A familiar voice suddenly rang out, and Huo Feng recognized it as Nalan Bo's voice, startling him. How did he end up here? Without time for further thought, he dashed toward the nearby staircase corridor.
At that moment, two figures appeared in the light, realizing there was no one else present. One of them said, "Nalan, we have conducted multiple investigations; there shouldn't be anyone else who knows about this place. We have been secretly lurking in this area, and no one has come here since the treasure site emerged. Are you perhaps too nervous?"
"Maybe. It's all that bastard Huo Feng's fault; he's been affecting my mental state lately. Once we get the treasure, I must eliminate his entire family."
"Don't worry, Brother Nalan. I also want to skin them alive. By the time we cultivate the Combat Techniques we gain here, taking them down will be a piece of cake. Let's hurry back to study that coffin; there might be some good stuff inside." The two returned to the coffin.
These two were Muxiu and Nalan Bo, and this was the treasure site they had previously discussed in secret.
As for Huo Feng, he had not heard anything about them and had no idea that someone he despised had actually entered.
After a while, Huo Feng noticed that no one came down, and his tense nerves finally relaxed a bit. However, he felt a sense of uncertainty; if he went out, he feared being discovered, but continuing down to the lower levels left him unsure of what might happen.
Just as Huo Feng was at a loss, a hand landed on his shoulder. He was startled by this sudden 'attack' and nearly jumped out of his skin. If it had been a direct ambush, it could have cost him his life.
Huo Feng spun around quickly and executed a "Push Palm," but the person sidestepped effortlessly, avoiding Huo Feng's attack. Just as Huo Feng was about to continue his assault, a glimmer of light appeared, allowing him to finally relax.
It turned out that the person who had placed their hand on his shoulder was Ruo Xi, whom he had returned to find.
"Could you not scare me like that?" Huo Feng complained in frustration.
"Who scared you? You came out on your own; didn't you ignore me?" Ruo Xi turned her face away.
"I'm not here because of you; I just wanted to see what was going on out of curiosity," Huo Feng insisted, refusing to admit he had come back for her.
"Hmph! Since you saved me before, I won't hold it against you. I just have a strong feeling about things. Did you see those two idiots outside? They are desperately studying that broken coffin."
"There should be treasures inside that coffin."
"You’re just as foolish as they are. Who would put treasures in a place where anyone can see them upon entering? Plus, there are no traps outside; have you never seen a treasure burial site?" Ruo Xi thought their level of understanding was too low.
"Have you regained your memory? You seem to know so much now. Where did all this come from?" Huo Feng assumed she had recovered her memories based on her demeanor.
Ruo Xi lowered her head and said, "No, I don't know. It feels like these things just naturally appeared in my mind."
"Alright, since you saved me and came back worried about my safety, I'll take you to find this treasure. It might be very helpful for you," Ruo Xi said confidently.
"Do as you wish. Are you so sure your feelings are right? Even if you know where the treasure is, I need to tell you something: those two outside are my enemies, so be careful," Huo Feng reminded her.
"We'll grab what we need and find a chance to escape. You're being foolish; let's hurry inside before they come down and run into us."
Seeing Ruo Xi's determination, Huo Feng chuckled self-deprecatingly and followed her into the interior.
Before long, Huo Feng noticed that the corridor ahead was different. Heavy iron chains hung from above, each as thick as Huo Feng's arm, and there was a stone door in front of them.
Huo Feng stepped forward, but suddenly felt something drop from above. He looked up just in time to see the massive chains swinging down towards him; if he got hit, he would either die or be severely injured.
The chains blocked all of Huo Feng's escape routes, leaving him with no choice but to dodge desperately.
Ruo Xi panicked. She had sensed something was off and wanted to stop and check, but Huo Feng had already entered and triggered the mechanism.
"Huo Feng, hold on! Let me see where the switch is!" Ruo Xi exclaimed as she began searching around.
A minute passed, and beads of sweat formed on Huo Feng's forehead. Anxiously, he said, "Have you found it? I can't hold on much longer."
Ruo Xi was also in a state of distress, furrowing her brows. She had searched every suspicious spot but found no switch. Seeing Huo Feng struggling, she urged herself to think faster.
Suddenly, Ruo Xi's eyes lit up as she walked towards the nearest glowing orb. She reached out to grab it but couldn't pull it free. A thought struck her; she twisted the orb, and it made a clanking sound.
Ruo Xi hurried back to Huo Feng's side just as he noticed that the chains had returned to their original position and the distant stone door had opened. Huo Feng immediately sat down to recover his energy; he had exhausted a lot of his Origin Force and didn't know what lay ahead, so he wasn't in a rush to move forward.
