Hongjun stayed in the valley for several days, using his own magical power to nurture Ye Chuanze's damaged Primordial Spirit until it stabilized. The Hongjun Daoist, dressed in a purple robe with flowing hair, glanced at the Twelfth-Grade Annihilation Black Lotus quietly blooming on the azure lake and paused for a moment before turning to leave the valley. Now that Ye Chuanze was no longer in danger, he had no reason to linger here.
Since that day when Ye Chuanze's Primordial Spirit was damaged and he fell into a coma after failing his transformation tribulation, his Primordial Spirit gradually began to recover, and recently there were faint signs of awakening. Hongjun chose this moment to leave, likely not wanting Ye Chuanze to see him upon waking. It seemed that from the very beginning, he had been too entangled with this defiant Twelfth-Grade Annihilation Black Lotus, which was not a good sign. The path Ye Chuanze had to walk was destined to be one of solitude; Hongjun did not want him to become overly reliant on others. For once dependence takes root, it leads to weakness, and on a path that defies heaven, even the slightest weakness could result in downfall.
Hongjun looked forward to Ye Chuanze's future and did not wish for him to fall too soon. He wanted to see how far this person, who dared to challenge the heavenly way and go against fate, could ultimately go; he even anticipated his success. Would the lofty heavenly way that looked down upon everything truly be as unyielding as it seemed? Hongjun hoped Ye Chuanze would provide him with the answer. To this end, he did not mind offering some assistance within his capabilities.
On the second day after Hongjun left, Ye Chuanze awakened from his coma.
Just waking up from his stupor, Ye Chuanze felt slightly disoriented. He remembered the day of his failed tribulation; while in a coma, he seemed to have caught a faint whiff of cold plum blossoms. Perhaps it was an illusion? No, it was not an illusion. Someone truly saved him; Ye Chuanze vaguely recalled that during his unconsciousness, a gentle and pure power from the outside world nourished and repaired his damaged Primordial Spirit. Without this power's help, he would not have awakened so quickly.
Who was the one who saved him? For some reason, the image of the Hongjun Daoist in a purple robe with flowing hair surfaced in Ye Chuanze's mind, and he felt certain that it was him. In an instant, Ye Chuanze's heart became quite complicated. Counting this time, he had already received two favors from Hongjun: the first being the impartation of teachings upon their first meeting and now this life-saving grace. Ye Chuanze had a premonition that his connection with Hongjun might run deep.
The first failure of his transformation tribulation left Ye Chuanze feeling downcast for a while, but he quickly returned to normal. In fact, even before the tribulation, he had sensed that this transformation would fail. However, until the moment of true failure arrived, he refused to admit defeat and always thought about giving it one last shot. When the moment of failure finally came, he inevitably felt dejected but was not entirely surprised; it was more like an "Ah! I knew I would fail..." kind of realization.
After feeling down for some time, Ye Chuanze rallied himself again and immersed himself in cultivation. He resolved that if one transformation tribulation did not work, then there would be a second, third, fourth... until success was achieved. Now what he lacked most was time; he could afford to wait! If he faced repeated failures in battle, then he would fight again and again—success belongs to those who persevere.
This time around, although he failed in his transformation tribulation, Ye Chuanze gained some insights into the laws of heaven from the experience. He began secluding himself for cultivation to comprehend these heavenly laws. Only by understanding the rules could one avoid being bound by them. If he wanted to go against heaven's will, he first needed to know what heaven's way truly was. The Great Dao has fifty aspects; heaven manifests forty-nine and one escapes from it. That escaping one is a glimmer of hope. Heaven is merciful enough to leave behind a thread of opportunity; thus, heaven's way is not entirely unalterable. What Ye Chuanze needed to do was seize this glimmer of hope; he went against heaven but did not oppose its principles.
From beginning to end, Ye Chuanze's wish remained singular: to attain human form without being bound by others and roam freely between heaven and earth. Everyone's path is different; Ye Chuanze's path is one of freedom—the path of true self. Roaming freely between heaven and earth while upholding beliefs without straying from one's true heart is his righteous path. The heavenly way has forty-nine aspects; countless Dao Laws ultimately converge into one righteous path.

