"Professor, what's wrong with you?" Lin Fan asked quickly when he noticed Professor Zhang's unusual expression.
"I'm fine, I'm fine..." Professor Zhang took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "If I'm not mistaken, there is likely a secret about Zombie Origin hidden behind this stone door!"
Lin Fan was taken aback by this revelation. Zombie Origin had always been one of the greatest mysteries in human society. If they could truly unravel this mystery, it would be a groundbreaking discovery that shocked the world!
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go in and take a look!" Lin Fan said as he moved to push the stone door.
"Wait!" Professor Zhang stopped him. "This stone door looks ancient and is filled with traps. We can't act recklessly; if we trigger any mechanisms, it could lead to unpredictable consequences!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Fan had no choice but to stop.
"What should we do then?" he asked.
Professor Zhang remained silent as he approached the stone door, carefully examining the patterns on it, hoping to find clues to open the door.
Meanwhile, outside the cave, Wang Qiang was quietly approaching the cave entrance with several members of the Anti-Zombie Organization...
Professor Zhang's fingers lightly brushed over the cold stone door; the uneven texture stirred something within him. "These patterns seem to be more than just decorations..." he muttered to himself, his gaze landing on a human figure holding a spear, with the spear pointing in a specific direction.
"Professor, are you saying... these patterns are some kind of hint?" Lin Fan followed Professor Zhang's gaze and suddenly understood.
"That's right," Professor Zhang nodded. "If my guess is correct, this should be an ancient mechanism. We need to touch these patterns in the correct order to open the stone door."
Xiao Tang seemed very interested in the patterns on the stone door; she reached out her small hand and curiously began to explore.
"Xiao Tang, don't mess around!" Lin Fan quickly stopped her, fearing she might accidentally trigger some mechanism.
Xiao Tang pouted in dissatisfaction but obediently withdrew her hand.
Professor Zhang carefully observed the patterns on the stone door, trying to find a rule among them. He noticed that among the many patterns, one was particularly striking: it resembled a sun and emitted a dazzling light, as if it were the core of all the patterns.
"I found it!" Professor Zhang pointed to the sun pattern and said, "If I'm not mistaken, this pattern should be the key to activating the mechanism!"
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's try it!" Lin Fan said eagerly.
"Wait!" Professor Zhang stopped him again. "We still don't know the order to activate the mechanism. If we act rashly, we could trigger something dangerous!"
"What should we do then?" Lin Fan asked anxiously.
Professor Zhang remained silent for a moment, deep in thought. His gaze fell once more on the pattern depicting humans battling Zombies, and a bold guess began to form in his mind...
Outside the cave, Wang Qiang and several subordinates had quietly approached the cave entrance. They hid in the shadows, observing the situation inside the cave, their weapons glinting ominously.
"Boss, should we rush in now?" one subordinate whispered.
Wang Qiang shook his head, signaling him to calm down. He stared fiercely into the cave, thinking to himself, "Lin Fan, Xiao Tang, enjoy your last moments. Soon, I will send you to hell!"
Inside the cave, Professor Zhang pointed at the figures of humans and Zombies in the pattern and slowly said, "If my guess is correct, the sequence to activate the mechanism should be hidden within this pattern..."
