Zhong Kui's Diary
I stood in front of the car door, not getting in, my mind racing. After a moment, I hesitantly asked, "You saw me pick up that Yin-Yang Ancient Coin and then realized I have a Yin-Yang Physique, so you set all this up against me?"
A look of surprise flashed across the Scarred Boss's face as he exclaimed, "Zheng Nan, you're really too clever! You connected the dots just like that!"
It's not that I'm clever; it's just that the Six God Monk has endured too much humiliation. After everything he has gone through, what else is there in this world that he cannot accomplish? But to get my help, he swallowed the grudge against Shattering Stone. The only explanation is that this is something only I can do, and my only unique trait is my Yin-Yang Physique.
Knowing this, the next steps became easier to deduce. Earlier at Sister Wang's Pig Stomach Chicken restaurant, after Shattering Stone's Yin-Yang Ancient Coin fell, I casually picked it up. This all happened right under the Scarred Boss's nose. Then they arranged a series of accidents to send us to Thunder Sound Temple, where the Six God Monk would finally take action to capture us.
Thinking of this, I coldly asked, "If that's the case, then the mudslide on the Road must have been caused by you?"
The Scarred Boss shook his head with a smile and pulled out a remote control from inside the car, pointing toward a bend behind the van: "We originally planned to strike there and create a landslide to trap you before capturing you. We didn't expect you to encounter a mudslide above and coincidentally find your way to Thunder Sound Temple. What a coincidence."
I scoffed, "Although it had been raining for days and mudslides aren't surprising, it's quite a coincidence that this one happened just as our car passed by. You can't deny that; it's too coincidental."
Hearing this, the Scarred Boss smiled but said nothing and pressed the remote control.
With a loud bang, a cliff in the distance collapsed with a crash, completely blocking the Road.
The sudden explosion and resulting landslide startled me. I glanced sideways at the Scarred Boss and asked, "What do you mean by this?"
The Scarred Boss casually tossed the remote control back into the car and said with a grin, "I'm just proving that we had set up an ambush here; there's no need to lie about it."
"Fine, even if the mudslide was an unexpected coincidence, poisoning us inside Thunder Sound Temple was still your idea?" I snorted coldly. "And did you give me some kind of aphrodisiac?"
"I wouldn't know about that; it's all up to the Six Deities inside!" The Scarred Boss shrugged. "I’ve been waiting here since this morning and never left the car. Even if I had phone contact with the Six Deities, there's no way he could call me every few minutes to report his progress."
Just as I was about to continue speaking, a clanging sound came from behind on the mountain path, faintly carrying Kong Xuan's shouts: "Beast! You can't escape!"
"Shall we get in?" The Scarred Boss looked at me with a smile.
I gritted my teeth and finally opened the car door, slipping into the van.
Scarred Boss started the vehicle, and as soon as he pressed the accelerator, the van shot out like an arrow.
...
For the next few hours, I was completely exhausted. I had witnessed Kong Xuan's tracking abilities; that thing called Phantom Mosquito would leave a trace of my movements on Kong Xuan's Tablet with just one bite.
Knowing that Kong Xuan had this device, Scarred Boss cursed loudly and took me through various modes of transportation. At first, I didn't think much of it, but later I realized how abnormal it was. The power behind Scarred Boss was terrifying; almost anywhere we went, a phone call from him would summon transportation—bicycles, motorcycles, vans, luxury sports cars, even dump trucks and buses.
What kind of force was this?
Meanwhile, Kong Xuan, who was chasing us, relentlessly pursued us. It seemed that with the help of the Ling Family, Kong Xuan had such a large operation. Damn, how did Lingfeng help Kong Xuan chase me down? Did Aijia Yu say something to them? At that time, I clearly... hadn't even gone in!
Well, it didn't matter whether I went in or not; the main issue was that I indeed had those beastly thoughts and actions at that time. Because of this, when Qingcheng asked me for an explanation, I found myself at a loss for words.
As we fled, I gradually realized we had entered western China.
The SUV wound through the mountains; I had lost count of how many times I had fled or how many vehicles we had switched to. My memories during this time were filled with constantly changing cars and being discovered by Kong Xuan, only to switch again and be found once more.
I finally understood the meaning of the word "panic"; I was living out its definition.
"Should we have shaken them off this time?" Scarred Boss cleared his throat and pulled out a bottle of mineral water, taking a big gulp.
"Not necessarily; with something as powerful as Phantom Mosquito, it's not that easy to lose contact." I forced a smile, feeling an uneasy sensation in my heart.
