At the moment Mo Xier locked eyes with the White-Clad Woman, she was momentarily stunned. A familiar feeling surged up, causing her to clutch her chest tightly; the intense pain in her heart nearly took her breath away. 0

Struggling to wake up felt like being trapped in a quagmire; no matter how hard she tried to open her eyes, it was futile. She wanted to cry out in anguish, but it felt as if something was blocking her throat, leaving her only able to whimper in her sleep. 0

As dawn broke, she slowly opened her eyes. The night’s nightmares had left her utterly exhausted, and her once bright eyes were now bloodshot, as if filled with rage. 0

Weakly sitting up, she hugged her legs to her chest, adopting a protective posture with her head buried deeply between her knees. 0

Her dazed eyes stared blankly at a certain spot. Although she was awake, her mind echoed with those cruel images! 0

That mark resembling the Azure Dragon—he clearly knew why he didn’t tell her. Was it intentional concealment? Or did he have other motives? Her hands gradually tightened until her sharp nails dug deep into her palms, and only then did she release them. 0

The entire morning passed with her remaining motionless in bed, like a statue. No matter who knocked on the door, she did not respond or open it. 0

Due to the man’s special instructions, even so, no servant dared to enter without permission. They could only anxiously pace outside the door like ants on a hot pan. 0

By afternoon, still no sign of her coming out, the waiting servants could no longer hold back and sent someone to Night Star for instructions. 0

Upon hearing that the woman hadn’t left her room all morning while handling official business, he immediately abandoned his work and headed to her courtyard. 0

“It’s me, open the door.” His words were as brief as his character, commanding in tone without even a knock, leaving no room for refusal. However, all he received in response was silence from within. 0

Mo Xier, lost in thought, suddenly looked up at the sound of his voice. For the first time in a long while, there was focus in her gaze, but she merely stared at the door without speaking. 0

After waiting outside for a long time without any response, the man furrowed his brows and knocked on the door again. “Open the door!” 0

His tone grew increasingly firm. Hearing this attitude from inside, she couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh but turned away as if she hadn’t heard anything and continued to huddle like an ostrich. 0

Night Star's patience finally wore thin at this moment. Without waiting for a response, he took a few steps back and waved his hand at the young servant at the door, signaling him to break it down. 0

The young servant, caught off guard, dared not disobey the command. Gritting his teeth, he steeled himself and began to slam against the door. 0

However, every structure in the general's residence was built with great care. The locked door was not so easily broken open. 0

The door began to emit loud noises, undoubtedly disturbing her in bed. Annoyed, she turned her head to look at the shaking door, and a strange smile suddenly appeared on her lips. 0

She slowly moved from the bed to the floor and walked to the door, abruptly opening it. 0

The sunlight outside was just right; as she opened the door, a cascade of light poured in like fabric, and the dazzling brightness made her squint slightly. 0

The young servant slamming against the door never expected it would open by itself. He stumbled forward, nearly falling into the woman's arms, but was quickly caught by Night Star behind him. 0

With deep-set eyes filled with anger, he fixed his gaze on her attire, fury rising within him! 0

The woman before him had disheveled hair and was only wearing her nightclothes, without even a robe. Since she had been sleeping, her nightgown was slightly unbuttoned, and from his angle, he could almost see her delicate collarbone and fair skin. 0

If he looked just a little lower, he could even see her soft curves. She wore only a pair of panties below, revealing her shapely legs. 0

Her bare feet stood on the cold floor without any shoes. What was wrong with this woman? With so many people watching, couldn't she have dressed properly before coming out to open the door? 0

Not only was he stunned, but everyone outside was also taken aback. When had they ever seen such an open woman in ancient times? 0

Feeling his gaze upon her, she remained calm, even wearing a hint of mocking smile as she met his eyes directly. 0

The man then threw the young servant outside and turned to stand in front of her, blocking everyone's view from outside. He spoke in a low voice: "Everyone turn around!" 0

With a single command, who would dare to disobey? All that could be seen was the synchronized movement of turning away. 0

Such obedience only made the woman's mocking smile grow wider. It was clearly afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly, yet she felt no warmth from it. 0

Night Star grabbed her wrist and without a word pulled her into the room. As he closed the door, he ordered those outside, "Everyone stay outside the courtyard. No one is allowed in without my command!" 0

She did not resist, allowing Night Star to pull her along, but her gaze remained fixed on him, as if trying to see through him. 0

"What’s wrong with you? Why did you come to the door without properly dressing?" His words were accusatory as he pulled her inside and then released her. 0

