Zhong Kui's Diary
We no longer cared about the gold beneath our feet, all of us hurried towards the entrance of the Cellar, only to hear a loud clang. The entrance to the Cellar was covered by an Iron Plate, leaving only a gap slightly larger than a Basin. The Rope we used to climb was dangling from this gap, swaying back and forth. Then, we heard a series of banging sounds from above, as if Yang Guo was pressing down on the Iron Plate with Bluestone.
"Yang Guo! What are you doing?" I shouted angrily.
"What am I doing?" Yang Guo seemed to find the question hilarious, laughing heartily for a while before catching his breath and saying, "Can't you see? I'm going to lock you all inside."
"What do you mean?" I yelled.
"What do I mean? This whole thing has been my plan, and now it's time to reap the rewards," Yang Guo replied with a smirk.
"Was all of this your doing?" Although I had suspected this when I first heard Yang Guo's voice, hearing him admit it still left me in shock.
"That's right! I discovered a huge treasure in General Township over ten years ago," Yang Guo said with a smile. "That's why I chose to retreat at the peak of my success and devoted myself to finding this treasure. Once I find it, I can live quietly as a wealthy man."
At this point, Yang Guo let out a long sigh. "But over these past ten years, I've searched every corner of General Township without finding any clues about the treasure. Just when I was about to give up in despair, I accidentally learned that the treasure is actually with the Wei Family. Sigh... what a twist of fate; how many decades can one have in life?"
"Hey, where's the landlady?" Fatty asked curiously. "Why is it just you talking about yourself and not mentioning your aunt Dragon Girl?"
"Don't mention that wretched woman in front of me!" Yang Guo suddenly became furious.
"What happened?" I asked in surprise, and Wen Zhan and the others looked equally confused.
"That wretched woman has been living off me since we came to General Township, eating and drinking excessively while her temper has gotten worse and worse. Her figure has also become increasingly plump. She used to have a figure like a Coca-Cola bottle; now she's more like a Coca-Cola can. Especially her face—it has turned into a steamed bun face, and it smells like garlic when she opens her mouth," Yang Guo shouted angrily.
Recalling the appearance of the hotel landlady, aside from her bad breath, she did indeed look as Yang Guo described, especially that steamed bun face—it was quite fitting.
"That's nothing," Fatty chimed in to comfort him. "Just turn off the lights when you're doing that at night. Women are all the same in the dark; being a bit plump isn't bad either—soft and more pleasant to touch. As for bad breath, just cover her face with a pillow."
"You don't know anything! When I'm with her, not only do we need bright lights, but she also demands French kissing—French kissing! Do you know what that means? It's when tongues are swirling around. Have you ever found yourself suddenly tasting a leaf while kissing? And it’s garlic-flavored!"
At this point, Yang Guo took a deep breath as if trying to suppress his anger. After a while, he slowly said, "That's not even the worst part; if I do something she doesn't like, she starts hitting me. I've had enough! After learning that you all found gold, I smashed her steamed bun face into pieces with Four Great Limbs and then left her body in the wilderness. Heh heh, by now it’s probably just bones left after being eaten by wild beasts."
We all gasped in shock. Damn, how cold-blooded must one be to do something like this? In Fatty's words, after being a couple for a day, there’s a hundred days of affection. You two have lived together for so many years; haven’t you shared intimacy hundreds or thousands of times? How could that not have fostered any feelings?
“What? You all seem quite dissatisfied?” Yang Guo snorted coldly.
“This is your family matter, so I won’t comment,” I coughed lightly and forced a laugh. “But what does Four Great Limbs mean? I'm a bit confused.” Meanwhile, I was cursing inside, damn it, Four Great Limbs? Why not call it the Four Great Courtesans?
“The right hand you just saw is one of the Four Great Limbs. As for the other three, they have already been burned to ashes. We’ll settle this account later,” Yang Guo said with a smirk.
“Isn’t all this right hand and left foot stuff made by Cloud Dream Fairy and Zhang Qixia?” I asked in surprise.
“Zhang Qixia? Please, she only knows some basic processing. To me, Hell's Claw is just a joke. A second-rate university like Star City University, so what if they graduate with a bachelor's degree? I am a Doctor of Automation Control from Tsinghua University,” Yang Guo said proudly. “I’m not bragging; only I can create such perfect Four Great Limbs, and only I can control them.”
