In rhetorical techniques, a pleasant voice is generally used to describe women, such as the singing of a yellow oriole or the chirping of swallows, but rarely is a man's voice described in such a way. 0

Forgive me for my language, as it was taught by Master Cang. At this moment, besides saying it sounds wonderful, I truly cannot find any other words to describe this person's voice. This voice is not only filled with masculine magnetism and charm but also carries an alluring quality. Damn it, I'm a man; why am I so stirred by another man's voice? 0

What reaction would a woman have upon hearing it? I couldn't help but glance at Aijia Yu, and sure enough, a fleeting look of enchantment passed through her eyes. It’s worth noting that Aijia Yu is an exceptional expert; one who practices martial arts must first cultivate the mind. The deeper the martial arts attainments, the more resilient the mind becomes. For Aijia Yu to be so captivated, the owner of this voice must be extraordinary. 0

Lean Man stepped back upon hearing this voice and smiled slightly at us. "Please come in!" 0

I hesitated for a moment and glanced at Kong Ai and the others. Surely there couldn’t be any tricks here? They both turned their gaze toward me with questioning expressions. 0

Damn, I almost forgot; I am the captain. 0

Clearing my throat lightly, I strode confidently through the door. Under the guidance of Mo Lu, we proceeded forward. 0

The courtyard is divided into two parts: the front consists of a reception room and servant quarters, while further inside through the corridor leads directly to the Inner Hall, where the master and family typically reside. 0

As we walked, I pondered to myself; aren’t guests usually received in the reception room? Who brings someone directly into the Inner Hall? This felt quite strange, akin to visiting a stranger's home where instead of being welcomed in the living room, you are taken straight into their bedroom—it's like playing a game of chance. 0

There was also something else that puzzled me. If this master was speaking from such a distance outside, then wow! That clearly indicates he is a martial arts master capable of transmitting his voice over great distances. Damn it, I couldn't help but curse myself for even considering such an unreliable notion. Mo Lu led us to one of the doors in the Inner Hall and gently knocked. The door emitted a sound like metal striking metal; evidently, this door was not as simple as it appeared. 0

"Come in!" The soft voice from earlier rang out again. 0

The door opened, and we stepped over a half-foot high threshold. Mo Lu did not follow us inside but closed the door behind us. 0
The room was large, divided into two sections: front and back. The back room was obscured by a hanging yellow curtain, and I could vaguely see a bed inside. The front room had little furniture—just a bookshelf, a dresser, and a round table with four round stools. One of the stools facing the door was occupied by an extremely handsome man in black. 0

It was strange; I couldn't determine his age. Judging by his appearance, he looked to be in his twenties, but his demeanor suggested he could be in his thirties or forties. The man in black looked at me with a half-smile, his expression peculiar, while beside him stood a woman—none other than An Ran. 0

Seeing An Ran filled me with conflicting emotions. She was the one who had harmed Guo'er, and I should have rushed to confront her immediately. Yet she was also a friend who had lived with us for several years. Why did the Moon Demon Heir have to choose to possess An Ran? 0

"Is this your backup?" I asked An Ran, pointing at the man in black. Since An Ran had been affected by Kong Xuan's Aging skill and still stood there so confidently, it was clear that this man possessed incredible strength. 0

"My name is Lin Tao, Master Lin of Red Plum Villa," the handsome man said with a smile. 0

"Hello, Lin Tao. I'm Zhong Zhengnan, and this is Kong Xuan and Aijia Yu." Since he was being polite, I couldn't let myself fall short. 0

I didn't know him at all, so there was no need for formalities like "I've heard so much about you." I turned to An Ran and said, "So, you're the Moon Demon Heir? We've been chasing you for so long across great distances; it's exhausting. Don't run away anymore; let's settle this!" 0

After all, Kong Xuan was already out of commission, and with An Ran affected by his Aging skill, she wouldn't recover for at least ten months. She shouldn't be my opponent right now. Life is about taking advantage of the weak; since An Ran wasn't my match at the moment, if I didn't take this opportunity to push her around, would that be reasonable? Do I look like someone lacking emotional intelligence? 0

An Ran remained silent, but Lin Tao spoke amiably, "Zheng Nan, you've traveled such a long way; would you like to have some tea first?" 0

I rolled my eyes. "So you want to take on her burden? Don't think I'm afraid of you just because you're strong." 0

I had to sound tough; my voice carried over a hundred meters to the door, which alone made people wary. Wait—how could he see what was happening at the door? 0

"Strong?" Lin Tao paused slightly as if realizing something. He smiled faintly and pressed a few buttons on the round table in front of him. An LCD screen rose from the table along with a microphone... 0

So that's how it is; the camera could see what was happening at the door, and the microphone needed no explanation. 0

I looked at Lin Tao with a deadpan expression. After all that effort, this was all he could do? Just as I was about to move forward to take action, my mind suddenly went blank; it felt as if I had forgotten what I was about to do next. 0