"Someone's coming," Ruo Xi warned. Huo Feng sensed it too; without time to recover fully, he quickly led Ruo Xi through the stone door.
As they stepped inside, they were stunned. The room contained only a large circular pit with nothing else in sight, yet the pit was filled with Azure Blue Flames. How could there be flames in such a frigid place? They couldn't afford to ponder this now as they faced a dead end with pursuers behind them.
Huo Feng was at a loss for what to do next. He wasn't one to dwell on dilemmas; seeing their predicament, he calmly looked at Ruo Xi and said, "Ruo Xi, it seems we're trapped this time. I have enemies here who will likely focus on me. When I attack suddenly, take the chance to escape. You seem to have some special hidden abilities; your chances are better."
Ruo Xi looked at Huo Feng and felt an inexplicable sense of strength and reliability from him. Inspired by his resolve, she replied, "I'm not afraid; I want to face this with you."
"Do you understand the situation?" Huo Feng looked at her angrily.
"I know, anyway, I don't remember anything right now. When I woke up, I saw you alone. You are my family, and I want to stay," Ruo Xi said, looking firmly at Huo Feng.
Seeing Ruo Xi so resolute, Huo Feng didn't say much more. The two of them quietly waited for their arrival.
Suddenly, a cold wind rushed in. Two figures appeared before Huo Feng and Ruo Xi; these two were Muxiu and Nalan Bo. They were surprised to see Huo Feng and a girl. Then Nalan Bo burst out laughing, "Hahaha! I thought it was someone else; turns out it's you, Bastards. This is too easy! Today, I'll settle the score for my son." He charged towards Huo Feng and Ruo Xi, while Muxiu remained still.
"Ghost Shadow Demon Palm!"
Huo Feng knew he wasn't a match but wouldn't just stand there waiting to die. He exerted all his strength to unleash his strongest attack.
"Star Blade!"
At that moment, Ruo Xi also acted. She formed seals with her hands and pushed forward, sending a golden tiger-shaped energy flow crashing towards Nalan Bo. However, their attacks shattered under Nalan Bo's assault and both were sent plummeting into the fire pit below.
As they fell, Huo Feng tightly grasped Ruo Xi's hand. At that moment, they noticed another figure falling nearby, accompanied by a voice: "Muxiu, your brother is treacherous."
However, after falling for a certain distance, Huo Feng quickly realized that the Azure Blue Flames did not burn them and there was no high temperature. Ruo Xi then said, "This should be some kind of illusionary trick. That person must be quite powerful to create such a vast illusory scene."
Just as Huo Feng was about to say something, everything went dark before his eyes and he fainted.
After an unknown amount of time, Huo Feng slowly opened his eyes. Looking around, he found himself in a room that was completely empty except for a portrait hanging on the wall. Ruo Xi was lying beside him.
Huo Feng gently shook Ruo Xi. Ruo Xi opened her hazy eyes and saw Huo Feng, her face lighting up as she said, "Where are we? Didn't we just fall into a pit of fire? How come we're not burned to death?"
"I don't know either. I woke up here. Now that you're awake, let's quickly go outside and see where we are," Huo Feng said as he walked towards the door.
"Wait, there's nothing in this room except for a painting. Don't you think that's strange?"
Ruo Xi walked over to the painting and looked at it for a while but found nothing unusual, so she decided to lift it. When she lifted it, there was nothing behind it, so she reached out and knocked on the wall.
Suddenly, the wall began to rotate, revealing a secret chamber in front of Huo Feng. Ruo Xi cautiously stepped inside, and seeing her enter, Huo Feng hurriedly followed.
Inside the secret chamber were glowing beads similar to those outside. Other than some furniture, there was nothing else. Huo Feng looked around until he noticed a platform in one corner and walked over to it. Upon closer inspection, he found only a palm-sized circular ice block, which had some strange patterns on it that looked quite beautiful. So, Huo Feng picked it up.
As soon as Huo Feng picked up the ice block, the entire secret chamber suddenly plunged into darkness, and glowing words appeared on the wall.
"Fated person, I am pleased that you have discovered this secret chamber. I am the master here, known as 'Yohuo Mingjun.' I have set up three such secret chambers; anyone who discovers them will have the chance to obtain my treasures. Whether you can acquire them depends on your fortune. My greatest treasures are two major combat techniques and an Ice Puppet. These two combat techniques are 'Phantom Fire Clone' and 'Nether Break.'"
