Star Dragon God
In an instant, Ruo Xi appeared at the location where Huo Feng had teleported, a desolate area devoid of any life, surrounded by rocks.
The Spirit Dragon suddenly spoke, "Strange, I sense the presence of many beings or things here, but there is also the aura of a dragon. How could that be? I have heard from the older generations of my kind that the dragons had long since migrated away. Yet, I can detect the presence of a Golden Wyvern and a Frost Dragon here, albeit faintly."
"Really?" Upon hearing that the Spirit Dragon sensed the aura of a Golden Wyvern, Ruo Xi immediately thought of Huo Feng and became excited. "That Golden Wyvern must be Brother Feng! Hurry, Spirit Dragon, you need to sense Uncle Huo's aura quickly. I will find him and take him to look for Brother Feng."
"You seem quite excited, but there's bad news I haven't told you. For some reason, while I can clearly sense your Uncle Huo's aura here, it only extends to this point and then cuts off toward the south."
"How could this happen? The south? Isn't that where Bloodshed Hall, one of the Three Major Forces, is located? That shouldn't be the case; Brother Feng has always had nothing to do with that domain. They wouldn't use such underhanded tactics against him. Still, I need to go check it out. I've heard that people from Bloodshed Hall are quite strange; it would be good to see for myself." With that, Ruo Xi headed straight for Underworld City, where Bloodshed Hall was located.
············
Underworld City is situated within a mountain range in the south, with Underworld Palace located inside it. This mountain range has been renamed as Nether Mountain due to Underworld Palace. It is filled with terrifying magical beasts; everyone in Underworld City belongs to Underworld Palace except for a few outsiders. Naturally, few would go through great hardships to come here. Therefore, to facilitate development, Underworld Palace has opened an underground passage.
Deep within Nether Mountain, two women were watching a middle-aged man who seemed to be under control; this man was Huo Lianqing. At that moment, a large man entered the waterfall cave and looked at Huo Lianqing while stroking his chin. "Sigh! We are actually kindred spirits in suffering. It's a pity you are resigned to your fate while I refuse to accept it. I will go against the tide. So even though I feel a sense of camaraderie with you, for the sake of my wife and our family reunion, I must put you in a difficult position."
Huo Lianqing completely did not understand what he was talking about—what kindred spirits in suffering or camaraderie meant—so he replied calmly, "Although I don't understand what you're saying, I think you live a miserable life and it's not worth it."
As soon as Huo Lianqing said this, the man immediately became furious and seemed somewhat out of control. He shouted, "You are so selfish! Do you think it's worthwhile to live alone your whole life, only thinking about your own woman in your heart while muddling through the second half of your life? You are weak and incompetent; you don't deserve the love of that noble person. But I'm different; I will take her back and live a happy life so my child can have a complete family."
"What do you mean by selfish? Is it not selfish to harm others' lives for your own sake? Besides, I don't even know you or your woman; are you mistaken? This is all so baffling." Huo Lianqing was puzzled.
The man snorted coldly and said, "How could I be mistaken? Your woman and my woman come from the same place. However, their power is immense; I need greater strength to infiltrate there and bring back my wife. The bloodline your woman possesses is the strongest from there, so..."
Huo Lianqing immediately reacted, "So you want to use me to threaten my wife?"
"Your wife doesn't count; threatening her with you will definitely be useless," the man replied.
Huo Lianqing immediately felt a chill run down his spine. Could it be that he wanted to devour Feng'er’s blood or something to enhance his own power? Thinking of this, Huo Lianqing became furious and shouted desperately, "You bastards, I won't let you succeed! Even if I have to commit suicide, I won't give you the chance to use me!"
The man sneered and said, "Do you really think you still have the ability to commit suicide?"
At that moment, a massive light blue magical beast appeared. Huo Lianqing glanced at it and realized he had lost consciousness. At this point, Huo Lianqing was like a walking corpse; although he could still move, he had completely lost his autonomy. In this state, there was no point in thinking about suicide. Even if he were alive, he would starve to death without anyone to take care of him.
The beast approached the man and surprisingly spoke in human language: "Father, I didn't expect that this misfortune would lead to such a great opportunity."
The magical beast actually called the man "father." The man looked at the beast with a softer tone and said, "Son, I'm sorry for you. I thought I would never see you again."
"Father, I'm fine. This is a good thing. Once our plan succeeds, we can reunite as a family."
