Ye Tian suddenly expressed his emotions, startling the two and causing them to look at him in astonishment.
After a moment of reaction, Huang Tiange said, "How can you be so ungrateful?"
Withered Man took over the conversation, saying, "That's right, truly heartless."
"Master has been kind to me; he hasn't harmed me." Ye Tian regained his calm. He could see and hear that these two were deeply at odds with Cloudscar and the Four Great Cloud Halls Lord.
The two scoffed simultaneously, looking at Ye Tian as if he were a fool for a while before falling silent.
Ye Tian ignored them and sat down by himself, beginning to ponder what methods Elder Dou had used to frame him.
Lost in thought, he eventually fell into a deep sleep. Being in the dungeon, he had no sense of whether it was day or night; he only knew that after a few hours, someone finally arrived.
"You bastard, how dare you come here!"
"I'll kill you!"
The shouting of the two woke Ye Tian, who rubbed his eyes and saw that the visitor was none other than Xuanyuan Changfeng.
"I greet both Guardians." Xuanyuan Changfeng paid no attention to their insults and politely bowed.
"Stop with that crap! If you still consider me a Guardian, then let us out!" the two shouted loudly.
Afterward, Xuanyuan Changfeng ignored them and approached Ye Tian's cell door.
Ye Tian hurriedly stepped forward and asked, "Master, what is going on?"
"I apologize for your suffering; however, I believe you have been framed." A hint of sadness appeared on Xuanyuan Changfeng's face, as the massacre of Cloudscroll Pavilion was directly related to him.
"Master, I'm fine." Ye Tian wanted to offer some comforting words but didn't know what to say as he glanced at Withered Man and Short Man, who were still cursing.
Seeing this, Xuanyuan Changfeng said, "What did they tell you?"
After hesitating for a moment, Ye Tian nodded. Regarding Cloudscar's act of killing his master, he believed there must be hidden reasons behind it, but he still couldn't bury it deep in his heart. He hoped to hear a reasonable explanation to soothe his mind. After all, for Cloudscar, Xuanyuan Changfeng, and Qin Fufeng—those he respected—he didn't want to leave any blemish.
"What they said is true, but you have to believe that we had our reasons for doing so," Xuanyuan Changfeng sighed. He couldn't say too much because it was a top secret of the Cloud Sea Sect; aside from Cloudscar, no one else was qualified to disclose it.
"I understand. Master, you don't need to worry about me; just handle the matters outside first," Ye Tian replied.
Xuanyuan Changfeng looked at Ye Tian and remained silent for a long time. After about the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, he sighed again and said, "Don't overthink it. Don't delay your cultivation here either. Once your name is cleared, the Test of the Pavilion will begin."
"Okay." Ye Tian nodded. He could tell from Xuanyuan Changfeng's words that regarding the Test of the Pavilion, Xuanyuan Changfeng still hoped that the victor would be Ye Tian.
After that, Xuanyuan Changfeng left, and it was unclear how much time passed before someone else arrived.
This time, Withered and Short Man were furious, cursing loudly with extremely harsh words, not sparing even their ancestors.
Ye Tianxin was puzzled and wondered who could make them hate like this. After a moment, he suddenly realized that the only one who could evoke such hatred in them was probably Master of Yunhai Sect Cloudscar.
Sure enough, shortly after, Cloudscar appeared before them.
He wore a faint smile and paid no attention to their insults.
Although Short Man was sharp-tongued, at this moment he was so hoarse from cursing that he simply stopped and spat out a thick phlegm with a loud "huh."
Cloudscar frowned slightly and looked at him after dodging the spit.
"What are you doing? If you have the guts, kill me!" Huang Tiange shouted.
"Kill him!" Withered Man also yelled in anger. However, after shouting, he felt something was off and quickly changed his words: "Kill us!"
"I won't kill you; you are innocent. However, I cannot let you go either. This is my apology as Cloudscar to both of you."
Upon hearing this, Ye Tian also frowned slightly. From Cloudscar's words, it seemed that the matter of the master’s murder was far more complicated than he had imagined.
"Ye Tian, do you know your crime?"
Afterward, Cloudscar no longer paid attention to the others but turned his gaze to Ye Tian and asked coldly.
This was the first time Ye Tian had seen Cloudscar speak in such a frigid tone, yet he did not feel any pressure emanating from him.
This was unusual because with Cloudscar's strength, if he were to become angry, a domineering aura would surely be revealed.
"In response to the Sect Master, I am innocent."
"Do you deny it?" Cloudscar asked again.
"It’s not denial; it’s innocence," Ye Tian replied calmly. He was indeed innocent, and even under torture, he would not be coerced into a confession.
"Then why was a letter plotting against Xuanyuan Changfeng found in Elder Dou's residence?" Cloudscar flicked his sleeve and placed his hands behind his back.
"Plotting? Letter? What letter?" Ye Tian asked in confusion.