"Did you give me a chance to get dressed? Wasn't it you who had someone bang on the door?" Her tone was sarcastic, with an inflection that hinted at immense anger. 0

Their eyes met, and he saw the endless resentment in hers, along with a detachment he had never witnessed before. 0

His gaze slowly scanned her from head to toe. Her disheveled hair was tangled and lacked any beauty, while her red eyes suggested she hadn’t slept all night. He finally realized something was off about her. How could just one night change the way she looked at him? 0

"What happened to you?" He stepped forward with concern, wanting to offer comfort; however, before he could reach her, she quickly dodged away. 0

"Stay away from me!" Her tone was filled with disgust and a strong sense of distance. She turned her back to him and casually grabbed some clothes from the bed, tightly covering herself. 0

How had Night Star ever been treated like this? At that moment, he felt utterly humiliated, and the expression on his face gradually faded. After a moment of silence, he spoke up, "Did you have another nightmare?" 0

He knew that her emotions were always affected after nightmares; it wasn't news to him. What puzzled him was why her reaction was so intense this time! 0

"What does it have to do with you?" 0

Mo Xier seemed to explode like she had swallowed gunpowder, her emotions becoming increasingly agitated. The haunting call of Dream Woman suddenly echoed in her mind, nearly robbing her of the ability to think. 0

To her, he had truly set aside all his pride. Although his expression was grim, his words still conveyed concern. "If you're not feeling well, I can have someone fetch a doctor for you." 0

"Night General is truly a joke! I am a doctor myself; why would I need to call someone else?" 0

The atmosphere in the room was exceptionally strange. He would say something, and she would find a way to retort, as if making the man uncomfortable would somehow bring her satisfaction. 0

However, her words today seemed to fall flat, lacking any force and receiving no response from him. 0

Her already pent-up emotions grew even more stifled at that moment. She felt a surge of frustration with nowhere to vent it, only wanting to find a place to release it all! Suddenly turning around, she looked at him with eyes full of hatred. 0

"You clearly know who the man in my dreams is; why are you deceiving me?" 0

As soon as she spoke those words, Night Star's cold expression showed a hint of disturbance. He understood that one day she would see the face of the man in her dreams, but he never expected it to come so soon, catching him off guard. 0

Her initial anger intensified upon seeing his sudden silence; the overwhelming fury nearly burned away all her rationality. 0

"That Dragon Mark is clearly your mark; why didn't you tell me? Why make me feel like a fool, living in your Lie?" 0

He remained silent, and this only further enraged her! 0

"Not speaking? Do you think that by staying silent you can cover up the fact that you've deceived me? Why did you keep me by your side?" 0

Mo Xier shook her head while continuously stepping back, accusing him: "How much of what you said last night can I actually believe? Is a person who lies so freely worth my trust?" 0

Initially, he had indeed intended to conceal the truth for his own benefit. He was unsure whether she would stay by his side after learning who the man in her dreams was. 0

Moreover, in his memories, Mo Xier had never appeared at all. How could he admit that? Now that she knew everything, he found himself at a loss for how to remedy the situation. 0

The woman's last words deeply pierced his heart; he had never been so moved by any woman before! 0

"Liars! You are all liars!" 0

After holding back tears for an entire day, they finally broke free at this moment, streaming down her cheeks, mixed with her agitated emotions, and falling onto the cold ground. 0

Faced with such a reaction from her, Night Star remained silent, his deep-set eyes fixed on her without moving, not uttering a single word. 0

The two remained silent for a long time. Mo Xier, not receiving an answer, felt her inner anger build up to a breaking point, finally erupting like a long-dormant volcano! 0

She stepped forward quickly, grabbing the corner of his clothing, her red eyes seemingly ready to spit fire! 0

"How much more are you hiding from me? Can you just be straightforward like a man and tell me? I hate being deceived by others the most!" 0

Her slightly calloused hand covered his in an attempt to soothe her emotions, but she violently shook it off. She retreated as if stung, her disdain for him clearly unmasked and laid bare before him. 0

"Don't touch me! Just your touch makes me feel sick!" Her wide eyes resembled those of a vengeful spirit. "No wonder Ru Er could do such things! Truly, like master, like servant. I only regret that it was you I encountered!" 0

In her fury, the words she spoke came without thought, directly and painfully. Night Star's eyes narrowed, a hidden pain tugging at his heart. 0

"I just didn't want you to overthink things." 0

"Hah." The woman scoffed at his words, clearly dismissive. "Should I thank you then? Thank you for deceiving me for so long and making me look like a fool beside you?" 0
