“She really yearns for the life of the Dragon Group!” Lou Wei laughed, then hooked his arm around my neck and whispered, “From a national perspective, I’m glad she can join the Dragon Group. But from our personal friendship, isn’t this girl from the same family as your girlfriend? Is she a bit foolish? The life in the Dragon Group is like that of a mouse, and she actually longs for it. By the way, do you want me to stay and help?” 0

I looked at Yang Zi, who nodded and smiled at me, her expression indeed full of pride and vigor. She turned back to Lou Wei and said, “Forget it, no need. You might not even be my match right now.” 0

After joking with Lou Wei for a while, I pulled out the head of the Doll and casually handed over a few bones: “This is all we have!” 0

Fatty saw me handing the thickest leg bone to Lou Wei and twitched his face, as if the bone I handed over was pulled from his own thigh. 0

“A complete skeleton can’t just be this little, right?” Lou Wei said with a strange laugh. “Hurry up, take everything out. I still need to rush back!” 0

I angrily pulled out two more bones: “This is all there is; we didn’t pick up any more!” 0

Lou Wei laughed heartily, passing the skeleton to Yang Zi and the others. He then said seriously to me, “Zheng Nan, don’t touch those three hundred Dolls underground for now. Wait until I have research results here; then I’ll send a large team over to take control. Do you know about special forces? Do you know about Rambo? The one carrying Thunder and loaded with AA Battery-sized bullets—you understand.” 0

I nodded; there was no way I would go there even if it meant death. 0

Lou Wei gave a few more instructions, stepped into the van, and turned back to say, “Take care of yourself!” 0

I felt warm inside but waved my hand dismissively as if shooing away flies. Lou Wei laughed as he called everyone to get in the car. Just before getting in, Yang Zi walked up to me and softly said, “By the way, Fatty and A-Jian are also in the Dragon Group now; we’re together.” With that, her face flushed red as she quickly got into the car and closed the door. 0

The car sped away from sight while I was still trying to process her words. When did Yang Zi get together with A-Jian? I mentioned this to Fatty, who was equally stunned: “A-Jian is so fat; how can he pose or move?” 0

After Lou Wei left, another seven or eight minutes passed. During this time, Xiao Yuan occasionally woke up but seemed completely unaware of anything. He stared blankly at the Flower Board; if you asked him something, he would just look at you with a dazed expression. If you spoke louder, he would start twitching his face; if you pressed him further, he would simply faint. There was nothing I could do about him—could I even give him a little nudge? 0

Just out of the hospital, I received a call from Zhao Ting: "Zheng Nan, I've found the whereabouts of Li Yunfan and the others. Where are you? Come back to the hotel first." 0

The two of us rushed back to the hotel, and Zhao Ting followed us to the room. Before I could even sit down, I hurriedly asked, "Have you seen Li Yunfan?" 0

Zhao Ting smiled: "Not yet, I just found their location." 0

"Where?" I didn't bother asking how she found out; it was like someone giving you a candy, would you really ask how that candy was made? 0

"Hedong Liberation Road, Mao Family Alley." 0

"What Mao what alley?" Fatty asked in surprise. 0

"Alley is a dialect term here in Sun City, meaning a very narrow lane. Most of the residents inside have the surname Mao, so it's called Mao Family Alley. This alley belongs to the Old Town District, and the houses inside are all old buildings renovated after the liberation," Zhao Ting explained lightly. "Mao Family Alley is a dead end; at the very back of the alley, there's a big house, and the owner of that house is Li Yunfan. By the way, Mao Family Alley is right next to Moon Bay District." 0

"Moon Bay District?" Fatty, Noodles, and I exchanged glances. We knew that the place where we were first imprisoned by Gu Quan was closely related to Moon Bay District. The secret room might not be inside Moon Bay District itself but was definitely nearby. If Li Yunfan's house is also in this vicinity, there must be a connection; perhaps the secret room where I was held is inside Li Yunfan's house. 0

"Are there still people living inside?" If there were people living there, it was possible that Li Yunfan and the others were still alive, which would mean all questions could be answered. My question was essentially to find out if Li Yunfan and his group were still alive. 0

"Yes! The neighbors often see people coming and going," Zhao Ting replied confidently. 0

"Could it be Li Yunfan and his group?" 0

"I'm not sure about that. However, several old residents nearby mentioned seeing three unkempt individuals wearing glasses a long time ago. After that, those three didn't appear again; only some young people have been coming and going." 0

A disheveled person wearing glasses? I exchanged a glance with Fatty, and we both read the same meaning in each other's eyes: these three must be Li Yunfan and his companions, while the young people coming in and out behind them were likely Gu Quan and his group. 0

"Let's go take a look!" Fatty and I stood up, but Zhao Ting quickly stopped us: "Not now, let's wait until I finish work!" 0

Fatty looked at Zhao Ting with suspicion: "Wait until you finish work? Are you afraid of losing your performance bonus?" 0

Zhao Ting smiled and said, "I finish work at midnight. By that time, there will hardly be anyone in that alley. If it really is Gu Quan and his group, we'll have to rely on gunfire to capture them, and I'm worried about harming innocent people." 0

