Chef Wang felt a chill in his heart when someone behind him shouted, "Who is that over there?"
Following the direction of the person's finger, everyone leaned out to look. They saw a blood-soaked man standing at the front entrance below, with a tongue over half a meter long hanging out of his mouth, making his way up the stairs!
Upon closer inspection, although the man's face and body were splattered with blood, Chef Wang recognized him at a glance and silently muttered, "It's Zhao Si!"
The others echoed in disbelief, "Isn't Zhao Si already dead? He died at the hands of those people, how could he..."
Downstairs, Zhao Si had disheveled hair and two dark circles under his eyes. He was slowly ascending the stairs while flicking his long tongue. With the white mist swirling outside, he looked like a little ghost that had crawled out from the underworld!
Seeing this, Chef Wang's heart trembled. He immediately raised his kitchen knife and charged forward. However, when they met on the stairs, Chef Wang shouted loudly and turned around to flee, yelling, "There's a ghost! There's a ghost!"
Chef Wang was not weak; in fact, he was quite hefty from constantly eating human flesh. However, his speed in fleeing was extraordinary, almost like a gust of wind!
Seeing Chef Wang show fear, the others lost their courage as well. Despite regularly consuming human flesh and being tough characters, they were now faced with something incomprehensible and nearly wet their pants!
Six burly men all rushed upstairs to hide in secret places or fell to the ground pretending to be dead, pleading desperately, "Please spare us, Ghost Grandpa! Please spare us!"
The weapons they held—knives and axes—were long discarded. Who could fight against ghosts with mere human strength?
Whether or not ghosts truly existed was hard to say. However, in this apocalyptic era, who would care about ghosts? Only those who had done something wrong would believe in such supernatural tales!
Zhao Si, covered in blood and biting onto his long tongue, saw the men upstairs fleeing in panic and exclaimed loudly, "Damn it! You scared me to death!"
In this situation, as long as Zhao Si wasn't a ghost himself, he would start to doubt things. The truth proved that Zhao Si indeed was not a ghost!
Seeing that the others were even more frightened than he was, Zhao Si's trembling legs immediately steadied. He puffed out his chest and softly chanted, "Eat meat still meat; eat bones pull bones; eat skin peel skin; whatever has eaten me must spit it out..."
Zhao Si couldn't recall that song; otherwise, he would have sung it. His incantation proved effective as those men believed wholeheartedly that he was a vengeful spirit come to collect their lives!
At this moment, Zhao Si cursed inwardly, "If I hadn't been held at gunpoint from behind, I wouldn't be doing this!" But seeing that he was no longer in danger only made Zhao Si's performance more convincing!
Just as the men upstairs were all showing signs of fear, the figures downstairs gathered together. Upon closer inspection, those white figures were not ghosts at all; they were merely wooden poles draped in white cloth. The real mastermind was simply using a long pole to control their movements. However, under the cover of thick fog, it did give off a ghostly vibe!
Li Nan was among them and noticed that Zhao Si had already succeeded. He immediately shouted, "Go upstairs and kill the ghosts!"
Fatty and the others rushed forward, while Vincent's subordinates had no ability to resist. At that moment, they all turned into ostriches with their heads buried in the ground, too afraid to look at anyone else, only begging for mercy!
Seeing that his ghost act had worked well enough, Zhao Si tore off a piece of red cloth he had been biting down on and wiped the bloodstains from his face and body, which were actually just some dye!
Zhao Si couldn't help but smile; he never expected that his clumsy performance could scare these usually ruthless men who feasted on human flesh. However, what Zhao Si didn't know was that Li Nan had been planning this for a long time. First, he faked Zhao Si's death by cutting his ear and shooting an arrow. Then he took advantage of the weather to create confusion before finally orchestrating this elaborate ruse to make these brutes believe it!
Zhao Si's final appearance was the last straw that broke everyone's mental defenses, which is why everything went so smoothly!
Zhao Si stepped aside, and Li Nan brandished the Black Gold Blade as he charged upstairs. He quickly spotted a man with his backside sticking up behind a door panel. Without hesitation, he swung his blade and sliced off half of the man's backside!
The man let out a cry, but Li Nan showed no mercy. He kicked him hard, severing him in half and spilling his intestines everywhere!
After taking down one person, Li Nan looked around the hall. In the center stood a large iron pot filled with soup that had already reached a semi-solid state, likely containing plenty of grease! Beside the pot lay a pool of struggling blood and several pieces of women's clothing scattered about.
Behind the large pot was a chopping board reeking of blood, littered with eyeballs, fingers, long hair, teeth, and other gruesome items. Next to the board was a pile of entrails emitting an unbearable stench!
When Wen Jing saw this scene, she couldn't help but exclaim "Oh!" as her stomach churned and she vomited.
