 0

"You are very special." Unconsciously, this sentence slipped out, leaving even Night Star momentarily stunned that he had said such a thing! 0

Hearing the compliment, the woman clearly felt good and broke into a broad smile, sincerely saying, "Thank you." 0

"There’s a lot going on today; you should rest early. I won’t be attending Court Session for the next few days and will stay at the General's residence to prevent Old Madam from causing you any trouble." 0

The two bid each other farewell and returned to their own rooms. Mo Xier didn’t think much of it and fell asleep quickly after a long day. 0

The night wind gently opened the window, and a cool breeze swept in. Lying in bed, Mo Xier instinctively wrapped herself tighter in the blanket. 0

In a half-dreaming state, she seemed to sense someone slowly approaching her. She wanted to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt so heavy that she couldn't lift them at all. 0

It was still a hazy scene, with no clear view of the distant landscape. Wandering forward felt like an endless journey, and just looking at it filled her with despair. 0

Slowly moving ahead, she called out and cried, but no one responded, as if she were the only person in this boundless space. The feeling of loneliness in her heart was magnified infinitely. 0

Fear gripped her so intensely that it was beyond words to describe. Even her steps felt unsteady as she continued forward without knowing what lay ahead, as if each step could lead her into an abyss. 0

After moving forward about ten meters, the White-Clad Woman she had seen before reappeared, her long white hair drifting in front of her. 0

Mo Xier nearly screamed, but the cry was caught in her throat, unable to escape no matter how hard she tried. The pressure built up inside her made her want to cry. 0

"Why don't you love me? Why?" 0

It was still the same words from yesterday. Controlling her fear, she pressed on, wanting to see the woman's face clearly, but each time the haze blocked her view. 0

"Miss, who are you? Why are you here?" 0

There was no response. 0

"Miss? Can you hear me?" 0

Silence persisted. 0

The white-clad woman swayed back and forth, repeating only that one line: "Why don't you love me?" 0

She struggled to push through the thick fog, thinking she could finally see the woman's face, but suddenly her foot slipped, and she jolted awake from the dream. 0

The glaring sunlight and the somewhat noisy chirping of birds outside the window caught her attention, and everything from her dream began to fade away. After being in a daze for a long while, she slowly regained her senses and sat up. 0

This was already the second time she had this dream. Who was the woman in her dream? Why did she keep repeating that phrase? 0

A hint of sadness crept into her expression. Hearing some movement in the room, Ru Er quickly came in to check the situation. Upon seeing Mo Xier, her eyes instantly lit up. 0

"Miss, your hair has changed back again! How strange!" Ru Er hurried forward, curiosity shining in her eyes as if she had discovered a new continent. "But it's good that it changed back; the way you had white hair was quite frightening." 0

Hearing Ru Er's words, Mo Xier finally noticed her hair. Indeed, after just one night, it had returned to its original state, with a full head of Azure Silk showing no trace of White Hair. 0

"What time is it now?" 0

"It's still early outside. Why don't you sleep a little longer?" Seeing Mo Xier's somewhat dazed expression and recalling what happened yesterday, Ru Er couldn't help but feel some sympathy and wanted her to rest a bit more. 0

However, Mo Xier was unwilling and insisted on getting up. Ru Er couldn't persuade her otherwise and could only obediently comply. 0

While combing her hair in the morning, her mind was completely elsewhere. Her brows were tightly furrowed, as if something was troubling her. 0

After thinking it over, Mo Xier decided to tell the man about her dream. After all, he was the only one she felt familiar with here; discussing such matters with someone was certainly more useful than overthinking alone. 0

"Is Night Star up yet?" 0

"The young master has been up for a while now, but he has gone to visit Old Madam. It might take some time before he returns to the courtyard. Do you want to go?" 0

She nodded slowly. "Go and let him know that I'm waiting for him here." 0

Although Ru Er did not quite understand what Mo Xier was trying to do, she still went according to the principle of serving well as instructed by the young master. 0

As soon as she stepped into Old Madam's courtyard, she received a message that Night Star was also somewhat puzzled about what this woman wanted to discuss with him. 0

With thoughts in mind, he could not remain calm. 0

Since Old Madam fainted yesterday, she had only briefly regained consciousness at night; for the rest of the time, she remained in a daze, her awareness unclear. 0

This illness could not be resolved quickly; the main issue was to quell the inner fire. Since he had been pondering over what Mo Xier wanted, after seeing Old Madam, he did not go to his study but went straight back to his room. 0

"What do you want from me?" He entered and dismissed the servants without any preamble, asking directly. 0

Mo Xier was not one to beat around the bush either. Seeing him so straightforward eased her burden significantly, and she lightly began to speak about her two dreams. 0

"Actually, I have amnesia. What I told you before was all made up to deceive you." To make her story flow more naturally, she generously admitted to her previous deception. "I was afraid you would think I had an unclear identity and drive me away, so I lied out of fear." 0

"Amnesia?" Night Star's tone held some disbelief, but it lacked the suspicion he had shown earlier. If she truly had amnesia, it could explain why this woman with white hair had no internal power; if she forgot her martial arts techniques, how could she possess any internal strength? 0

"I don't know how I lost my memory, but I think it might be related to my dreams. Previously, I told you I was abandoned and turned white-haired overnight; now considering it in light of my dreams, perhaps that really is the case." 0

While saying this, Mo Xier intentionally lowered her tone, appearing genuinely despondent. She used this weak image to lower his guard against her, and she excelled at this! 0

She understood that in order to deceive this astute man before her, she needed to act convincingly. Thus, every word she spoke contained a mix of truth and lies. 0

Within the truth lay falsehoods; even she found it hard to distinguish which parts were true and which were false. 0

Night Star was clearly more convinced this time compared to the first. 0

After quietly listening to her finish speaking, he remained silent for a long time before slowly asking, "What do you want me to do by telling me all this now?" 0

"You said you would send someone to investigate me, right? If I tell you this, won't you investigate faster? Because now I also want to know my identity. 0

I don't want to bring about a killing disaster because of this inexplicable White Hair. This world is so wonderful; I don't want to end my life after living for just over a decade." 0

Mo Xier's words made him feel something was off, yet they also seemed reasonable. Who wouldn't value their life? 0

"Hey! I've said so much; will you agree to help me or not?" 0

Nodding slightly, Night Star's deep eyes sparkled with a hint of light. "I can agree to help you, but you must also agree to one condition of mine." 0

Mo Xier understood in her heart that based on her observations of him over the past few days, it would be abnormal for this man not to propose a condition! 0

"You say it; as long as it's something I can do, I will definitely agree." 0

Upon hearing this, the man revealed a strange smile that made her feel a bit uneasy. What if he wanted her to pledge herself to him?! 0