Alright, you hold the moral high ground; we'll listen to you. 0

At midnight, the three of us exited the Foreign Trade Hotel. After walking for about ten minutes, we turned into an alley. On both sides of the alley were old buildings; I could reach out my hands and touch the houses on either side, which showed just how narrow it was. Every twenty meters or so, a streetlight hung between the eaves of the two sides, providing light that was not too dim but also not very bright. 0

After walking over three hundred meters, we reached the end of the alley. In front of us was a dilapidated wall over a person's height; behind it was likely a stinking ditch, as we could smell it even from where we stood. 0

On each side were old brick houses. I nodded towards Zhao Ting, indicating which side belonged to Li Yunfan. Zhao Ting walked straight to the door on the right side and peered through the crack in the wooden door, seemingly checking for any movement inside. It seemed this was the place. I took out my shotgun and handed Fatty one as well, then gestured for Zhao Ting to step aside; we were going to break in. 0

Zhao Ting looked at us in surprise and whispered, "What are you guys planning to do?" 0

Come on, our stance is so professional; this is how it's done in police films—one person covers while another kicks down the door... You’re a police officer and you can’t see that? I cleared my throat: "Kick down the door and rush in!" 0

"You’re wrong; it's the door across!" Zhao Ting turned around and pointed to the opposite side. 0

"Damn it, then what are you crouching here for?" Fatty muttered. 0

"I just want to see if this family is asleep," Zhao Ting said with a smile, following us across the street. 0

Fatty and I were eager to jump in, but Zhao Ting stopped us. 0

"What do you want to do?" Fatty couldn't help but ask angrily. 0

"I was going to ask you what you wanted to do!" Zhao Ting rolled her eyes at us and pulled out a key. "I have a master key." 0

Seeing Zhao Ting take out the key reminded me of Lingfeng. Last time we sneaked into Jiang Haoyu's house, wasn't it with a similar master key? Before I could express my feelings, Zhao Ting had already opened the door. Impressive, she was truly skilled. 0

After putting away the key and drawing her gun, Zhao Ting turned back and nodded at us. Fatty and I, holding our shotguns, rushed in first. The three of us moved in tandem, and soon every light in the seven rooms of the two-story house was turned on. There was no one inside any of them. 0

"Look for traps, look for secret passages!" I had a feeling that the room where we were imprisoned must be in this house. 0

We rummaged through everything, and fortunately, there weren't many furnishings inside. After some effort, we found a mechanism: in the kitchen on the first floor, there was an Azure Brick that was loose. When we moved it aside, it revealed an Iron Plate. Lifting the Iron Plate exposed a Pull Ring. I tugged on the Pull Ring, and a series of clanking sounds echoed as the stove shifted to reveal a passage. 0

The three of us exchanged glances and instinctively raised our guns to aim at the passage. I took out a flashlight, turned it on, and placed it on my gun to shine down. I discovered that it wasn't very deep—about ten meters or so—with large Azure Bricks forming a simple set of stairs. 0

I handed another flashlight to Fatty, and we entered one after another. 0

At the end of the passage was an iron door. I gently pushed it; it wasn't locked. As I pushed it open, it creaked unpleasantly. 0

Shining the flashlight around, I saw that inside was a square room measuring five meters by five meters. The room was simple: a bed, a table, a chair, and a cabinet. At both ends of the bed were two triangular support rods resembling an inverted 'umbrella' shape; I knew this was used for hanging mosquito nets. 0

At the entrance, they found the light switch. The three of them had to search the room carefully again. In the desk drawer, they discovered about ten gold bars, and besides that, there was nothing else, as if this place was merely a sleeping chamber. 0

Fatty plopped down on the bed, having already tossed the bedding into disarray. Frustrated, he said, "Damn, is this person sick? They made a bedroom in the kitchen. But it is quite cool down here, ha ha." 0

"This doesn't make sense! There should be some secrets hidden here, right? Just hiding ten gold bars seems a bit off," Zhao Ting chimed in, equally frustrated. 0

Could it be that we came here for nothing? I felt a surge of anger and flipped over the cabinet and desk, pulling out a pickaxe from my Spatial Bag and started smashing everything wildly. Before long, I had completely wrecked the wardrobe and desk. It was during this chaotic destruction that I unexpectedly discovered a hidden compartment beneath the desk. Without hesitation, I pried it open to find three skeletons inside; these were not Golden Skeletons but actual human bones. 0

Three skeletons? Could it be? 0

Naturally, our gazes shifted to the left hands of the skeletons. Sure enough, none of them had fingers on their left hands; these skeletons belonged to Li Yunfan and two other scientists. I never expected that three scientists from the same era as Shen Lao would meet their demise here. A wave of inexplicable emotion surged within me. 0

"Let's go; it seems there's really nothing here." My mood suddenly grew heavy as I put away the pickaxe, forcing a bitter smile as I signaled for the others to retreat. 0

As Fatty got up, he lost his balance and fell back onto the bed with a loud thud. This caused the support rods on either side of the bed to sway slightly, producing a faint clattering sound before stopping. 0

Hmm? What’s going on? 0
