Li Nan shouted loudly, and the Cleaver in his hand was already charged with energy, instantly cutting through the vines entangled around the rear bumper of the vehicle. He then yelled to Fatty inside the car, "Hurry up and drive!"
Fatty in the driver's seat stepped on the gas, but the armored vehicle still couldn't move.
At that moment, Li Nan looked down and realized that the vehicle's undercarriage was completely jammed by a mess of plant branches, rendering it immobile!
Li Nan cursed under his breath, "These damn things just won't quit!" He then swung the Cleaver, slicing horizontally and vertically, sending wood chips flying!
Just as Li Nan focused on cutting away the branches and vines, he suddenly felt a force wrap around his ankle!
By the time Li Nan reacted, the force had quickly spread up his body and had already reached his thigh!
Li Nan silently called out that it was bad. He immediately turned around, trying to shake off the grip on his thigh, but no matter how he moved, the thing wrapped around him was like a stubborn adhesive plaster that he couldn't shake off!
Seeing that things were going south, Li Nan turned the blade back and didn't care about injuring himself; he directly cut into his thigh with the blade, severing a section of Deadwood immediately!
"This vehicle isn't going anywhere; we need to jump out and escape!" Li Nan made his first judgment about the situation.
Fatty had already realized that they couldn't drive away, so he jumped out of the car and told Lin Hai in the back seat, "You take A Fei and Li Da Peng and get out of here quickly. I'll hold them off with Nan Ge!"
Lin Hai complied and immediately hoisted A Fei onto one shoulder while grabbing an AK-47 with the other hand. He then said to Li Dapeng, "Hurry up and follow me!"
Li Dapeng glanced outside and saw various Humanoid Withered Woods surging from both sides of the road, roaring fiercely. It seemed they had been waiting here for quite some time. Li Dapeng's expression turned doubtful. "Can we really escape this time?"
Without looking back, Lin Hai carried A Fei out and said, "Who cares if we can escape? We can't just sit here and wait for death!"
Li Dapeng nodded resolutely, pulling out a Walther pistol with his right hand while gripping a Vigo Knife tightly in his left.
After Lin Hai and Li Dapeng exited the armored vehicle, twelve-year-old Li Dapeng didn't run away but instead held his gun with one hand and began shooting at the Humanoid Withered Woods!
Seeing Li Dapeng take action, injured Li Nan shouted, "Hurry up and escape! Don't cause trouble here!"
Li Dapeng did not listen, but raised his hand and fired, directly breaking a piece of Humanoid Withered Wood that was approaching Li Nan. "I am no longer a child; I have my own choices!"
At this moment, Fatty grinned, "Once a child grows up, they can't just do as they please. Brother Nan, you should have anticipated this!"
Li Nan sighed bitterly and immediately swung his knife with one hand, cutting down several Humanoid Withered Wood that pounced at him. "Once a child grows up, they can't be kept; I went through that age too!"
Fatty smiled widely. "The age of being a son or daughter has passed; now it's time to be a father or mother. Unfortunately, I, Fatty, am too carefree and probably won't have the chance to enjoy the blessings of children in this lifetime!"
Li Dapeng took aim and said, "Uncle Wang, Li Da Peng will be your godson; when the time comes, I'll see you off!"
Fatty, who was busy firing his Submachine Gun, suddenly heard Li Dapeng's words and was momentarily speechless. He then glanced at Li Nan, who showed no expression.
With a sweep of his Cleaver, Li Nan shouted, "I'll let you have this one, Fatty, but being a godfather isn't something you can just take on; you need to teach him something!"
Upon hearing this, Fatty quickened his firing pace. "It's been years since I touched a woman; today I've picked up a big son! This deal is worth it!"
Fatty pulled out a magazine from behind him and quickly loaded it into the gun. Then he shouted to Li Dapeng, "You Fat Uncle, I'm your fat dad! I may not have much skill, but I've got the talent for hitting targets from a hundred paces. Stick with me, and you'll become a legendary Gunslinger!"
Just as Fatty was boasting, Li Nan interjected, "You should save your bragging for after we escape; whether we make it out alive is still in question!"
Fatty grinned and replied, "I have good luck; if they want to kill me, they'll need to see if they have teeth strong enough to bite through copper and iron!"
Immediately after, bullets from the Submachine Gun flew out, sending wood chips flying everywhere like a big man wielding a kitchen knife angrily chopping at carrots and scallions. Unfortunately, the opponents faced by Li Nan and the others were not as defenseless as vegetables!
The rushing Humanoid Withered Wood had completely surrounded Li Nan and his group. Lin Hai, who intended to escape from behind them, also retreated. "We can't leave now; there are ghosts everywhere. What should we do?"
Upon hearing this, Li Nan looked as if he had bitten into a Bitter Melon. "Concentrate firepower and look for a breakthrough; I refuse to believe we can't break out today!"
Lin Hai tied A Fei to himself with his coat and then drew his AK-47, firing wildly. Although their combined firepower could stop the approaching Humanoid Withered Wood, it was still not enough to break through completely!
"These guys are too tough; we need to cut off their roots to escape safely. But right now..." Fatty muttered before being entangled by the creeping Deadwood from under the armored vehicle.
Just as Fatty was about to fall, Li Dapeng beside him had already drawn the Vigo Knife. With a swift cut from the cross blade, he immediately freed Fatty from his predicament.
Fatty's face was filled with amusement. "You really treat me well, my godson. From now on, if there's meat to eat, I won't let you gnaw on bones!"
Li Dapeng ignored the chatter from the glib Fatty. After sheathing his knife, he raised his eyes and noticed a cut on Li Nan's thigh. However, after the bleeding subsided, the wound quickly healed without leaving a scar. If it weren't for the torn pants and the blood that had flowed earlier, others would hardly notice the injury.
Although Li Dapeng felt uneasy, he couldn't afford to think too much at this moment. He immediately drew his gun and fired at the Deadwood entangled under the armored vehicle, hoping to drive away those Ghosts.
The Humanoid Withered Wood was incredibly difficult to deal with; they couldn't be killed and couldn't be severed completely. Compared to them, Li Nan and the others had exhausted too much strength. Realizing the situation was dire, Li Nan shouted to those around him, "We need to head towards the botanical garden!"

"Taking risks is indeed clever!" Fatty couldn't help but admire silently, while Li Nan remained unfazed and used his Desert Eagle to break through towards the botanical garden.
With cover fire from behind, Li Nan charged forward ten meters with his Desert Eagle and large Cleaver in hand, while the Humanoid Withered Wood on either side couldn't get close at all!
As the frontline deepened, Fatty, Lin Hai, and Li Dapeng followed closely behind, managing to push through without any danger.
Those Humanoid Withered Wood had spread out from the botanical garden, and each one was connected by long vines. It was as if the main body of the plants in the garden was controlling them. This meant that compared to these troublesome Humanoid Withered Wood, their main bodies hidden in the botanical garden might be much easier to deal with!
Determined with this thought in mind, Li Nan used his Cleaver to sever several vines connecting the Humanoid Withered Wood to their main bodies in the botanical garden before being the first to dash through its entrance.

At this moment, Fatty and the others had eliminated most of the Humanoid Withered Wood, and just as they were about to search for any remaining survivors, they realized that Li Nan had already dashed into the botanical garden.