“Zheng Nan, come sit down!” Lin Tao's gentle voice rang in my ears amidst the confusion. 0

Oh right, I seem to be a bit tired; I should sit down and rest for a while. A voice in my mind kept urging me to sit down, that it would be comfortable. 0

Just as I took a step forward, a strange current surged within me, seemingly starting from nowhere, coursing through my body's meridians. Once it gathered into a force, it rushed straight to my brain. Suddenly, I felt a jolt in my mind and stopped to look down; I was only two meters away from the nearest round stool. Huh, what am I doing? 0

“Come sit down, come sit down…” This time, Lin Tao's voice resonated deep within my mind, sounding exceptionally warm and friendly, instantly suppressing that current of energy. In that moment, I felt like a student who had been punished to stand for two classes, with an overwhelming urge to sit down. 0

Confused again, I took two more steps forward, watching the round stool get closer and feeling an immense sense of comfort. 0

“Zheng Nan!” A voice called out from behind; it was Kong Xuan. The sound seemed tangible, directly stirring the hair at the back of my head, and at that moment, the strange current in my mind intensified. 0

I can't go over there! I can't go over there! 0

Stop! Stop! 0

The voices in my mind grew louder until finally, I halted just a foot away from the round stool. 0

I shook my head vigorously and turned around to see Kong Xuan and Aijia Yu looking at me with anxious expressions. In between us was an iron barrier that had appeared out of nowhere, thick iron bars separating me from Kong Ai. 0

“What is this?” I turned around and asked. No need for that; this is all part of Lin Tao and An Ran's plan. 0

Lin Tao looked at me and softly exclaimed, “I didn't expect you could withstand Thunder Demon Sound? I really don't believe it!” 0

“Thunder Demon Sound? What is that? What do you want?” I sensed something was wrong and threw a straight punch toward Lin Tao's handsome face. 0

“Sit down!” Lin Tao shouted as he remained seated. I suddenly felt dizzy; chaos erupted in my mind as the current that had been helping me vanished in an instant. I lost control of my body and plopped down onto the round stool. 0

"That's more like it!" Lin Tao chuckled, his tone softening, and the flow of energy around me returned, allowing me to break free from Lin Tao's control. 0

"What is going on?" I stood up and pointed at Lin Tao, stammering. 0

"You should talk to him," Lin Tao casually said to An Ran. 0

An Ran reached back and grabbed her hair, then raised her fist: "You should know what this is, right?" 0

"What is it? Is it Sun Wukong's three life-saving hairs?" I cursed inwardly; we are enemies, who the hell would be interested in playing guessing games with you? 0

An Ran opened her palm, and a mosquito flew out from her hand. It buzzed around the room before landing on Kong Xuan. 0

This was the Phantom Mosquito. 0

Kong Xuan looked puzzled as he put the Phantom Mosquito back in its box and asked, "Do you know that we released this Phantom Mosquito?" 0

Aijia Yu also chimed in with surprise: "You deliberately lured us here?" 0

"Exactly!" An Ran laughed. "Otherwise, would I foolishly ask you to use a Spell on me? Fortunately, the Southern School of Confucius focuses on supportive spells. Even though I was hit by your Aging spell, it won't kill me. Hehe, only by doing this could I let you chase after me without restraint!" 0

Damn, we fell for it! 0

It turned out that An Ran had led us here all along. This realization left the three of us feeling dejected; being manipulated feels terrible. 0

After a moment, I said, "So, about the Moon Demon—why did you lure us here? Why do you want to hurt Guo'er?" 0

An Ran grinned: "Would you have chased me all the way here if I hadn't harmed Guo'er?" 0

I was taken aback for a moment, then confidently replied, "Even if you don't hurt Guo'er, I will still chase after you! Because An Ran is also my friend." 0

An Ran smiled, "I'm flattered!" 0

I rolled my eyes, "Then why did you bring me here? And what do you mean by wanting to make love? You're such a liar, it's all just deception!" 0

"If I didn't bring you here, how would we get to Boss Lin?" An Ran paused for a moment, as if realizing she had said something wrong, and looked towards Lin Tao. 0

Lin Tao waved his hand nonchalantly, "It's fine for him to hear this. Here's the thing: before we rescue the Moon Demon, I cannot leave this estate within a hundred miles." 0

Rescue the Moon Demon? I couldn't help but gasp, and at the same time, I heard two hissing sounds behind me; it was Kong Xuan and Aijia Yu inhaling sharply. 0

"What does rescuing the Moon Demon have to do with me? I'm not stopping you! And what's this Thunder Demon Sound about? Why do I feel like I'm being controlled by you?" I shouted loudly. 0

"It has everything to do with you! The Moon Demon and the Land of Slumber have already been sealed. To enter the Land of Slumber, we must open the Gate of Slumber, and the key to opening the Gate of Slumber—well, just take a look and you'll understand!" Lin Tao took out a box from his possession, a flat box that I was very familiar with. 0

"The Book of Life and Death?!" I couldn't help but exclaim. 0
