Star Dragon God
When Huo Feng stepped into the city, he was once again taken aback. The architecture of Thunderstrike City resembled a grand palace, and its area was quite extensive. Looking along the main street, Huo Feng noticed that the road extended in a circular fashion from the city gate in both directions. He immediately speculated that the main thoroughfare of Thunderstrike City was likely built around Thunderstrike Mountain.
The buildings on either side of the main street were as magnificent as those in the Azure Wave Kingdom's Imperial Palace, opulent and constructed from massive blocks of polished granite that gleamed. There were many people around, but none appeared to be common citizens; even those running stalls by the roadside seemed to possess a certain elegance.
Seeing this, Huo Feng couldn't help but admire the strength of the Azure Calamity Nation, especially within Thunderstrike City, which was truly extraordinary. However, Huo Feng was not there to admire or praise the might of the Azure Calamity Nation; he had a more important purpose. He looked around carefully but found no sign of where to register for Thunderstrike Hall. Thus, he began to walk around the main thoroughfare of Thunderstrike City while searching.
After walking for a while, Huo Feng still found himself surrounded by various buildings and could not see any location related to recruiting Cavalry. Growing somewhat frustrated, he considered using Combat Techniques for a quick search due to the crowd on the street but feared drawing too much attention. However, if he continued searching slowly in such a vast Thunderstrike City, he wondered how long it would take to find what he needed.
"Make way, make way!"
Just as Huo Feng stood in the middle of the road searching for the Cavalry Selection registration point, a deep voice suddenly called out from behind him, accompanied by a series of thunderous footsteps that seemed to approach him instantly. Without thinking further, Huo Feng quickly stepped aside and turned to look back at his original position.
He saw two Lion-Hybrid Beasts squatting down, their front hooves forcibly halting their movement as they slid forward several yards before coming to a stop. The heads of these Lion-Hybrid Beasts were covered by iron masks attached to thick chains that extended backward to a large ornate Chariot. At that moment, a burly man on the Chariot stood up, leaning back as he pulled hard on the chain connected to the Lion-Hybrid Beasts. The Chariot appeared to carry more than twenty people, and Huo Feng quickly noticed that they all looked quite young and were above Earth Vein Realm.
At this time, the burly man released the chain and glared at Huo Feng angrily, saying in a rough voice, "Where did you come from, kid? Do you understand the rules? Don't you know that every Chariot in Thunderstrike City carries people?"
Huo Feng realized that he had been too absorbed in his surroundings and hadn't noticed these things. Although the man was angry, Huo Feng did not dislike him and replied apologetically, "I'm really sorry; this is my first time here, and I didn't know about Thunderstrike City's features." He looked again at the Chariot and continued speaking to the man, "By the way, sir, is your Chariot specifically for carrying people? Are there any requirements? I want to register for the Cavalry Selection Tournament but can't find the place."
Seeing that nothing serious had happened and gradually calming down after hearing Huo Feng's question, the burly man exclaimed in shock, "You’re here for the Cavalry Selection Tournament too? Are you sure about this? How did they let you through North City Gate? You don’t look like you have even level four combat power."
Huo Feng's strength was indeed beyond his perception; she had intentionally concealed her abilities. Thus, when she smiled slightly and was about to explain herself...
"Benefactor, you're also participating in the Cavalry Selection Tournament! What a coincidence! We were really worried about you, but now we can finally relax."
At that moment, an excited voice suddenly came from the Chariot. Huo Feng felt a sense of familiarity upon hearing the voice and immediately looked toward the Chariot. The big man and the others on the Chariot also turned to look at him. Huo Feng was surprised to find that the person was Ling, and Ling Zhi and Yan'er were beside him, though Yan'er still wore a cold expression.
"It's you guys," Huo Feng said with a slight smile.
The big man driving the Chariot then asked Ling, "Is this Fellow your savior? That can't be true! You three are all at Earth Vein Realm Level Two; how could one person save you?"
"Uncle Hao, this is absolutely true," Ling replied, looking at the big man driving the Chariot.
Huo Feng quickly explained, "It was actually just luck. I'm only at Tribulation Pulse Realm Three, but my abilities are a bit special, which is why I could save them."
The big man immediately laughed and said, "Looks like I really underestimated you. I'm transporting ore to register for the Cavalry Selection; you should hop on too. Normally there's a fee, but for you all, it's completely free."
"Thank you, Uncle Hao," Huo Feng said happily as he jumped onto the vehicle and sat down next to Ling and the others.
After Huo Feng sat down, Uncle Hao suddenly swung the chains and shouted, "Everyone hold on tight; we're setting off!"
With a swing of his chains, the two Lion-Hybrid Beasts sprang up from the ground, snorting white steam from their noses. Then they charged forward, causing the buildings on either side to rapidly recede behind them.
At that moment, Ling and Ling Zhi happily looked at Huo Feng. Ling exclaimed joyfully, "Benefactor, we really are fated! If we could all get bounties together, maybe we could end up in the same group!"
"Please don't call me benefactor; it sounds strange. Just call me Ruofeng," Huo Feng said, feeling uncomfortable with being addressed that way.
"Alright then, let's not be pretentious and just call you Ruo Feng Brother. By the way, I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Ling, this is my older brother Ling Zhi, and this young lady is Yuan Yan'er. You can call her Yan'er," Ling said a bit shyly, realizing that he had forgotten to introduce himself after chatting happily for a while.
Huo Feng and Ling Zhi exchanged smiles and nodded at each other. Huo Feng then turned to look at Yan'er, but she still maintained her cold demeanor, not even glancing at Huo Feng. Huo Feng shook his head helplessly, thinking to himself, "What is going on with Yan'er? It shouldn't be like this after so long. Didn't that thing with Ahua succeed?"
Huo Feng couldn't make sense of it, so he shook his head again and decided not to dwell on it.
"Everyone hold on tight; we've arrived at the registration point, and I need to stop now," Uncle Hao suddenly reminded them kindly.
