On the most prosperous street of Spirit Martial Town, the lights were bright, and although it was nighttime, the crowd was as dense as during the day.
"Come in and have some fun, sir!"
"Hey there, come in for a drink and listen to some music!"
In front of a four-story pavilion, several heavily made-up women were posing and continuously calling out to passersby.
"Spring Breeze Tower!"
Among the crowd, a young man in a black cloak looked up at the plaque above the pavilion, his eyes flashing with a peculiar expression before he stepped inside.
"Welcome, young sir, please come upstairs." A Madam warmly approached him, eager to lead the young man up.
"Wait." The young man pushed aside the Madam's hand, adjusted his cloak, and quietly asked, "Has Young Master Xu been here tonight?"
Upon hearing Xu Ao's name, the Madam's eyes lit up. Xu Ao was the son of the Xu Family, one of the three major families in Spirit Martial Town, known for his extravagant spending. Over the years, he had spent no less than a thousand taels of gold at Spring Breeze Tower, making him one of their biggest patrons.
"I suppose his friends won't be lacking either..." The Madam had seen countless people and stole a glance at the young man. Although most of his face was hidden by the cloak, his extraordinary aura could not be concealed.
"Oh, young sir, you came at just the right time; Young Master Xu is upstairs in a private room listening to music. Shall I take you up?" The Madam offered to lead him.
"Thanks, just tell me which private room it is, and I'll go myself." The young man's voice was calm and devoid of any emotion.
Madam smiled broadly and said, "There's no need to be polite, let me take you there."
"I said it's unnecessary!" The boy's voice turned somewhat cold.
Madam was taken aback, seemingly not expecting the Black-Robed Youth to suddenly change his expression. However, for someone like her who had spent years navigating such situations, adaptability was a necessary skill. She chuckled lightly and said, "Xu Young Master is in the Fish-Water Pavilion upstairs. You can take your time; I won't disturb you. Just call for me if you need anything."
"Thanks." The boy's tone returned to calm as he headed upstairs alone.
Madam watched the boy's figure disappear upstairs, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes as she thought, "Why does Xu Young Master's friend seem different from the others this time..."
Just as Madam was lost in thought, a hand suddenly pressed down on her shoulder.
"Was that person just now looking for Young Master Xu?"
Madam turned around and saw another boy in a cloak. Like the previous one, he had half of his face covered by the cloak, and his speech was devoid of emotion. The only distinguishing feature between them was probably this one's short and stout build.
"Yes..." Madam nodded, somewhat surprised as she thought, "It seems that those looking for Xu Young Master today are not the typical debauched young masters..."
The Chubby Boy cupped his hands toward Madam and then glanced up at the platform above. After hesitating for a moment, he finally stepped forward.
...
A slightly thin boy stood wearing a large black cloak on the second floor of Spring Breeze Tower.
"Fish-Water Pavilion." The boy softly uttered these three words from his thin lips.
The door was closed, and inside, the lights were bright, filled with singing and dancing, accompanied by the swaying movements of several graceful figures, punctuated now and then by bursts of lewd laughter.
“Xu Ao...” Upon hearing that voice, the young man immediately identified the person inside; it had to be Xu Ao, without a doubt. How could he not recognize the voice of his enemy from the Blood Sea?
This young man was naturally Ye Tian, and tonight would be the moment for his revenge.
Knock, knock, knock.
The singing and dancing were interrupted by the sound of knocking. Xu Ao, who was caressing the face of a beauty in his arms, reluctantly stopped and impatiently said, “Who is it?”
Knock, knock, knock.
The knocking continued, but no one answered.
“Go.” Xu Ao pointed to the door, signaling a maid to open it.
Creak...
The door swung open, revealing a figure in a black robe that appeared before everyone’s eyes.
A hint of confusion crossed Xu Ao's ugly face as he complained, “Who are you to disturb my enjoyment?”
“I’m here to borrow something from you.” The voice was calm, devoid of any identifiable emotion.
“Borrow something from me?” Xu Ao looked around with a sneer forming in his eyes and said to the group of courtesans, “He says he wants to borrow something from me. Ha ha, what do you all think? Is that ridiculous?”
Everyone looked at each other, although they didn't know what was funny, they could only laugh along.
"Who are you? Do I know you?" Xu Ao said arrogantly, clearly displeased with the boy who had interrupted his 'elegance'.
"I know you," the boy replied calmly.
Hearing this, Xu Ao stretched his neck to take a closer look. Although the person's face was obscured by a cloak, there was something familiar about their figure.
"Who are you?" Xu Ao asked again.
"Can we talk privately for a moment?" The boy slightly lifted his head.
"Stop acting mysterious with me! Spit it out!" Xu Ao said impatiently.
