I exchanged a glance with Fatty, both of us feeling a bit awkward. We thought we were hiding well, but Zhao Ting had noticed us long ago. 0

"I didn't expect you to be so capable, a true heroine!" I stepped out from the shadows and tipped my hat to her. 0

"I'm no match for you!" Zhao Ting smiled brightly. "Seeing you in action at the Foreign Trade Hotel during your fight with Underworld King Chuan left me quite impressed." 0

"Alright, you two stop flattering each other. What's going on?" Fatty interjected sourly from the side. 0

"Okay, let's find a place to talk," Zhao Ting readily agreed. "How about we head back to your hotel room?" 0

By the time the three of us returned to Room 609 at the hotel, it was already ten o'clock at night. The front desk clerk, Zhou Li, looked surprised to see Zhao Ting with us but didn’t say anything. 0

Once inside the room, the first thing we did was turn on the air conditioning. After exchanging some small talk—"Are you married? Is your boyfriend a civil servant? Do you get any heat allowances for being undercover?"—I got straight to the point: "Are you sent by the Provincial Public Security Department?" 0

"Yes!" Zhao Ting smiled again. "I've only been in Sun City for half a month. Tian Zhiyong is my senior; he came here a year before me." 0

"What’s your main mission? They wouldn’t send you here for no reason, would they?" I asked casually, joking that I was introduced by Director Zhao from your Provincial Department. 0

"Since you're someone introduced by Director Zhao, I won’t hide it from you," Zhao Ting said with a light cough. "The situation here in Sun City is very complicated; behind every force there are influential figures lurking in the shadows. To put it bluntly, county heads and mayors are nothing here; the forces involved are either from prominent families or provincial-level officials. To eradicate the gang forces here, it would require intervention from someone at the Standing Committee level, and my Standing Committee member is not from the provincial level, if you know what I mean." 0

I nodded in understanding. 0

"For someone at the Standing Committee level to intervene, you need to present strong evidence. The Provincial Department sent Tian Zhiyong here to gather evidence against these gangs. Over the past year or so, what Tian Zhiyong has collected mostly involves gang conflicts and violent clashes; this kind of information is common nationwide and doesn’t catch anyone's attention. Until half a month ago, when things suddenly escalated here in Sun City—the Nanshan Gang and Eastern Sea Gang clashed fiercely over mining rights, resulting in extremely brutal fighting. Fewer than ten of over a hundred gang members survived." 0

I recalled the bloody conflict between the Iron Blood Gang and Red Wolf Hall and remarked, "We arrived just in time for the Iron Blood Gang's battle with Red Wolf Hall; two major incidents happened within half a month. It really is chaotic." 0

"No, this is the fourth incident. During this time, there were also the Mountain Gang and the Kunlun Gang, the Blood Hand Society and the Sun Moon Sect, all of which were deadly battles with extremely severe casualties. Counting this time with the Iron Blood Gang, the gangs in Sun City have already lost three to four hundred members." At this point, Zhao Ting's lips curled into a strange smile: "Honestly, I personally think it's better that these scum die off more, but from above, the casualties of hundreds of people are considered a major event. Fortunately, these casualties are all from gangs, so no one is too worried about the news being blocked." 0

I exchanged a glance with Fatty, both of us wearing faint bitter smiles. If we really counted it up, we were among the 'scum' Zhao Ting mentioned. Clearing my throat, I asked, "So you were sent out?" 0

"Yes, those above are furious about the inaction of the Sun City police and have determined that there are moles within the Sun City police force. That's why they sent someone to assist Tian Zhiyong in rooting out the mole. I got first place in this year's Provincial Police Academy Comprehensive Skills Competition and I'm a fresh face, so here I am." Zhao Ting brushed her hair back with her hand and smiled lightly, revealing pearly white teeth. 0

Such a delicate girl is actually a powerhouse from the Provincial Department? 0

"Uh, I'm quite curious how you knew Mao Shun was an undercover agent?" Fatty asked. "They went to the sauna completely naked; don't tell me you had a listening device planted in the sauna room beforehand." 0