Before Ye Tian could finish speaking, Cloudscar took out a letter from his robe. "Take a look for yourself."
Ye Tian took the letter and opened it, only to be stunned. The contents were all about plotting to harm Xuanyuan Changfeng, and at the end, it was signed with "Ye Tian." More importantly, the handwriting on the letter was unmistakably his own.
"This is impossible!" Ye Tian's mind buzzed. He had never written this letter nor harbored any thoughts of harming Xuanyuan Changfeng. Where did this letter come from?
"The evidence is right before your eyes; whether it's possible or not is not for you to decide. The evidence is irrefutable; do you still want to argue?" Cloudscar snorted coldly and added, "Moreover, you are too naive. Do you really think you could harm Xuan Yuan Senior Brother? He has already mastered secret techniques; without Thunder Prison Heavenly Calamity Inducement, you wouldn't be able to kill him at all."
Hearing this, Ye Tian was completely bewildered, but the two others exchanged glances with a hint of understanding.
"I really didn’t write it; that letter isn’t mine! How could I want to harm my master?" Ye Tian was now dazed by the letter supposedly written by himself and continued to argue loudly, completely overlooking some minor details.
"Don't say anything more. Just reflect on your actions here. Although you don't deserve death, you will face at least three years, or at most ten years, in prison; there's no way to escape that," Cloudscar said before turning to leave, disappearing completely shortly after.
Once Cloudscar was gone, Ye Tian was left in a daze, but being a clever person, he quickly noticed something unusual.
Who was Cloudscar? How could he casually imprison the newly risen talent of Cloud Sea Sect just because of a letter? He must have some other plans.
While Ye Tian was deep in thought, Short Man rolled his eyes and said, "Kid, from what that bastard Cloudscar said, it sounds like you might still get released."
"Maybe," Ye Tian replied, not wanting to engage with him.
"And then what? What are your plans after being released?" Withered Man asked.
Ye Tian sensed that these two seemed to have something they wanted to say. After glancing at them a few times, he confirmed this idea from their expressions.
"What do you think I should do once I'm released?" Ye Tian began to probe.
"Well, that's obvious—revenge! Don't you want to kill Xuanyuan Changfeng? The first thing you should do after getting out is to take him down, then go after that little bastard Qin Fufeng, and then kill that dog Peng Suoming..."
At this point, Withered Man interrupted excitedly and continued, "Don't kill Duan Tiande; just castrate him. As for Cloudscar, if you can manage it, tear him apart and feed him to the dogs."
Hearing this, Ye Tian was taken aback. They really hated Cloudscar and the Four Great Sect Masters.
"I don't have that kind of ability," Ye Tian continued to bait them.
"I'll teach you how!" Huang Tiange exclaimed excitedly.
"Yes, yes! We can teach you Thunder Prison Heavenly Calamity Inducement. We can both help you with that," Withered Man chimed in, looking overjoyed as if the matter of revenge rested entirely on Ye Tian's shoulders.
"But what is Thunder Prison Heavenly Calamity Inducement?" Ye Tian feigned confusion. Even a fool could tell that Thunder Prison Heavenly Calamity Inducement was an extremely powerful martial art.
"It's Celestial Level martial arts."
"Unmatched Power."
The two sang in harmony, feeling quite pleased with themselves.
"Come on, if it were really Unmatched Power, would you still be locked up here?"
"You just don't understand. We chose to be locked up here voluntarily," Huang Tiange said.
"Pfft, who believes that?" Ye Tian scoffed.
"Forget it, Old Huang, stop trying to fool him. We still need his help for revenge, so we should tell the truth." Withered Man said with apparent conscience: "Thunder Prison Eternal Induction is indeed Celestial Level martial arts, but it can't compare to Extreme Martial Arts Thousand Clouds, which is why we're stuck here."
Withered Man spoke the truth, and Huang Tiange no longer hid anything. He sighed and said, "There probably aren't many loyal people like us left. Back then, after being thrown into the dungeon, Cloudscar tried every way to extract the secret of Thunder Prison Eternal Induction from us, but we never revealed it. So here we are, decades later."
He seemed to have endless sentiments but showed no signs of regret.
"I see now," Ye Tian thought to himself, suddenly understanding. The reason Cloudscar wanted him locked up here, along with the previous words spoken, was to make these two simple-minded fellows pin their hopes for revenge on him. Then they would teach him Thunder Prison Eternal Induction.
"From their expressions, although they are imprisoned in the dungeon, they don't seem to have suffered any persecution. Coupled with Cloudscar's earlier words, these two must have been deceived into being locked up here. However, they are simple-minded and believe that Cloudscar is the villain. If released, they would definitely cause a ruckus at Cloud Sea Sect. Moreover, their strength is clearly formidable; if let loose, they might create some earth-shattering incident."
Thinking of this, Ye Tian nodded and said, "Alright, I promise you both. Teach me Thunder Prison Eternal Induction, and when I get out, I will avenge you."
