Zong Lingxu looked at Zhang Yang and suddenly blushed.
"Why are you blushing? Feeling energetic?" Zhang Yang asked.
"Is the yellow stuff the wax used for keeping warm? Stop talking nonsense. Don't you know that I actually like your carefree attitude?" Zong Lingxu said.
"Oh, so blushing means you're getting restless!" Zhang Yang's hands began to wander.
"This is a hospital!" Zong Lingxu's face turned even redder.
"Isn't this a high-end special care ward?" Zhang Yang did not stop his actions.
Just as their breathing calmed down, there was a knock on the door. The two quickly tidied up, and a young nurse walked in. She looked at Zong Lingxu and suddenly smiled, saying, "Are you the one giving him a bath today?"
"He’s awake... of course he can wash himself!" Zong Lingxu stood up.
"Ah?" Zhang Yang exclaimed, looking at the young nurse and saying, "You haven't given me a bath, have you?"
"Not a chance!" The nurse replied, but her eyes sparkled with interest. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she shouted, "Ah, you're awake!"
"You just realized that?" Zhang Yang laughed again. "Hurry up and get the discharge paperwork done; I'm fine now."

"What should we do now?" Zong Lingxu asked as she held Zhang Yang's hand and walked to the hospital entrance.
"Do you remember the last time you traveled to Linan Province? When we arrived at Wuliang Mountain, you bumped into me right as we entered, and we didn't have much fun. How about we go again this time?" Zhang Yang said. In fact, he wanted to revisit Isolated Valley to see what it was really like.
He had entered Isolated Valley twice: once through a direct time-space jump and once by exploring it. However, the outcomes were vastly different; one time he ended up in the thirty-seventh year of the Republic Era, and the other in the Tang Dynasty. Zhang Yang had always suspected that Isolated Valley might be a chaotic intersection of time and space, but he had not uncovered any concrete answers during either visit.
He also wondered if bringing Zong Lingxu along this time would make a difference since both previous visits had only involved men. Would the balance of yin and yang lead to any significant discoveries?
"Going for fun? You must have some ulterior motive," Zong Lingxu joked.
"I've decided to tell you my secret," Zhang Yang replied, then proceeded to share a series of unbelievable experiences he had gone through with Zong Lingxu.
After listening, Zong Lingxu was speechless for quite a while.
Logically speaking, she shouldn't believe these things, but Zhang Yang clearly wasn't joking. They stood outside the hospital for a long time, attracting curious glances from passersby.
"Let's go. Are we going or not? We should find a quiet place to talk," Zhang Yang smiled.
"Yes! Let's go back and prepare right now!" Zong Lingxu suddenly shouted, startling Zhang Yang.
"Okay, okay, but no need to shout," Zhang Yang said.
The two then left. There wasn't much to prepare; they mainly packed a few clothes since they would be swimming from Great River into Stone Pool. Zong Lingxu even brought her swimsuit along.
That night, their flight landed at Mingzhou Airport in the capital of Linan Province. After resting for a night, they rented a car and headed towards Dachang Town near the Wuliang Mountain scenic area.
They stayed another night in Dachang Town and rested well. The next morning, they found a place for breakfast and planned to head to the banks of Great River afterward. Zhang Yang estimated that the location they were aiming for was not open to the public and would take about two to three hours to reach from the scenic area, so they should arrive before noon.
While they were having breakfast, the table suddenly shook violently, followed by increasingly intense vibrations.
Boom! A nearby dilapidated building collapsed with a loud crash!
"Earthquake!" a local shouted suddenly while eating, quickly standing up and running towards an open area.
Zhang Yang immediately grabbed Zong Lingxu and ran to a small open square.
The tremors were intense, and another building fell. Fortunately, it was morning, and many people rushed out of the buildings, gathering in the small square.
However, some people did not make it out.
The population of Dachang Town was around ten thousand, and this earthquake struck too suddenly, without warning, and with great force. Soon, large cracks appeared in the ground.
The shaking grew stronger, and almost all buildings showed signs of collapse.
The small square gradually became overcrowded. Zhang Yang led Zong Lingxu to the side of a main road, avoiding fallen power poles while keeping an eye on the situation.
The tremors came quickly and violently but subsided just as fast. After about ten minutes, everything stopped completely.
"Everyone stay calm; there may be aftershocks!" a middle-aged man shouted from a higher point in the square.
This earthquake was strange; the shaking was very strong, yet it seemed to only occur in this town, with no activity in the distance at all. This was Zhang Yang's observation afterward.
Even more bizarre was that there were no aftershocks at all; once the shaking stopped, everything remained calm as before.
"Wait for me; I’m going to rescue people!" Zhang Yang shouted to Zong Lingxu as he dashed toward the collapsed building.
"I'm going too!" Zong Lingxu did not hesitate. Since they were heading into the mountains, she was dressed in sportswear and wearing hiking shoes.
The wailing sirens sounded as several police cars arrived, followed by the blaring of horns from vehicles carrying Armed Police Officers.
After the earthquake, the rescue teams formed spontaneously by the crowd were naturally no match for the Armed Police Officers, but they still played a role. At the very least, they provided some comfort to those whose loved ones were still buried under the rubble.
The earthquake had struck too swiftly, and many of those trapped in the debris had already perished on the spot. The focus of the rescue teams was on locating any sounds coming from beneath the rubble. If there was sound, it meant there was still life!
Zhang Yang rushed to a five-story building. The exterior of this building was covered in large cracks, resembling a squashed loaf of bread. The staircase was on the verge of collapse, and windows and debris occasionally fell from above. What had once been a sturdy structure now seemed as if it could be blown down by a gust of wind.
To make matters worse, upon closer inspection, Zhang Yang noticed that the third floor had been flattened, leaving about half a meter of space due to the collapse of the fourth floor pressing down on it!
"Help... me..." Suddenly, a faint cry for help emerged from that half-meter gap.
Zhang Yang leaped onto a small platform outside the third floor and looked inside. To his surprise, he saw a woman with disheveled hair, still in her pajamas, clearly having encountered the earthquake before she could even get out of bed!
Upon closer inspection, Zhang Yang realized that the woman's belly was prominently rounded—she was pregnant!
Zhang Yang tried to push against the third floor with all his might, but it was compressed tightly and difficult to budge. Even if he could move it, there was a high risk of causing an accident. If things went wrong, it could result in two lives lost.