"Don't you think that grandmother green ring on his hand is rather large?" Zhao Ting looked at Fatty with a smile. 0

"Yeah, placing a listening device inside would be quite fitting." I nodded in agreement. "By the way, now that Mao Shun has been captured by you, aren't you afraid of alerting the others? What do you plan to do about Gu Quan and his group from Underworld?" 0

"The rise of gangs here in Underworld is quite suspicious; Gu Quan and his group have never appeared before. It's unbelievable that Mao Shun was actually bought off by this person. You have to know that there are many wealthy old-school gangs in Sun City; why would they choose to buy off Mao Shun from such an obscure gang? Moreover, this gang has remained silent during previous conflicts but suddenly took action after Iron Blood Gang clashed with Red Wolf Hall. It’s puzzling; don’t they fear being attacked by other gangs?" It seemed Zhao Ting had done extensive research on Sun City's gangs and was analyzing the situation quite well. 0

I remained silent; this girl’s language teacher must have died early because she didn’t touch on my question at all. Come on, I was asking what you plan to do about Gu Quan and his group! 0

Zhao Ting continued, "Capturing one Mao Shun doesn’t mean there aren’t any moles left in the Yangcheng Public Security Bureau, so we still need to continue our undercover work. Furthermore, since we can't cooperate with the local police here, we don’t even know where Gu Quan and his group are staying." 0

So that's how it is; Underworld is indeed quite mysterious. I then recounted our recent encounters just to inform Zhao Ting that Underworld is powerful and not as inconspicuous as it seems. If necessary, she might consider changing locations for her undercover work, such as at the Moon Bay sales center. 0

"Tian Zhiyong has actually discovered the reasons behind these gang conflicts," Zhao Ting said after a moment of silence. 0

"Oh?" 0

"They all started fighting after the underground mine was connected," Zhao Ting paused for a moment. "According to Tian Zhiyong's intelligence, the next likely conflict will be between Lion's Hall and the Flying Swallow Gang. This is because their mines were also connected yesterday." 0

I glanced at Fatty, who immediately nodded in understanding. "Ghost Brother, what does 'connected' mean?" 0

"Damn it, stay away from me. Standing next to you is an insult to me. 'Connected' means two mine tunnels have become one; if you don't know this, your ignorance is lowering the IQ of the entire People's Republic of China!" I looked at him with disdain. 0

Zhao Ting chuckled softly. "That's about the meaning." 0

Fatty didn't take it to heart and shamelessly said, "I call this asking questions without shame!" 0

"What do you mean? Are you implying that I'm very 'low'?" I shot a sideways glance at Fatty. 0

We were joking around, not wanting Zhao Ting to continue. The conversation had reached this point; going further would surely lead to trouble. Conscience, I came to Sun City just for the Fire Spirit Pearl; I planned to leave after that. It was none of my business if they fought until blood flowed like rivers. 0

What I feared came true; after laughing, Zhao Ting directly said, "Next, I'll have to ask for your help!" 0

"Weren't we already helping? We are also registered disciples of the Iron Blood Gang!" I pretended not to understand Zhao Ting's meaning. 0

"That's not what I mean. I need you to go undercover in Lion's Hall." Zhao Ting looked into my eyes with intense focus. 0

My gaze wandered aimlessly, avoiding contact with Zhao Ting's eyes. This television is from Skyworth, this computer is from Lenovo, and these curtains are made of goose down. Hmm, there seems to be a black mark on the hem of the curtains; it must be from Fatty cleaning his shoes. 0

"You were introduced by Director Zhao; I believe you won't let me down," Zhao Ting said slowly. 0

"Ahem, we're not very familiar with Director Zhao. For something like this, he should send his trusted subordinates. You're new too, right? Why should we... why should you do such a thankless and dangerous task? Tsk tsk, Director Zhao is being unreasonable." To distance ourselves from the situation, Fatty shamelessly tried to sow discord. 0

