After both sides struck, they felt surprised and stood still, stabilizing their forms while waiting for an opportunity.
"Be careful, Young Master Leaf! His technique is quite strange!" Fifth Brother warned, as the previous brothers had perished under the unpredictable Ghost Shadow Splitting Technique.
Ye Tian nodded solemnly upon hearing this. Hu Lue's ability to freely switch between several phantoms was a significant headache for Ye Tian.
"Kid, with your current abilities, it seems you're still a bit lacking if you want to kill me," Hu Lue said, noticing Ye Tian's serious expression. He chose to say "a bit lacking" instead of "far from it" because the former implied a degree of certainty, subconsciously suggesting that with more training, surpassing him was only a matter of time.
Of course, he didn't say this to belittle himself but rather to set the stage for his next statement.
"Our conflict benefits neither of us; wouldn't it be wonderful if we joined forces?" Hu Lue looked at Ye Tian, paused for a moment, and continued, "Based on my experience, guiding you to a higher level would be easy. At that time, we can reorganize Black Wind Stronghold and wreak havoc everywhere. Not to mention Qingyuan Town; even Spirit Martial Town will surely fall into our hands!"
After finishing his speech, Hu Lue appeared somewhat excited and stared at Ye Tian, waiting for a response. Ye Tian scoffed dismissively and did not reply.

"Do you think everything must have benefits in your eyes?" Ye Tian scoffed and asked disdainfully.
"Of course! If one doesn't act for oneself, heaven will punish them!" Hu Lue answered without hesitation.
"Ha ha, what benefits can you offer me?" Ye Tian asked with a faint smile.
Hu Lue was overjoyed upon hearing this. He quickly stepped forward and said, "There are many benefits! First of all, the position of Second-in-Command at Black Wind Stronghold is yours for the taking. Then there will be treasures galore, and I can also help you improve your martial arts skills. There’s much more, but I won’t elaborate; you’ll understand in due time!"
"Oh~" Ye Tian replied in a tone that suggested he understood, looking at Hu Lue and chuckling lightly.
"What do you think? If you find it acceptable, we can set off immediately to take down the Zhang Family in Qingyuan Town, securing a foundation for our survival before we rise again," Hu Lue said excitedly, already envisioning using Ye Tian to seize territory.

Hu Lue mistakenly thought that Ye Tian's change in attitude was due to his lack of commitment to the group.

"Leaf Young Master, did you just alert the snake while striking the grass?" Fifth Brother asked as he noticed Ye Tian giving up the chase.
"It's fine; he won't escape," Ye Tian replied calmly.
Fifth Brother nodded, still half-convinced.
"Better to be cautious," Fifth Brother said after nodding but remained uneasy. He had felt earlier that Hu Lue couldn't have been so easily hit by Ye Tian. It wasn't until he saw Hu Lue using Ye Tian's force to escape that he confirmed his suspicions. However, if they pretended not to notice that Hu Lue was feigning defeat, perhaps Ye Tian could indeed have a chance to strike him down with Yuqi Tayan Jue. But since Ye Tian openly called him out, Hu Lue became aware and quickly hid himself. Given Hu Lue's peculiar martial arts skills, finding him would not only be difficult but also highly risky.