"In the past, when we changed cars, it would take at most one or two hours for Kong Xuan to find us. This time it's been almost six hours without them catching up. Could it be that Phantom Mosquito ran out of battery?" Scarred Boss chuckled.
"That mosquito is bloodsucking; it doesn't need to recharge." I frowned and explained, feeling that unease grow stronger.
"It doesn't matter; we're almost there. Once we reach Dominion Villa, we won't have to worry about anything. Even if ten or eight more Kong Xuan come after us, we won't be afraid." Scarred Boss said with a smile.
Dominion Villa? What kind of place is Dominion Villa?
Just as I was about to ask him, a loud rumbling sound suddenly echoed above me. The unease in my heart surged, and I couldn't help but change color: "It's an airplane, they're chasing us with an airplane!"
The Scarred Boss also changed his expression, pressed a switch, and the window on top of the off-road vehicle opened. Looking up, I saw a helicopter diving towards us from the sky.
"Damn it, it's a military aircraft!"
Before the Scarred Boss could finish his sentence, a series of rapid gunfire from a Gatling Gun whizzed overhead, directly blasting the road in front of us into a shower of gravel.
Damn, Kong Xuan deliberately waited for our vehicle to enter the remote mountainous area before attacking us; only in such places would innocent people not be harmed.
The Scarred Boss gritted his teeth as he controlled the steering wheel, maneuvering the vehicle left and right along the mountain road to dodge the helicopter's Gatling Gun fire.
Whoosh! A rocket launcher whizzed past and exploded with a loud bang less than three meters from the off-road vehicle. I looked up to see Kong Xuan shouldering a rocket launcher, grinning menacingly at me.
Damn it, both the Gatling Gun and Rocket Launcher are out; do you think this is a police action movie? Even in a police movie, it wouldn't be this exaggerated.
"We have to get out of the car!" the Scarred Boss shouted at me.
"You have to stop first," I replied sharply due to my anxiety.
"Stopping means becoming a live target!" the Scarred Boss said sternly. "I'm going to turn right now; when we do, we jump!"
Looking ahead, we were currently on the most perilous stretch of road. The right side had trees, which was fine, but the left side was a steep cliff. The Scarred Boss's decision to turn right was based on this consideration.
Damn it, let's just jump.
The car suddenly swerved to the right, and the Scarred Boss shouted, "Jump!"
I quickly pushed open the car door and leaped outside.
I initially planned to land on my shoulder and then roll sideways to dissipate the momentum. However, I never expected that there would be a rock where my shoulder landed. It wasn't large—only about the size of a fist—but it was very round. A sharp pain shot through my shoulder as I slipped; my intended roll turned into a tumble as I rolled seven or eight times before finally standing up in a daze. Wiping my face and body, I found myself covered in blood.
The off-road vehicle, uncontrolled, crashed off the mountain path and fell down the nearby cliff. Moments later, a loud explosion echoed from below.
"Follow me!" Scarred Boss stumbled over from the middle of the road and darted into the dense forest. I didn't have time to think much and hurriedly followed closely behind Scarred Boss, stumbling into the woods.
The Helicopter did not give up on attacking us, hovering above us. As soon as we showed any sign of movement, it unleashed a barrage of gunfire.
After running for about twenty minutes, we reached the edge of the forest where an open area appeared. This clearing was a firebreak created to prevent the spread of forest fires. It wasn't wide, about fifty meters, but that distance felt like a chasm between life and death for us.
It wasn't that the firebreak was particularly difficult to cross; on the contrary, the ground was exceptionally flat. The danger lay in the fact that the Helicopter was hovering directly above this firebreak. Without the cover of trees, if we rushed across, we would become live targets for its Gatling Gun, and Kong Xuan would surely take out his Rocket Launcher to blast us.
"As long as we get into the forest on the other side, we'll be almost within the range of Dominion Villa. Once there, we'll be safe; even the Helicopter won't dare to fly above!" Scarred Boss panted while pointing towards the forest across the firebreak.
What a joke! What place is off-limits for a Helicopter? I shot Scarred Boss a confused look.
Seeing my expression, Scarred Boss forced a smile: "There's no time to explain. Just remember, once we reach the trees on the other side, we'll be safe."
With the plane flying so low, if we just ran across like this, they wouldn't even need to aim; they could close their eyes and shoot behind us and turn us into a beehive.
Damn it, how can we get across?