"This matter concerns your life," the boy said coldly, a glint of cold light flashing in his eyes.
Although this statement seemed somewhat irrelevant, hearing it from this person made Xu Ao's body tremble.
"You all leave," Xu Ao waved his hand, signaling everyone to step back.
"Young master, we haven't had enough fun yet," a provocatively dressed woman said in a sultry voice.
Xu Ao's heart stirred; he reached out and touched the thigh of the Seductive Woman, leering as he said, "Sweetheart, be good and go down first. Later, I'll take good care of you, hehehe."
The Seductive Woman lightly spat and leaned into Xu Ao's embrace, her eyes sparkling with flirtation as she said, "No, Mei'er wants you to take care of me right now."
"Cough, cough." The young man lightly cleared his throat, unable to tolerate the shameless scene before him.
"Listen, darling, I can't run away." Xu Ao pushed aside the Seductive Woman and took out a gold ingot from his pocket, saying lewdly, "Take this, go clean yourself up and wait for me. I'll be there shortly."
The Seductive Woman's eyes instantly lit up as she eagerly grabbed the gold ingot, kissed Xu Ao on the cheek, and then excitedly left.
In an instant, all the maids and courtesans had departed, leaving only Xu Ao and the Black-Robed Youth in the Fish-Water Pavilion.
"You mentioned something about my life being at stake and wanting to borrow something from me?" Xu Ao put away his lewd demeanor and spoke seriously.
"That's right." The Black-Robed Youth nodded.
"Don't just answer me with one word for every question. You've already interrupted my good time. If you can't explain yourself properly, be careful that I make you regret it!" Xu Ao said fiercely.
Hearing this, the Black-Robed Youth chuckled softly, lifting his head slightly.
"Since you've come to find me, you should know my identity. There's no need for me to introduce myself again!" Seeing the indifferent expression on the latter's face, Xu Ao added. He felt a significant sense of superiority regarding his status.
In the entire Spirit Martial Town, the Xu Family was second only to the Wang Family and the Cold Family.
"Haha, of course I know." The Black-Robed Youth sneered. At this moment, he fully raised his head, revealing a somewhat gaunt face beneath his cloak that came into view in Xu Ao's eyes.
"You are..." The more Xu Ao looked, the more familiar he felt; a vague figure was slowly becoming clearer in his mind.
Whoosh!
The strong wind blew fiercely as the Black-Robed Youth appeared before Xu Ao in the blink of an eye, his palm glowing with blue light, ready to deliver a lethal strike.
“It’s you!” Xu Ao exclaimed, unable to forget the blue lightning that had caused him to fall from grace in front of thousands in Spirit Martial Town. That was the Bagua Thunder Palm!
“Indeed, it’s me.” The youth slowly lifted the hood of his cloak, revealing a pair of pitch-black eyes.
This person was Ye Tian.
“What do you want?!” Xu Ao shouted angrily, retreating swiftly.
“I told you, I’m borrowing something from you.” Ye Tian advanced slowly.
“Hah, borrowing something from me? Have you been kicked out by the Cold Family?” Xu Ao sneered mockingly. Although he was reckless and showed no fear in front of the clearly stronger Ye Tian, he still had some pride.
“You still have some backbone!” Ye Tian was slightly surprised by Xu Ao's reaction. Back then, when he was at a disadvantage, he could still defeat Xu Ao. Now that he had surpassed him by a significant margin and with the Yuqi Tayan Jue, it would be easy to eliminate him. He didn’t expect Xu Ao to not only be unafraid but also daring enough to mock him; this was certainly much better than his brother who had begged for mercy.
“Stop wasting time! What do you want to borrow?!” Xu Ao seemed unaware of Ye Tian's murderous intent.
“I want to borrow your head!” Ye Tian shouted fiercely as he unleashed the Bagua Thunder Palm.
This palm strike, infused with the power of thunder, lit up the entire Fish-Water Pavilion, its momentum terrifying.
Xu Ao was taken aback and used all his strength to dodge, beads of cold sweat instantly forming on his forehead.
“You want to kill me?!” Xu Ao asked in shock.
"What's wrong? Am I not supposed to kill you?" Ye Tian sneered and continued his attack.
"Why?" Xu Ao, knowing he was no match for Ye Tian, put on an innocent expression.
"Revenge!"
With a loud crash, the Thunder Palm grazed Xu Ao's body, instantly reducing a rosewood chair to dust.
"What grudge do we have? Just because of the Martial Arts Selection Tournament, you want to kill me?" Xu Ao clutched his painfully aching chest, continuing to feign innocence.
Although that palm only brushed past him, the terrifying power of the Thunder Palm still caused him intense pain and discomfort in his chest.
"You should know why!" Ye Tian shouted coldly. "Today is your day of death!"
