Like an eagle but not quite an eagle, like a sparrow but not quite a sparrow, it had a bizarre shape, resembling something that was neither one nor the other.
The large black bird circled in the sky for a while before suddenly diving down rapidly, as if a hungry eagle had spotted a plump rabbit.
Its speed was astonishing, like a bolt of black lightning, shaking the heavens.
The black bird swiftly swooped down to the ground, its sharp beak aimed downward, and with a thunderous crash, it struck a massive boulder.
"My goodness! Could it be that its mate has been unfaithful? Why seek such a tragic end?" Seeing the bird's actions, Lingfeng couldn't help but feel regret. Just as he was about to approach to investigate, he was taken aback when the boulder shattered into pieces, and from within emerged a giant serpent—the Fire Serpent.
Lingfeng finally understood; this giant bird intended to devour the Fire Serpent.
Lingfeng remained still, thinking that while the mantis stalks the cicada, the yellow oriole is behind. Why not take advantage of their deadly struggle to seize the Fire Serpent's Inner Dan? Moreover, this large bird looked extraordinary; it must be some kind of spirit beast.

Before long, the giant bird flew back up again, violently flapping its shimmering wings. Two bolts of black lightning shot out directly from its wings toward the Fire Serpent.
The Fire Serpent showed no fear; it raised its head high and opened its mouth to unleash flames, forming a Fire Shield above itself.
"Boom!"
The lightning collided with the Fire Shield and was instantly neutralized.
The enraged bird let out a shrill cry and dove back down to the ground, its massive claws reaching for the Fire Serpent.
But the Fire Serpent was no fool; the giant bird's attack revealed many openings.
The Fire Serpent opened its large mouth just as the giant bird approached, suddenly spewing a torrent of flames that engulfed the giant bird.
Lingfeng watched from the side, feeling a surge of anxiety. He thought to himself that this giant bird was too foolish; the Fire Serpent's flames were unleashed freely, and this attack provided the perfect opportunity for the Fire Serpent.
However, the outcome was not what Lingfeng expected. The flames burned around the giant bird for a while, but there was no smoke rising from its body.
After a moment, there was a loud explosion, and all the flames erupted at once. The giant bird emerged from within like a phoenix reborn from the flames, its black feathers not singed at all but instead shining even more brilliantly in the sunlight.
The Fire Serpent was clearly stunned, not expecting that the giant bird had such abilities. It quickly turned and fled into the distance. The giant bird would not let it escape easily and pursued closely behind.
Seeing both spirit beasts running away, Lingfeng hurriedly followed. However, his speed was far inferior to that of the two spirit beasts, and soon he was left far behind.
The giant bird seemed to grow anxious, flying ahead of the Fire Serpent and circling in the air before suddenly diving down.
Seeing the giant bird attacking from the front, the Fire Serpent was frightened and quickly turned to flee, with both spirit beasts running back toward Lingfeng.
Lingfeng was alarmed and quickly stopped in his tracks. As he saw both spirit beasts rushing toward him, he turned to run back. He thought to himself that dealing with just one Fire Serpent was already difficult enough; if another strange bird came along, he wouldn't stand a chance.
But before he could find a hiding place, the giant bird lost patience. With a powerful flap of its wings, it vanished from sight, leaving only an afterimage.
Immediately after, all around the Fire Serpent were afterimages of the giant bird.
The giant serpent suddenly halted, clearly startled by the sudden appearance of so many giant birds. Just then, the giant bird swooped down, its claws resembling powerful pincers that seized the Fire Serpent.
One claw tightly gripped the Fire Serpent's vital point while the other claw clutched its abdomen firmly, rendering the Fire Serpent unable to move.
Lingfeng inwardly cursed his luck; he had hoped to benefit as a bystander, but now that the giant bird had captured the Fire Serpent, it would likely eat it, leaving him with no chance to obtain its core. Moreover, with how astonishingly fast and powerful the giant bird was, Lingfeng dared not step any closer.
In the midst of his silent lament, he suddenly heard the triumphant cry of the giant bird. With a powerful grip of its claws, it tore the Fire Serpent in half with a crack. Instantly, red blood gushed out, and internal organs spilled onto the ground. The giant bird seemed unaware of the Fire Serpent's Inner Dan and simply swallowed the Fire Serpent before flying away.
Lingfeng, seeing that the giant bird had disappeared, rushed to the vicinity of the Fire Serpent's innards. He quickly uncovered the Fire Serpent's Inner Dan and was overjoyed.

