The significance of eyes for a person is not only to observe the outside world but also to judge the situation. After losing his sight, Li Nan, although cautious in all his actions, still left some blind spots.
Li Nan felt his legs bump into something heavy, and he did not continue moving but called Mo Xiaohui to come and take a look.
Mo Xiaohui was rummaging through the refrigerator for food when she heard Li Nan's voice and immediately turned to see.
At that moment, a hand slowly reached out from the pile of things at Li Nan's feet, climbing toward his calf.
Suddenly, Li Nan felt pressure on his leg; it was clear he was being attacked by a Zombie.
Mo Xiaohui also turned and hurried to Li Nan's side, saying nervously, "Run! There's a Zombie at your feet!"
Li Nan sensed something unusual around him, but he did not panic. Instead, he remained calm and straightened his body, then pulled out the screwdriver from behind him and suddenly lunged down to stab fiercely. Instantly, there was chaos as pieces of flesh flew everywhere.
Mo Xiaohui watched in shock, "Can you see...?"
Li Nan continued with the screwdriver in hand, "I can't see, but I can roughly guess its position!"
While Li Nan was stabbing wildly, a head had already risen up and viciously lunged to bite his calf!
At that moment, Mo Xiaohui kicked out with her foot and crushed the head that was reaching out to bite.
"It still takes me to handle this!" Mo Xiaohui said proudly. Li Nan, however, was unfazed as he retracted the screwdriver and calmly replied, "This isn't anything; finding food is more important!"
Mo Xiaohui stood up and looked at the corpse lying on the ground. Its body was already covered in rotten flesh; this Zombie didn't look good at all.
Li Nan asked Mo Xiaohui, "Is the smell in the house coming from this Zombie?"
Mo Xiaohui leaned down to sniff. Although Zombies have a foul odor, it wasn't strong enough to be smelled outside the door. "The smell isn't from this Zombie; it must be caused by some rotting food!"
Li Nan nodded in agreement and continued searching around the house.
At this point, Mo Xiaohui had a question. "The house is locked from the inside; how did this person become a Zombie?"
"I don't know, maybe the owner of this house was attacked by a Zombie outside and then managed to escape back home before turning into one. In any case, there are many reasons for the patients' conditions, but the result is the same—they are all beyond help! There is no cure!"
Mo Xiaohui nodded, "This place is relatively tidy, and there are no signs of Zombies breaking in, so what you said should be correct!"
Li Nan wasn't interested in what had happened in this house; he was more concerned about whether there were any living people or food available. However, due to his poor eyesight, he could only shout to Mo Xiaohui, "Don't rush to pack food; first check each room to see if there are any Survivors!"
Mo Xiaohui opened each room one by one, but they were mostly empty with nothing inside. Li Nan then asked, "Where is that rotten smell coming from?"
Mo Xiaohui sniffed and slowly walked toward a small room following the scent.
With a loud bang, Mo Xiaohui kicked open a small door, and as soon as he looked inside, he immediately vomited.
Li Nan heard the noise and asked curiously, "What happened?"
Mo Xiaohui covered his mouth and said, "You should come see for yourself."
Thinking about how Li Nan couldn't see anything now, he replied, "In any case, it's something very disgusting; you better not come over!"
Li Nan said "Oh," then told Mo Xiaohui, "If there’s no one here, let’s quickly look for anything useful and move it upstairs!"
Mo Xiaohui searched through all the rooms but found nothing useful. However, he did find several bank cards and a decent amount of cash. But in this apocalypse, such things were less convenient than toilet paper!
Mo Xiaohui stumbled into a room that resembled a study. On a shelf inside were numerous pieces of porcelain and stones. It seemed the owner was a collector who had specifically set aside a room to store his treasures.
Not being particularly interested in antique stone collections, Mo Xiaohui glanced over them and continued searching the cabinets for anything useful.
Li Nan followed closely behind Mo Xiaohui but accidentally knocked over a small porcelain bottle from the shelf.
Mo Xiaohui suddenly turned around and asked, "Are you okay?"
Li Nan waved his hand to indicate he was fine. As his hand continued to explore the shelf, he discovered something warm and smooth to the touch.
Li Nan held the object in his hand, feeling that it was not large, fitting comfortably in half of his palm, and it felt incredibly smooth, almost like beautiful jade.
"Mo Xiaohui, come and see what this is!"
Mo Xiaohui suddenly turned around, only to find that Li Nan was holding a piece of stone. "There are plenty of these in the mountains; what's so special about it?"