This was a hell on earth; it was undoubtedly a human purgatory. These devils who feasted on human flesh had turned what could have been a beautiful place into the most horrific purgatory imaginable. They were alive yet committed acts worse than those of zombies—was this truly the end of days?
Li Nan shook his head; he would not allow such things to happen. Since these people were devils who ate humans, he would become the fierce god punishing them!
The man whom Li Nan had cut in half did not die immediately; instead, his eyes rolled back as he spat out thick liquid. Although his spinal nerves were severed, his brain remained active!
Li Nan grabbed the upper half of the man's body with one hand and without thinking twice, threw him into the iron pot before turning to those behind him and saying, "Light a fire for me!"
Using their own methods against them was all Li Nan could do now. To punish these demons, he needed to be even more ruthless than they were!
Li Nan spoke, and Zhao Si immediately rushed over, searching around for a few dehydrated human bones, which he directly stuffed into the fire pit beneath the large iron pot, then found a lighter and ignited it!
The human bones caught fire, emitting a smell reminiscent of rotting flesh, while the iron pot began to heat up as the flames grew stronger, causing the water to boil.
The half-body turned its murky eyes, trying to make a sound, but its throat was blocked by congealed blood, preventing it from uttering a single coherent word. The skin on its body gradually began to peel away in the boiling water.
The water in the pot was now completely boiling, yet the half-body still had its mouth wide open, not truly dead yet!
Taking advantage of this moment, Li Nan wielded the Black Gold Blade and found another man. He swiftly plunged the knife into the man's rear and stirred violently, likely emptying his entire stomach in the process.
A torrent of excrement erupted from the man's mouth and nostrils, choking him to death!
Seeing his opponent motionless, Li Nan cursed under his breath, "What a damn pity for you!"
The third person had his nose, ears, tongue cut off, and his eyes gouged out; his entire head instantly became a bloody mess. Yet Li Nan was not satisfied and shouted, "Get someone else! Break all his teeth, pull out his hair, and chop off his limbs! I've heard of the punishment of 'human pig' in ancient times; today I want to see what a 'human pig' really is!"
Zhao Si was the first to rush over again. He borrowed a small knife from someone nearby and went straight to work without caring about the mournful sounds coming from the man's throat; he feared that the man might not be in enough pain!
The fourth person was already scared stiff; the large axe he held clanged to the ground, cutting off half of his foot.
Li Nan glanced at an iron hook hanging from the ceiling with a growing smile. He feigned a strike with his knife before forcefully grabbing the man's neck. With one arm raised, he lifted the man’s weight and hung him on that iron hook.
The hook pierced through the man's scalp and into his skull. Within three seconds of hanging there under his own weight, the man's head was torn apart, with brain matter spilling out like freshly made tofu pudding, still steaming!
Before Li Nan could act again, the man hanging on the hook had already suffocated to death!
However, Li Nan was not satisfied; he slashed through both of the man's thighs at their roots and then stabbed near his anus. Immediately after, everything inside him flowed out due to gravity through that opening—intestines and excrement scattered everywhere!
Fueled by a fierce murderous intent, Li Nan found a fifth man. This man seemed aware of his inability to resist; he grabbed a brick and smashed it against his own head. Unfortunately, he lacked sufficient strength and did not die!
At this point, Li Nan was nearly insane; the Black Gold Blade in his hand was stained bright red with blood!
The building has already been controlled by Li Nan, and the people under Vincent have all been subdued, akin to pigs and cows awaiting slaughter. Ordinary people would not torture them, but today’s Li Nan finds pleasure in cruelty.
If these human scum are not subjected to extreme punishment, then what is the righteous path in this world? If the only fate awaiting these villains is death, how can the souls they have devoured find peace?
Using violence to counter violence, using evil to combat evil, today Li Nan is possessed by madness. If he does not employ some severe measures against these people, he would truly be unworthy of being called a man of blood and guts!
The man he had knocked down was still breathing, but he was merely pretending to be dead!
Li Nan raised the Black Gold Blade, intending to skin the man alive. However, Wen Jing suddenly spoke up, “One stab is enough; there’s no need for this!”
The blade that Li Nan held aloft abruptly halted. Then Wen Jing rushed over, snatched a Submachine Gun from someone nearby, and unleashed a barrage of bullets at the fallen man, instantly turning him into a honeycomb!
The recoil from the Submachine Gun was significant. This was Wen Jing's first time shooting; she only knew to pull the trigger but was unaware of the tremendous kickback from the bullets. As a result, her body jolted, and a spray of bullets inadvertently aimed at Li Nan!
Fortunately, Li Nan was quick on his feet and had already sensed that Wen Jing was unreliable, so he managed to dodge out of the way.
However, just as he avoided the bullets, he did not anticipate a sudden gust from behind. Realizing something was wrong, Li Nan quickly bent down and saw a gleaming kitchen knife embedded into the brick wall!
