Time passed slowly, and the atmosphere in the guest room was extremely awkward. Ye Tian was lying on the bed to sober up, while Bai Kuo kept drinking tea, his face filled with shame.

The man who called himself Dong Qi's expression turned cold, but he ultimately could not think of any retort. Indeed, he was a bandit who occupied a small place called Huanggang Ridge.
"Why would a bandit trouble me instead of robbing others?" Ye Tian tilted his head and smiled as he looked at Dong Qi. The man appeared to be around forty years old, dressed in black clothing with a robust figure. Dong Qi did not respond, but one of the other four shouted back. These four were also dressed in black and appeared to be around twenty years old, slightly older than Ye Tian. I will surely repay you in the future," Ye Tian said with a smile and cupped his hands in a gesture of respect, though his expression did not seem like he was begging for mercy; instead, it carried a hint of mockery and threat.
"Although I, Dong Qi, may not be well-known in Divine Wood County, I value integrity in my dealings. Since I have accepted money from my employer, how could I possibly commit such a disgraceful act?" Dong Qi raised an eyebrow, clearly insulted by Ye Tian's words.
"Alright then, if that's the case, I can only attempt to escape again," Ye Tian waved his hand as if preparing to flee once more.
The group that had been chasing Ye Tian was already exhausted from the pursuit. Now that Ye Tian had finally stopped on his own, they could not let him escape easily again. "Ha ha, it's not bad." Ye Tian did not downplay himself. After a pause, he teased, "But compared to someone like you who is successful in your career, I'm still far behind."
Dong Qi was taken aback by the words, then quickly reacted and couldn't help but chuckle, "Oh... what are you talking about success? I only have a hundred or so people under me; life is tough."
"Ha ha, truly humble." Ye Tian could see at a glance that Dong Qi was lying. If he really had a hundred or so people under him, would he need to personally come out to deal with someone like himself?