Li Nan reproached Mo Xiaohui for not recognizing a treasure. "You should try feeling it; don't let your eyes deceive you!"
Mo Xiaohui skeptically reached out her hand. The surface appeared to be a rough stone, but once she held it, it felt warm and smooth, almost like a baby's skin, making her reluctant to let go.
"What is this? Jade?"
Li Nan shook his head. "I don't know; it should be jade, but I'm not familiar with this kind of thing. However, its texture is indeed very nice; it probably surpasses most women's softness!"
Mo Xiaohui proudly straightened her chest. "What are you talking about? This broken stone can't compare to..." As soon as the words left her mouth, Mo Xiaohui realized she had misspoken and immediately fell silent, stomping her feet in frustration.
Li Nan smiled. "Just joking! I've decided to keep this stone; you can continue looking for your supplies!"
Mo Xiaohui gritted her teeth, thinking how could her pair of beautiful breasts possibly compare to a stone? It was infuriating, but then she chuckled at the thought.
Putting that aside, Mo Xiaohui continued to search low in the room for tools or weapons. She made some discoveries in a small cabinet.
From the cabinet, Mo Xiaohui found a set of climbing gear, including a climbing gear set, a backpack, and a climbing pick. "I didn't expect the owner not only liked collecting but was also an outdoor enthusiast. It's quite unfortunate that he died!"

Li Nan also smiled and said, "It's good for self-defense; at least it lightens my burden a bit!"
With the Backpack on Li Nan's back, Mo Xiaohui led the way as the two of them slowly ascended the stairs.
After finishing their search, they transported everything back to their hideout. Li Nan was calculating their gains with a satisfying clink, and today, Mo Xiaohui had already proven herself capable of handling things on her own.
After a busy day, it was still early, but Li Nan insisted that their work for today would end here. Rome wasn't built in a day, so there was no need to rush this building plan; they could take it step by step.
By the time they unloaded the Backpack, it was already five in the afternoon. Li Nan sat on the sofa and closed his eyes to rest.
Meanwhile, Mo Xiaohui organized and categorized the items they had gathered and stored them away, while Li Nan enjoyed a rare moment of leisure.
Suddenly, a crisp sound echoed from the sofa; it was the stone from Li Nan's pocket that had fallen to the ground.
Mo Xiaohui didn't have time to worry about Li Nan's stone, while Li Nan bent down to feel around on the floor. Suddenly, he seemed to catch a glimpse of something shining before him, very clearly.
"Did you see something?" Li Nan asked Mo Xiaohui, who shook her head vigorously. "I didn't see anything; you should just take a good rest!"
Li Nan rubbed his eyes and felt that light was gradually returning to his vision, as if the dark night was coming to an end and dawn was approaching.
Li Nan could hardly believe what he saw before him. "Could it be...?"
Mo Xiaohui heard Li Nan muttering to himself on the sofa and couldn't make sense of it. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Just then, when Mo Xiaohui turned around, she noticed something unusual about Li Nan behind her.
What kind of feeling was that? Mo Xiaohui felt a bit uneasy in her heart. When she turned back to look at Li Nan, she saw his eyes opening. Beneath a faint membrane, his pupils gradually began to shine like a moth breaking free from its cocoon; no matter how strong the cage was, it couldn't hold back a heart yearning for freedom!
Mo Xiaohui stammered, "Your eyes..."
Li Nan also felt something unusual about his eyes, and immediately said to Mo Xiaohui, "I think I can see you now!"
"Really?" Mo Xiaohui could hardly believe it. Li Nan had miraculously regained his sight after inexplicably losing it. This surprise was even greater than escaping from Jiangbei Hospital.
Mo Xiaohui ignored the clutter on the ground and rushed toward Li Nan, tears of joy streaming down her face as she said, "Can you really see me?"
Li Nan smiled and gently wiped away her tears with his finger under her eye socket. "Of course, I can see you again, and I can see the whole world!"
Mo Xiaohui extended her right hand in front of Li Nan and made a gesture. "How many is this?"
Li Nan chuckled. "That's two; you're such a complete fool!"
Mo Xiaohui gently pulled her hand back and instinctively leaned in to bring her lips close to Li Nan's mouth. For a moment, their gazes were dreamy, as if not sharing a kiss would be unfair to the readers.
Just as Mo Xiaohui was about to give him a French kiss, she suddenly felt a sharp pain at the corner of her mouth. "Ah! That hurts!"
Li Nan was taken aback and then awkwardly said, "I guess I should have shaved first!"