"Hu!" Zhao Ting exclaimed angrily. 0

"Hey, do I look like a fool? You and Tian Zhiyong definitely don't have any backing!" Fatty scoffed. 0

"Do you know who Director Zhao is? He is my father!" Zhao Ting couldn't help but shout. 0

Upon hearing this, both Fatty and I were stunned. After a moment, I could only smile wryly and said, "Alright, just for that, let's go undercover in Lion's Hall!" 0

After discussing some details with Zhao Ting, I called Chen Weilong, claiming that I wanted to join Lion's Hall. Chen Weilong was taken aback for a moment but then laughed and agreed, repeatedly saying that Lion's Hall welcomed us and promised we would feel at home. I knew he had doubts in his mind, but with the imminent battle against the Flying Swallow Gang, he didn’t even ask for a reason. 0

That night, we reported to the headquarters of Lion's Hall, a bar on Construction Road in the eastern part of the city called Tulip Lounge. Before we even entered, Chen Weilong called to ask where we were and instructed us to go to the underground parking lot. Confused, we made our way there and saw a black car with its headlights on. When it spotted us, the car honked twice. Chen Weilong leaned out of the window and smiled, "Just in time! You two are new faces; come with me to handle something!" 0

Damn it, does it have to be so urgent? Can't we at least have a cup of tea first? 0

"Brother Long, are you in such a hurry to take us to see a pole dance?" Fatty asked with a grin. 0

"What pole dance?" Chen Weilong was taken aback for a moment before laughing and cursing, "If you want to see that kind of thing, I can ask around later where the best one is..." 0

I had a vague feeling that something was off but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. After thinking for a while, I decided to let it go. 0

Once Chen Weilong got us both in the car, he quickly drove us to an abandoned brick factory outside the city. Inside the factory was an area about the size of a basketball court where an SUV was already parked with its doors wide open. A man and a woman stood outside the vehicle. 0

The woman had short hair and wore a tank top while smoking a cigarette; she looked every bit the part of a tough girl. However, she wasn't bad-looking; her well-developed biceps made her red pendant stand out even more—it was shaped like a Red Chili. The man was dressed in black and looked vigilant as he watched our car; from his stance, it seemed he was either the woman's bodyguard or subordinate. 0

Chen Weilong parked the car and gestured for us to get out. The three of us walked up to the SUV. The woman exhaled a puff of smoke and said, "Weilong, why did you rush me over here? Don't you know that our Flying Swallow Gang is about to go to war with your Lion's Hall? Isn't it inappropriate for us to meet?" 0

"Kiki, don't you miss me too much? Come on, let's get a little cozy!" Chen Weilong said with a grin as he wrapped his arms around Kiki's waist and headed towards the bushes by the roadside. Fatty and I were stunned. Are you serious? You called us over just to keep watch for your little escapade? 0

Soon, the sound of clothes rustling came from the bushes. Fatty and I exchanged dumbfounded glances at the bodyguard that had accompanied us. The man seemed unfazed, pulling out a pack of cigarettes and handing two to us. He smiled and said, "New here? What's your name? I'm Ake. Heh, it's all good; they might finish before we even finish our smokes, then it's back to our own lives." 0

A cigarette's worth of Kung Fu? It seems Kiki's happiness index has plenty of room for improvement. 0

Fatty whispered, "Does that include the time for taking off clothes?" 0

Ake nodded seriously, "I usually start counting from when they get out of the car." 0

"…" 0

Poor Brother Long. Before I could express my sympathy, Brother Long emerged from the bushes holding his pants with a satisfied look on his face. "Let's go home!" 0

No way, Brother Long, I've only had two puffs of this cigarette. 0

Brother Long gave Ake a friendly pat on the shoulder and said, "Young man, not bad! I have high hopes for you!" 0

Just as Ake was about to respond, Chen Weilong suddenly flipped his hand, and a cold glint flashed towards Ake's neck. In an instant, blood splattered everywhere. Ake clutched his neck tightly, glaring at Chen Weilong with wide eyes. A gurgling sound came from his throat, and moments later, he collapsed to the ground, lifeless. 0
