"Let's assume this isn't the work of ghosts, but rather a computer expert manipulating everything," Lingfeng said, looking at me. 0

"Then A-Jian has been testing it, right? He couldn't find the cause." I was halfway through my sentence when I saw the flicker in Lingfeng's eyes, and a spark flashed in my mind: "What if A-Jian is also being controlled by the script..." 0

Lingfeng nodded slowly. "That's one possibility. Another possibility is that A-Jian is one of the planners behind this website." 0

Although this was just speculation between Lingfeng and me, and we weren't sure if our guess was correct, it felt like seeing a glimmer of light in the darkness. The feeling of not knowing who the enemy was was too uncomfortable. 0

"Next, I'll go scare him with Fatty!" I pulled out my old trick. 0

Lingfeng shook his head with a smile. "If A-Jian is involved in all this, then his ability to play tricks might be on par with yours. Can you really scare him?" 0

If A-Jian is the planner, then his ability to devise tricks is definitely above mine. Lingfeng's comment about being on par was merely to comfort me. At least for now, I was terrified by this series of events. 0

I chuckled awkwardly. "What do you suggest?" 0

Lingfeng handed me a cigarette and said, "I'll go find my grandfather and see if we can get one of our family's computer experts to help." 0

Seeing my skeptical expression, Lingfeng laughed. "The reason I didn't mention this expert before is that they are quite difficult to deal with. Moreover, their status in our family far exceeds mine; only my grandfather can ask them to do something. To put it another way, they are a key protected individual by the state, so whether we can get them to help is still uncertain." 0

"Wow, this senior must be impressive!" I genuinely admired. What does it mean to have a golden rice bowl? This is what a golden rice bowl looks like. A key protected individual by the state—just thinking about it is impressive. 0

"Senior?" Lingfeng chuckled in disbelief. "She's only 16! My aunt's daughter, Cui Gu Yi—the Cui from Cui Yongyuan, and 'Gu' as in ancient." 0

Lingfeng's words shocked me three times! First shock: this computer genius is only 16 years old? When I was 16, I was still playing with learning machines. Second shock: this computer genius is a girl? In my impression, boys were usually obsessed with computers while girls preferred dolls. Third shock: her name is quite strange—Cui Gu Yi. What does that mean? Is it 'Unique Wonder of the Ages'? If so, Mr. Cui, could you please explain? 0

"Surprised?" Lingfeng smiled. 0

"Definitely surprised," I admitted without hesitation. "I'm curious about how impressive she really is." 0

I didn't think for a second that Lingfeng was exaggerating; at his level, he didn't need to boast about anything anymore. Besides, we were brothers—he wouldn't fool me. 0

"Whether we can ask her for help is still uncertain; if we do manage to get her assistance, you'll see for yourself," Lingfeng said as he patted my shoulder. "For now, you should go report for work according to the script 'Isolated from the World'." 0

"Alright then." I forced a smile and said, "Tomorrow at nine in the morning, but I'm not sure if I can even get up by then." 0

Golden Peak Building is located in the bustling area of Yuhua District, with a total of 58 floors divided into two sections, A and B. The building resembles the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, forming an 'h' shape. Golden Blade Advertising Company is situated on the 6th floor; both sections A and B have six floors since it happens to be on the horizontal bar of the 'h'. The corridor in the middle of the building has been transformed into a Coffee Room for Golden Blade Advertising employees, showcasing its lavishness. 0

I hesitated downstairs, wondering whether the company's reception was in section A or B. In the end, I decided on section A; the pronunciation of B didn't sound harmonious. 0

After registering in the lobby downstairs, I took the elevator directly to the 6th floor. Stepping out of the elevator led me into a spacious hall, decorated in a very bright style and impressively large. In such a prime location, having such a large reception area was not just wasteful; it was downright extravagant. 0

On the background wall of the hall were several large characters reading "Golden Blade Advertising," written by a well-known calligrapher from Star City. Below it sat two beautiful receptionists; one was answering a phone call with a pleasant voice. 0

As I approached, the other beauty stood up and smiled, "Welcome to Golden Blade Advertising. How may I assist you?" Her smile was radiant, and she had a charming dimple on her left cheek. 0

I replied with a smile, "We're here to check in!" 0

"Check in?" The Dimpled Beauty furrowed her brows slightly and then smiled at us again, saying, "Please hold on a moment; I'll call the HR department. I haven't received any notification about anyone checking in today." 0

I suddenly felt a bit awkward. While she was on the phone, I leaned closer to Fatty and whispered, "Are there any other advertising companies called Golden Blade in Star City?" 0

Fatty looked surprised and said, "There is one more—Golden Path Advertising Production Company—but that company specializes in outdoor printing installation. Working there wouldn't count as being an executive." 0

At that moment, Dimpled Beauty covered the mouthpiece and asked, "May I ask what position you are checking in for?" 0