The man still looked at the beast with some guilt and said, "I wanted to give you a normal life, but you can't transform into human form. It's my fault; I can only let you live in this place. Although you say otherwise, I know you're not comfortable with it."
"Father, don't worry. Once our plan succeeds, I will soon be able to transform into human form. Even if that doesn't work out, as long as I cultivate to a sufficient level, it will happen naturally."
Just then, the man's expression suddenly changed as he furrowed his brows. The magical beast asked, "Father, what's wrong?"
"Someone has entered Underworld City."
"Isn't that a normal occurrence?"
The man replied uneasily, "But this person is not ordinary. The Shadow Guard reported that this person carries the aura of the Three Major Sects and the Beast Cultivation Sect."
Then the man said to his beast son, "Zhan Er, you should continue cultivating here for now. I'll go take a look."
With that, he headed towards the entrance of the waterfall cave.
"Finally arrived, this Underworld City really is a bit different from what I've heard."
At this moment, Ruo Xi had passed through the underground passage and entered Underworld City. She saw that the entire city was made of black meteorite, giving it a somewhat eerie atmosphere. The city's residents, those from Underworld Palace, were all dressed in black, wearing dark cloaks as if they were trying to avoid being seen.
Ruo Xi wandered around for a bit and finally headed towards a hotel called Black Iron Inn, which seemed to have more people. Upon entering, she found the place packed with patrons, most of whom appeared to be outsiders.
Just then, a beautiful young girl walked in, and everyone immediately stared at Ruo Xi. The previously noisy atmosphere fell silent instantly; it was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop. It felt as if time and space had frozen in the inn, with only Ruo Xi ignoring everything and walking towards the counter.
Ruo Xi tapped on the counter and said, "Hey! I'm asking you something. Do you have any rooms available?"
The Hotel Owner shook his head to clear his thoughts and stared at Ruo Xi, saying, "Yes, yes, yes. Are you alone, miss?"
Ruo Xi coldly looked at him and replied with disdain, "Do you see anyone else beside me?"
"No, no. I'll take you to arrange a room right away." The Boss sensed Ruo Xi's disgust and tried to act more normal.
However, the quiet environment quickly became lively again, even more boisterous than before. Whistles and calls filled the air; several drunken men stumbled over to Ruo Xi and surrounded her. One of them said, "Hey there! Sister, all alone? You must be lonely. Why not share a room with us?"
Another chimed in with a sleazy tone, "Exactly! We’ll take good care of you."
One of them reached out to mess with Ruo Xi's hair. Instantly, her expression darkened. She stretched out her hand, and a gray claw-like Origin Force appeared in her palm, gripping the man's wrist tightly. He immediately cried out in pain: "Ah! Ouch... be gentle... ah..."
Ruo Xi tightened her grip further; his wrist turned purple as blood flow was cut off, and he screamed in agony. The others quickly sobered up upon seeing this and rushed to help their companion. But Ruo Xi ignored the man's arm completely; she lifted him effortlessly with one hand and spun around rapidly, sending the approaching men flying.
Ruo Xi glared fiercely and said, "You scum! Let me show you how I deal with you today."
With another squeeze of her hand, there was a loud crack as the man let out a pig-like scream. The others immediately knelt beside Ruo Xi with fearful expressions on their faces and pleaded, "Please spare us! We were just drunk earlier; we didn't mean any harm."
Seeing that it was time to make her point clear, Ruo Xi shifted her tone and said, "I can let you go, but if you can't answer my questions later, there will be no mercy."
"We must speak without reservation. Sister, please ask away. I will tell you everything, even about my ancestors for generations."
Ruo Xi couldn't be bothered with their desperate pleas and asked, "Have you seen a girl come here with a man recently? They should be easy to identify; it's clear they are not from here."
At that moment, one of them suddenly spoke up, "Yes, we have seen them, but... but..."
"But what? You can't be serious." Ruo Xi tightened her grip, and the person who had calmed down immediately cried out again.
Ruo Xi continued, "I will count to three. If you don't answer, I will kill you. Let's see if your life is more important than anything else."
"One."
"Two."
"I-I... they went to the Underworld Palace."
The person's voice became unusually quiet when mentioning the Underworld Palace, but Ruo Xi still heard it. She said, "Since that's the case, I will keep my promise and spare your lives. However..."
