Star Dragon God
Inside the waterfall cave of the unknown mountain in Underworld City.
“Zhan Er, Dad is back,” Lu Hui said towards a stone door deep within the cave.
After seeing no response, he turned to leave, but at that moment, a voice came from inside.
“Dad, how is it? Is that Huo Feng really not dead? From your tone, did he get taken by the other two forces?”
Lu Hui turned back to face the stone door and sighed with great reluctance, “No, I let him escape. I didn’t expect that in just over a year, he has improved so much, and I was severely injured by him. I still haven’t fully recovered.”
“Ah! Dad, you’re hurt?”
As this voice came from inside, the stone door also made a sound and then opened wide; a huge light blue magical beast stepped out.
This magical beast was actually Ice, and it was Ice who called Lu Hui Dad.
As soon as Ice emerged, it anxiously asked, “Dad, how are you?”
Lu Hui waved his hand and said, “I just need some time to recuperate.”
But then his expression brightened with joy as he exclaimed, “Zhan Er, you… you’ve broken through? I can’t even see your strength clearly now. What realm are you at?”
Ice had been working hard over the past year, often retreating for cultivation because it wanted to transform into human form as soon as possible. That way, it could live normally and embrace its father Lu Hui. Deep down, it had always longed for the loving embrace of this kind father.
Although it still couldn’t transform into human form, Ice was quite satisfied with its recent improvement and happily said, “Yes! I’ve now broken through to the level of a Oblivion Tempest advanced magical beast.”
However, its tone soon became serious again as it said, “Dad, let’s talk about the changes with Huo Feng over the past year.”
Huo Feng and Lu Hui emerged from the joy of breaking through the ice, becoming serious. Lu Hui said, "That guy has become incredibly powerful. Even when I teamed up with those two bastards, we still let him escape, and I ended up seriously injured..."
Lu Hui recounted the battle to Bing without missing a word. After listening, Bing remained unresponsive and silent for a long time. Lu Hui thought Bing was feeling discouraged and quickly said, "Zhan Er, don't lose heart. He only has stronger bloodline power than you. I believe with your talent and effort, you can definitely surpass him."
Bing finally spoke, "I know it won't be easy to surpass him."
"Zhan Er..." Lu Hui looked at Bing with some concern.
"Father, don't worry. I haven't lost confidence or become disheartened; I just have other plans now," Bing said as he gazed toward the waterfall outside the cave. He continued, "I've decided to go out and find him. As for controlling him, you don't need to interfere; I'll handle it myself. If those two old dogs make any moves, just keep an eye on them and hold them back."
Hearing that Bing wanted to confront Huo Feng personally made Lu Hui even more worried as he thought of Huo Feng's terrifying strength. However, he also knew that once Bing had made up his mind, even he couldn't change it. So he looked at Bing nervously and said, "But that's too dangerous."
Bing raised a paw to stop Lu Hui from continuing and firmly said, "Father, I know what I'm doing."
Bing understood that the Three Major Forces couldn't easily deal with Huo Feng right now, so he decided to take matters into his own hands. He planned to use his brotherly relationship with Huo Feng to find an opportunity to take him down.
Although Lu Hui was extremely worried, he had no way to sway Bing's decision. He could only say, "Just be careful. I'll send someone to protect you in secret, and if there's any news, I'll inform you promptly. But what exactly do you plan to do?"
Bing didn't respond but suddenly emitted a bright light from his body. In the next moment, his massive form vanished into thin air, and even his presence became faint; at that moment, Lu Hui saw that Bing had shrunk to the size of a fist, and his aura was so weak that even Aloe felt she could crush him effortlessly.
Lu Hui looked at Bing in surprise and asked, "What are you...?"
Bing lightly leaped onto Lu Hui's shoulder and whispered in his ear. After hearing this, Lu Hui gradually revealed a smile and nodded in approval.
Lu Hui suddenly became excited and said, "I'll go find someone for you right away. I believe it should be quite easy to find a Ninth Level of Connection here in Underworld City."
With that, Lu Hui turned around and rushed out of the cave, swiftly disappearing beyond the waterfall. Bing then moved his body into a concealed cave closer to the entrance of their hideout.
Huo Lianqing was sitting on a stone bench, frowning in annoyance. Beside him stood two beautiful women in black, who immediately approached when Bing arrived, bowing and saying, "Master."