The giant bird had no idea what other tricks Lingfeng had up his sleeve; it only saw him standing there motionless with a terrified expression on his face. Thinking that another meal was at hand, it eagerly lunged at Lingfeng.
Lingfeng felt a surge of excitement; this was exactly what he wanted. Previously, when the Fire Serpent breathed fire at the giant bird, it couldn't harm it at all. But now with Gravel in hand, Lingfeng could unleash the power of Gold Manipulation effectively.
Just as the giant bird spread its claws and swooped down towards Lingfeng, Lingfeng had already seized the opportunity. He suddenly threw a stone from his hand, which shimmered with light; the ordinary stone was covered in Spiritual Energy.
The giant bird seemed unfazed by this situation. Instead, it accelerated, reaching the stone and lightly deflecting it with its wings.
With a resounding clang, the stone returned to its original state, and the Spiritual Energy on it was scattered. The giant bird, however, flipped several times in the air and suffered some setbacks.
Although this strike was somewhat successful, Lingfeng couldn't help but feel astonished. After all, he could effortlessly embed stones into solid rock, yet this giant bird managed to deflect the stone with just its wings without sustaining any injuries, demonstrating its formidable defense.
However, among the various Gold Manipulation Spells, one of the most energy-consuming and powerful was the Shatterstone Bullet. Due to its fierce nature and high energy consumption, Lingfeng would not use it lightly.
But now that Lingfeng was in danger, the immediate priority was to escape the giant bird's attack.
With this in mind, Lingfeng dared not hesitate any longer. He summoned a pile of stones and cast a Spell.
The giant bird naturally did not fear Lingfeng and launched a second wave of attack.

The giant bird then flapped its wings violently twice; both wings shimmered with spiritual light before unleashing several bolts of lightning. The lightning was slender and fierce, like countless sharp swords descending from the sky.
Lingfeng seized the opportunity and swung his left hand forcefully; a portion of the stones suddenly flew out. Their speed matched that of the lightning emitted by the giant bird.
In mid-air, each stone collided with a bolt of lightning, producing a thunderous roar.
The giant bird's lightning was effortlessly shattered, leaving it visibly startled. It then let out an enraged screech, spreading its massive claws as it lunged towards Lingfeng.
Lingfeng scoffed disdainfully, a hint of pride showing on his pale face. "You broken bird, is this all the Spell you can manage? You dare to come out and mix it up like this!" With that, he shouted, and the stones surrounding him suddenly erupted, as if they were soldiers eager to rush into battle.
As the giant bird drew closer, Lingfeng's expression darkened. The floating stones around him exploded all at once, forming a massive rock that thundered toward the giant bird.
The giant bird unleashed several bolts of lightning in succession. Although it scattered the stones, they were unaffected and under Lingfeng's control, flying back toward the giant bird once more.
The giant bird had not anticipated needing to dodge and completely underestimated Lingfeng. However, it had already exhausted all its strength and could do nothing against him. It attempted to flee, but it was too late.
Though the giant bird excelled at flying, it was still momentarily pulled downward due to inertia. Meanwhile, Lingfeng's stones accelerated rapidly, slicing through the sky as they flew toward the giant bird.
Lingfeng chuckled coldly as the giant bird let out a desperate cry. Suddenly, there was a deafening explosion in the air. The entire Red Stone Mountain began to tremble, with massive shockwaves shattering the stones on the ground.
The giant bird collided with countless Gravel. Even with its high cultivation level, it would be severely injured if not killed. Moreover, this giant bird had not yet transformed into human form and only knew one Spell; it was merely a spirit beast over two hundred years old.
Lingfeng's Shatterstone Bullet was not just an attacking Spell; these Gravel could be controlled upon encountering an enemy and would explode suddenly. This created countless smaller Gravel that would find any openings to penetrate. Despite the giant bird's strong defenses, its body naturally had vulnerabilities, allowing those fine Gravel to slip through and enter its body directly.
Lingfeng sighed in relief as there were no longer any traces of the giant bird in the sky, only a few dim feathers remaining. Upon closer inspection, he noticed a red orb!
