Staring blankly out the window, Mo Xier gradually became lost in thought. It wasn't until later that she recalled Ru Er's strange gaze that day.
But she couldn't understand why Ru Er would do such a thing. What could she possibly gain from it? While Mo Xier was puzzled, Yonghe City erupted in chaos upon learning that a woman had been kidnapped.

"Young Master, the young lady..." Ru Er stammered, clearly taken aback by his sudden concern. At that moment, she also felt a throbbing pain at the back of her head.
Though still keeping her head down and not daring to meet his gaze, it was evident that her ears were gradually turning red.
"She has been kidnapped. We only found you in the room. What exactly happened?" The man's cold eyes seemed devoid of any emotion.
As if touched by a painful memory, Ru Er's face instantly filled with terror as she said, "The maid and the young lady were both in the room that day. The young lady was writing a prescription when suddenly someone burst in through the door. I didn't react in time and was knocked out; the young lady must have been taken away!"
As her words fell, the man's expression remained indifferent, revealing no emotions—cold as winter and chilling to the bone.
"Ru Er, look up at me. I want you to think carefully about what has happened," he said, reaching out to grip her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze.
His deep, star-like eyes were filled with a cold indifference that concealed all emotions. As she stared into his eyes, the woman instinctively wanted to retreat, her hands clenched tightly together under the blanket.
However, a voice echoed in her mind, and the thought of retreating vanished in an instant, leaving her expression increasingly innocent.

The worry etched on her face and her pitiful demeanor would make anyone believe she was a frightened maid concerned for her master.

But why would she lie? Where had Mo Xier gone? What could be confirmed was that she had truly disappeared and had been abducted. Who were the ones that took her? What were their intentions?

It could now be almost certain that she had been taken by that tall man, but her whereabouts remained unclear.
He wasn't particularly anxious; if the abductor was after money, they would surely make demands within a day. If it wasn't for money but something else, he believed there would be some clues left behind—there would definitely be traces to follow!
His hands at his sides gradually clenched into fists. The audacity to take someone right under his nose and even bribe those around her indicated that the identity of the abductor was certainly not simple!
"Black clothing." As soon as he finished speaking, a figure appeared before him.

The man in black immediately knelt down on both legs, bowing his head in respect. "I cannot bear to see my lord mistreating himself like this. A woman of unknown origin has already caused you to break too many principles!"
"When did my affairs become your concern? You better understand what your responsibilities are! After you receive your punishment, you may go look for her. If she does not return, you need not come back!"
The man's cold words seemed to echo from hell, devoid of any emotion, the order for punishment calm yet resolute.
The figure in black first stiffened, but soon returned to normal, only bowing his head and saying, "I understand, my lord." He then respectfully saluted and, after a few flips, disappeared from the man's sight.