"Design... Director." I couldn't help but curse inwardly; I know nothing about design. 0

After chatting for a moment, she hung up the phone and looked at us with an odd expression. 0

I felt uneasy inside; this could turn embarrassing. Sure enough, Dimpled Beauty said, "I'm sorry, but our HR department currently has no plans to hire a Design Director. Did you perhaps come to the wrong company?" 0

Both of us turned pale and flushed simultaneously, wanting to leave without saying another word when my phone rang again—another call with no number displayed. 0

"Did you check in?" came a voice from the other end that sounded isolated from the world. 0

"Your sister! There's no such thing; there was never a plan to hire a Design Director." I walked to a corner and cursed quietly. 0

"Hahaha, you really are the Design Director. I just said that casually!" Isolated from the World laughed heartily. 0

"Are you messing with me?" I gritted my teeth. 0

"Yes, I'm messing with you. What are you going to do about it? If you dare to say you're not playing anymore, I'll kill Guo'er!" Isolated from the World showed no mercy, slapping me in the face with his words. 0

Anger surged within me, but thinking of Guo'er still being in his hands, I had no choice but to take deep breaths repeatedly before asking, "So are you going to continue with your script?" 0

Isolated from the World stopped laughing after a while: "Of course we're continuing. I was wrong earlier; the position I negotiated for you is Loss Prevention Manager, which basically means you're a security chief. Now go report for duty." 0

I hung up the phone angrily and walked back to the front desk. The receptionist who had been on the phone had already hung up as well. Seeing us approach, both of them looked at us curiously. 0

"I'm sorry, I remembered incorrectly earlier; the position I'm reporting for is Loss Prevention Manager," I said, scratching my head. 0

The two receptionists exchanged glances, seemingly wanting to laugh but holding back. In the end, it was the Dimpled Beauty who confirmed my name. This time it was indeed real, and after going through the necessary procedures, over an hour later, a personnel clerk led me and Fatty into the Loss Prevention Department office. 0

The office was about thirty square meters with five desks inside; three of them were occupied. After a brief introduction from the personnel clerk, he left. The three people greeted me enthusiastically: "Boss!" 0

The slightly older one was called A-Dong, the one with thick eyebrows and big eyes was A Long, and the one with a beard was Amin. I closed the door, took out some cigarettes, tossed one to each of them, and said with a smile, "Do you have any cards? Let's play some poker." 0

The three exchanged glances and then cheered. 0

The first day at work passed in such boredom. Normally, as a newly appointed boss, I should treat everyone to a meal. However, thinking about the consequences of getting drunk made me pretend not to understand the rules and leave right after work. 0

I familiarized myself with the company's layout; it was like any normal advertising company with design, creative, customer service departments, etc. The only unusual thing was an office next to the general manager's room that was always closed; I had no idea who worked inside. 0

Strangely enough, Isolated from the World didn't call me to tell me what to do. This left me feeling conflicted; on one hand, I worried about Guo'er, and on the other hand, I feared that Isolated from the World would use Guo'er to coerce me into assaulting An Ran. 0

Damn it! What if Isolated from the World really threatened me like that? What should I do? 0

There had been no news from Lingfeng either, which made me even more restless—like being pushed to the edge of a cliff without being pushed off. That feeling of worry and fear is hard to describe. 0

Three days later, the first one to contact me was Isolated from the World. 0

"How's it going? Manager Zhong, have you gotten into character yet?" Isolated from the World's mechanical synthetic voice made me feel uncomfortable all over. 0

"Just tell me what you want me to do next," I replied expressionlessly. I was in the office, and my lack of visible emotions didn't seem very boss-like. 0

"I've been really busy these past few days. Bringing Fatty's dream girl to Star City isn't easy at all." There was a sigh from the other end of the line. 0

Damn, this guy must have found An Ran and somehow managed to bring her back to Star City. Motherfucker, just keep talking; I didn't say a word. 0

"With determination, I finally moved Fatty's goddess. In a couple of days, she'll be coming to Star City for a fan meeting, and the event will be fully executed by your Golden Blade Advertising. As for how it will go down, I'll let you know later." 0

"Wait, wait!" I was greatly surprised. An Ran is having a fan meeting? What does this motherfucker mean? I asked repeatedly, "What fan meeting?" 0

"Hey, isn't Fatty's dream girl Master Cang? She's quite famous now. It took a lot of effort to get her to come to Star City. Tsk tsk, not only am I the screenwriter, but I'm also the director, and now I'm doubling as the producer and stage manager. Who knows, I might even have to handle photography in the future. Just thinking about it gives me a headache; maybe I should retire?" Isolated from the World droned on before hanging up. 0

What? Isolated from the World actually thought Fatty's dream girl was Master Cang? What on earth is going on? I quickly called Fatty to a secluded corner. 0
