I carefully tucked the note away, holding the Little Emperor, and quickly left the secret chamber, returning to the palace.
I brought the Little Emperor out of the secret chamber and back to the main hall of the palace.
The main hall was in chaos, with civil and military officials anxiously awaiting our appearance.
" Curator Lin, Your Majesty, you have finally come out!" Upon seeing me and the Little Emperor, the officials let out a collective sigh of relief. I placed the Little Emperor on the ground and addressed them, "I am fine, and His Majesty is safe as well. However... Eunuch Wang is dead."
I informed the officials about Eunuch Wang's collusion with the demon clan, and they were all shocked by the news.
"Eunuch Wang... how dare he collude with the demon clan?!" The Imperial Guard Commander’s face turned pale, his hand gripping his sword hilt tightly as veins bulged on his forehead. He was furious and eager to lead a charge against the demons immediately.
"We must prepare our defenses at once to prevent a demon invasion!" The Chancellor stepped forward and declared loudly.
"I have already made arrangements; the Imperial Guard is ready for battle. If the demons dare to come, we will eliminate them all!" The Imperial Guard Commander proclaimed loudly.
"Good!" The Chancellor nodded in agreement.
"Your Majesty, we have many tasks ahead of us," I said softly.
The Little Emperor nodded, his eyes filled with hope but even more with unease.
"Lin Fan," the Little Emperor said quietly, "will they... really come?"
I patted the Little Emperor's head and smiled, saying, "Don't worry. As long as we are here, no one can harm you."
I looked around and noticed that outside the main hall, security was tight. The Imperial Guards stood ready with their spears, while several large birds circled in the distant sky, clearly deployed for reconnaissance.
" Curator Lin, the Demon Army has appeared outside, and their numbers are vast. They are approaching the palace!" an Imperial Guard rushed in to report to me.
"I understand," I nodded and turned to the Little Emperor, saying, "Your Majesty, please go to a safe place for now. Leave this to me."
The Little Emperor nodded and obediently followed several palace maids out of the main hall.
I walked to the window and looked outside, only to see that the palace was already surrounded by the Demon Army. Black demonic energy filled the air, sending chills down my spine.
" Curator Lin, we have never used this formation before. Is it really effective?" the Imperial Guard Commander hesitated and asked.
"Trust me, I will show you a miracle," I said confidently, my words carrying an undeniable assurance.
I took out a scroll from my pocket; it was a map I had found earlier in the secret chamber. It recorded the palace's Defense System, including various formations and mechanisms. The map was yellowed and slightly damaged at the edges but still relatively intact.
I spread out the map and pointed at the formation diagram, saying to the Imperial Guard Commander, "The palace's Defense System is divided into three layers: the first layer is the Moat, the second layer is the city walls, and the third layer is the formations. We need to combine these three layers of Defense System to create an impenetrable defense network."
I pointed at a marked spot on the map and said to the Imperial Guard Commander, "Look here; this is the gate of the Moat. We need to use mechanisms to open the gate and let the water flow rapidly to block the demon's attack."
The Imperial Guard Commander carefully examined the map, his eyes narrowing slightly as he seemed to contemplate my plan.
" Curator Lin, this formation..." The Imperial Guard Commander hesitated, seeming somewhat skeptical.
"Trust me, I have considered everything thoroughly," I smiled confidently, a glint of light flashing in my eyes. "This is not just a defensive formation; it is also a killing formation that I have improved. Once activated, it will surely deal a heavy blow to the demons!"
"General Zhao, you are responsible for commanding the Imperial Guards. Arrange them at the formation nodes and ensure they follow my instructions," I instructed.
"At your command!" General Zhao replied emphatically, his face filled with determination.
I handed the map to General Zhao and then turned to look at the other officials.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the situation is critical. We need to unite and resist the invasion of the demon race together. I assure you, as long as we work hand in hand, we will surely defeat the demons and protect Heavenly Revelation." I spoke with conviction, my eyes brimming with confidence.
The officials were inspired by my momentum, nodding in support.
" Curator Lin, we believe in you!" The Chancellor stepped forward, his tone resolute and his eyes filled with trust in me.