Bing addressed them, "I have a task for you. Disguise her and then follow me from the shadows. Remember not to stay too close; we can sense each other's presence, so just maintain a reasonable distance."
Bing spoke these words without hiding them from Huo Lianqing, who immediately became tense and angrily asked, "What tricks are you trying to play? Don't think you can control me easily. If you take me out, I will do everything I can to sabotage your plans."
Huo Lianqing understood that they had captured him to control his son, Huo Feng. This sudden plan to take him out must indicate some major action against Huo Feng, which posed a threat. He hoped they would leave him here a little longer so that Huo Feng would be safer.
However, he was unaware of how powerful Bing truly was. At that moment, Bing paid no attention to Huo Lianqing's words and simply walked up to him. He extended his claw and waved it at Huo Lianqing. In an instant, Huo Lianqing's eyes dimmed; the anger and worry he had felt vanished, and his furrowed brow relaxed.
Satisfied, Bing then moved swiftly outside the cave, heading straight for the Underworld Palace.
...
At midnight, Huo Feng had stopped wandering around Pharmacy City and instead found a pile of abandoned stones in the Imperial City Tower. He sat down but did not begin cultivating; instead, he was preoccupied with thoughts of Bing and felt quite frustrated.
"Son, are you feeling troubled lately? You seem less diligent in your cultivation than before. Don't let your achievements in Oblivion Tempest inflate your ego," the Seven Star Spirit reminded him.
Vankun's fiery temper flared up as he disdainfully replied, "You old fool only know about cultivation. Don’t you realize that even if we don’t practice, we can still improve rapidly?"
The Seven Star Spirit seemed particularly lively after Vankun's arrival. Always ready for a verbal sparring match, he immediately retorted, "Do you think they are still the same as before? They are merely evolved from your fragmented self after countless generations of reproduction; they aren't purebloods. Do you really think your bloodline can defy nature?"
"Old Fellow, if you're not convinced, come fight me! We can defy it if we want!" Vankun was quick to rise to the challenge.
At this moment, Huo Feng impatiently interjected, "Stop arguing; I'm already annoyed."
The Seven Star Spirit quickly blamed Vankun, saying, "It's all your fault for butting in when it wasn't necessary."
Vankun suddenly became more composed, not arguing with the Seven Star Spirit but instead scoffing and saying to Huo Feng, "You are really embarrassing my dragon lineage. Is there anyone like you? So indecisive and hesitant. If you have something in mind, just go for it boldly. Why worry so much?"
Huo Feng was taken aback by Vankun's words. After thinking for a moment, he realized that his strength was sufficient now. Since he was so worried about Bing, why not just go find him? Worrying here wouldn’t help him locate Bing.
With that thought, Huo Feng made up his mind to leave this place regardless of whether Ming Luofu woke up or not, and to search for Bing. With this resolution, Huo Feng felt much calmer and closed his eyes, beginning to cultivate amidst the ruins under the night sky.
After a moment, Huo Feng entered a meditative state. At this time, four silver-white lights began to glow from his body—at his forehead, chest, left arm, and right arm—connected by a silver-white thread of energy.
In the distance, Zhao Alliance Leader was leisurely strolling in a pavilion when he suddenly sensed a faint anomaly. He quickly flew outside and looked toward the direction where Huo Feng was cultivating.
Zhao Alliance Leader immediately spotted Huo Feng and was astonished by the shining points of light on him. He murmured to himself, "I didn't expect this child to have such a unique cultivation method. I can even feel the stars in the sky pouring special Origin Force onto him. Could it be related to those silver-white lights that resemble stars on him?"
After his shock, Zhao Alliance Leader smiled and said to himself, "If this child grows up, he will surely be extraordinary. I believe even the Three Ancient Sects cannot sway him. Moreover, his character and comprehension seem quite good. I must protect him well; perhaps he will have the ability to change the current state of this continent in the future."
Half the night passed in the blink of an eye. Huo Feng suddenly opened his eyes, took a long breath, then sprang up and headed towards Grandpa Gu's location. Huo Feng planned to check on Rofu first before setting off to find Bing. He was determined to locate Bing this time and bring him to find the dragon clan—not only to reunite Bing with his parents but also to unravel the mystery of his own bloodline.
