Mario sat up nervously from the bed, feeling the back of his shirt soaked through. His limbs were numb, as if he had just crawled out of icy water. He anxiously felt around the edge of the bed, confirming that he was indeed in his own room, not endlessly falling into that terrifying bottomless black hole. Mario gasped, trying to calm his emotions, but his mind was filled with anger and confusion.
He kept pondering the meaning of that dream, wondering if the prophecy of the dead old man was mocking him. Did it signify some kind of misfortune in his future? Was the black hole in the dream and Kuba's strange behavior a challenge to him, or a prediction of his future fate?
All the unresolved issues and fears weighed heavily on Mario's mind. He knew this was not just an ordinary nightmare; it might be a premonition of the challenges he was about to face. But Mario also understood that no matter how many difficulties and obstacles lay ahead, as the king of the Mushroom Kingdom, he had to face them and overcome them. He took a deep breath, trying to turn this fear into the driving force to move forward, determined not to let those ominous prophecies become reality.
Mario was about to head to the sink to wash away the cold sweat and unease when suddenly, a soldier rushed into the room as if being chased. He was panting, pale, and extremely agitated. Outside the tent, there was a vague sound of soldiers, with exclamations, whispers, and uneasy discussions, as if something unexpected had happened in the camp.
Mario immediately felt something was wrong, his brow furrowed tightly. He knew that at this critical moment, any small disturbance could affect the morale of the entire army and the battle plan. He quickly put on his coat and turned to the soldier, saying, "What's happening? What's going on outside?" His voice carried an unmistakable sense of authority and urgency, demanding an immediate report on the situation.
The soldier, observing Mario's reaction, became even more nervous. Trembling, he said, "Sir... I really don't know how to describe it. This situation... I've never seen anything like it. You may need to see it for yourself." His voice was filled with panic and uncertainty, as if he himself couldn't comprehend what he had seen.
Mario Upon hearing the soldier's words, he immediately felt a sense of foreboding. He hastily donned his battle robe, his expression turning serious. He knew deep down that if the situation was as the soldier described, it was definitely not a trivial matter and could pose an unprecedented threat to the entire Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario nodded, knowing that hesitation at this moment would only worsen the situation. He firmly said, "Lead the way." Immediately, he followed the soldier out of the tent, heading towards the camp's walls.
When Mario stood on the temporary wall, the surrounding soldiers naturally made way for him, their fear and tension evident on their faces. Mario's gaze pierced through the crowded people and landed on the vast expanse outside the wall. He had expected to see the walls and towers of the Koopa Kingdom, even a battlefield ablaze with fire. However, as his sight crossed the wall, the scene before him completely shocked him.
The frontline, which should have been the bustling border of the Koopa Kingdom, had now become a massive hole, seemingly bottomless. The diameter of this hole was so wide that it seemed as if the existence of the Koopa Kingdom had been completely erased from this continent, as if it had never existed. Cracks snaked around the ground, as if the earth had suffered irreparable wounds in this place.
Mario Mario was shocked beyond words. He had never imagined he would witness such a scene. The enormous hole not only symbolized the disappearance of the Koopa Kingdom, but also represented the loss of countless lives and unforeseen threats. The soldiers on the wall silently gazed into the abyss, unable to meet each other's eyes, as if afraid to see their own panic reflected in their comrades' gazes.
Mario Standing on the makeshift wall, the sight before him filled him with extreme anxiety. The unprecedented giant hole left him at a loss. However, as he turned to look at the soldiers waiting for his instructions, he knew deep down that as the leader of the kingdom, he could not show any signs of fear.
Mario strives to make his voice sound firm and powerful. He said to the soldiers, "Everyone must stay strong. Our enemies have suffered a natural disaster because of their wickedness. It is God's punishment!" His words attempted to give the soldiers confidence, to make them believe that everything has a reason and that the difficulties can be overcome.
Although Mario was filled with doubt and fear, he knew that at this moment, he had to be a strong fortress in the hearts of the soldiers. He tried to suppress his own anxiety, and for the kingdom and his people, Mario presented an image of a fearless leader.
As Mario tried to reassure the soldiers with firm words, one soldier's words were like a bombshell, stirring up waves in the already suppressed atmosphere. He loudly voiced the panic in everyone's hearts: "No... our troops, our entire force, have all been... devoured?" This statement was like opening Pandora's box, instantly igniting panic in the soldiers' hearts.
The scene became extremely chaotic for a moment, with some soldiers starting to push each other, some loudly calling for forgiveness from a higher power, their voices filled with fear and despair: "I'm not guilty! Forgive me, God!" Others refused to believe it, countering with almost screaming voices: "This can't be... this absolutely can't be..."
Mario stood on top of the temporary wall, looking down at the chaos below. The soldiers' fear, despair, and distrust intertwined, making the once steadfast army appear incredibly fragile in an instant. Mario couldn't help but feel a surge of inexplicable emotions in his heart. What on earth was going on? Why did such a huge black hole suddenly appear, swallowing their forces? At this moment, Mario, even as the leader of the kingdom, felt a hint of powerlessness and confusion.