After a pause, Yang Guo continued, “However, after seeing her design of Hell's Claw, it sparked some inspiration in me. I casually grabbed four Hell's Claw, cleared their systems, and then installed super chips in them. Do you know what super chips mean? Let me put it this way: her Hell's Claw needs someone to control it, while my improved Four Great Limbs actually possesses a certain level of self-awareness. Even I didn’t expect that; it’s likely that I won’t be able to create something this impressive again in the future. You’ve interacted with my Four Great Limbs, and also with Zhang Qixia’s Hell's Claw. Who is superior and who is inferior? I believe you are clear about that.”
“Four Great Limbs is indeed much more powerful,” I admitted honestly.
“I digressed a bit. Ever since I learned about the treasure being in the Wei Family over two months ago, I have entered the Wei Family multiple times to investigate. Although I am a Doctor of Automation Control, I don’t really understand mechanisms and secret passages. Despite searching several times, I couldn’t find the treasure entrance,” Yang Guo said with frustration in his voice. “I’ve searched this Cellar several times too; how come I didn’t discover any mechanisms? It’s really strange.”
“You’re a Doctor of Automation Control; how could you not find this?” Fatty asked in disbelief.
Not only was Fatty surprised, but I also looked down on him greatly. Come on, if you knock on the walls of the Cellar, you can hear metallic sounds; how did you miss that while being a Doctor of Automation Control? Pfft!
“Is automation control the same as mechanism studies?” Yang Guo sneered disdainfully. “To put it simply, those who can program computers don’t necessarily know how to assemble them.”
“Uh, that makes sense. So what happened next?” I asked.
“I came up with a plan to hang all the people from the Wei Family, leaving only one, Wei Haibo. Then that fat woman would use hypnosis on him to spread the news about gold being here outside. This way, we could attract some experts in mechanisms over,” he explained. “As it turns out, my plan worked; people like Zhang Qixia were indeed attracted here.”
Yang Guo couldn’t help but laugh heartily for a few moments before continuing, “As for you guys, originally I planned to kill you at the hotel, but then I thought maybe you could balance out those from Zhang Qixia. After you find the gold, you could turn against each other, and then I could reap the benefits without doing anything myself—wouldn’t that be better?”
So that was how it was. I forced a bitter smile. “The right hand in that SUV at the hotel entrance was also controlled by you, right?”
“Of course! With those low-level Hell's Claw from Zhang Qixia, how could they possibly have such power? I merely gave her a little help from behind the scenes; I didn’t want your numbers to exceed those of Zhang Qixia’s group,” Yang Guo scoffed. “That’s why I acted at the hotel to take back Wen Zhan’s subordinates; if your strength far surpassed theirs, then we wouldn’t achieve mutual destruction.”
"When you found out that Zhang Qixia had already located the gold, you didn't hesitate to kill all of the boss lady's people, and then came to eliminate us, right?" I said slowly.
"That's right. I never expected that you guys would be so formidable, managing to take down three of my Four Great Limbs and injuring one. I really can't understand where you got those powerful firearms from," Yang Guo chuckled wickedly. "Under normal circumstances, I might be interested in that question, but right now, I'm more interested in the gold."
"Since you want to kill us, why didn't you just have that right hand take care of us earlier? Why go through all this trouble?" Wen Zhan shouted.
"That's because after seeing the traps set by Zhang Qixia, I changed my mind and decided I wanted you to help me transport the gold," Yang Guo replied with a smile. "Zhang Qixia is a lunatic; who knows what other traps she has set among the gold down there? I don't want to reach out and get immobilized. Rather than risk moving the gold myself, it's better to let you take the risk for me."
"I'm a bit curious; are you brainless?" I suddenly sneered.
"Oh, Boss Zhong, what insights do you have?" Yang Guo responded without anger, his voice carrying a sinister tone from the gap.
"You think that just by guarding the Cellar entrance, we will obediently help you move the gold?" I scoffed. "May I ask what gives you the right to threaten us? In terms of fighting, we have at least three experts here on par with you. In terms of firepower, we still have plenty of ammunition. If you're planning to starve us out, let me tell you honestly, we could hold out for a year and a half without any problem."
Fatty also joined in the mockery: "Even if you completely block off Iron Plate, so what? The soil layer between this Cellar and the Training Room is only about a meter thick. We can climb up to the beams and dig a hole with some effort; do you really think you can stop us?"
"Maybe you can blow up all the passages outside the Training Room, but so what? The ceiling of the Training Room is only three or four meters high; do you think we can't dig our way out?" Wen Zhan laughed. "Or maybe you should hurry up and order a big Iron Plate to cover the entire wooden house within a few hundred meters."