On this day, the sun shone brightly with a gentle breeze under a cloudless sky. The lush green valley welcomed an unexpected guest.
Fuxi stood by the lakeside in white robes as pure as snow with ink-black hair looking at the Twelfth-Grade Annihilation Black Lotus. His brows relaxed after many days of tension as he said softly, "I knew you wouldn't die so easily."
Ye Chuanze listened to his subtle and gentle concern, unable to help but smile slightly as he complained, "I've been in trouble for so many days, and this is the first time I've seen you come to visit me. Truly... heartless, Fuxi."
"Since your tribulation, Valley has been sealed by someone, and neither I nor Nüwa could enter. It was only recently that the seal was lifted. Originally, Nüwa wanted to come see you, but I stopped her, fearing she would disturb your cultivation," Fuxi explained calmly.
Upon hearing this, Ye Chuanze couldn't help but admire Fuxi's thoughtfulness. He knew that the first thing Fuxi did after waking from his coma was to cultivate and comprehend the laws of thunder from the tribulation. Fuxi was indeed a person of great wisdom. However, considering that he would become the future Human Emperor, the leader of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, guiding humanity towards development and making indelible contributions respected by future generations, it was natural for him to be exceptionally wise and talented.
"You mentioned that someone sealed Valley. Who is that person?" Ye Chuanze asked.
"I have not seen that person's figure with Nüwa, so I do not know who they are."
Hearing Fuxi's answer, Ye Chuanze felt somewhat disappointed. Although he suspected that the person might be Hongjun, he still hoped someone would provide him with a definite answer.
Noticing his silence, Fuxi guessed what he was thinking and comforted him, "Since they helped you, they must be acquainted with you. You will not lack opportunities to meet in the future."
After considering this, Ye Chuanze decided not to dwell on the issue any longer.
"Why isn't Nüwa here?" Ye Chuanze asked, then complained, "Tsk... I'm in this state and she hasn't even come to see me once. Truly heartless!"
Upon hearing this, Fuxi couldn't help but smile slightly; just recently, Ye Chuanze had said something similar to him.
"What state are you in?" A clear female voice suddenly approached. Nüwa walked closer and said, "I see no difference in your condition compared to before. Why would anyone need to worry about you?"
"Ah!" Ye Chuanze sighed deeply and replied sadly, "You don't understand... It's precisely because there's no difference that I need your concern. Do you know? Both my body and heart have suffered tremendous injuries. If I were to lose hope, you might never see me again." If there were any difference from before, I would be a person now rather than a lotus flower!
Both Fuxi and Nüwa fell silent upon hearing this. In fact, before coming to see Ye Chuanze, they had already prepared themselves to face a despondent and depressed individual who might even go mad from the blow. After all, before his tribulation, Ye Chuanze had shown such importance towards this transformation tribulation. Both Fuxi and Nüwa had always understood his obsession with achieving human form and could empathize with his sorrow and pain as a spiritual being who had awakened intelligence yet could not transform into human form.
To their surprise, Ye Chuanze showed no signs of despair or depression; instead, there was a hint of excitement... or was it? Had the thunder tribulation scrambled his brain? Was he out of his mind? Hearing Ye Chuanze's seemingly genuine yet ambiguous lamentations, they surprisingly refrained from retorting or teasing him back. Ahem... It must be said that interactions between people are mutually influential and significant.
Ye Chuanze had always been quite the talker, and Fuxi and Nüwa, having spent a long time with him, were deeply influenced by his ways. From initially being on the receiving end of one-sided teasing to now exchanging banter, Fuxi and Nüwa had made rapid progress in their verbal skills. In future encounters with the Primordial beings known for their sharp tongues, they would never be at a disadvantage.
It was Fuxi who first broke the silence, saying, “Don’t be too sad. To have escaped death from the Nine Heavens Divine Thunder and avoided total destruction is already fortunate. As for your cultivation, just take your time; you will have opportunities to transform again in the future.”
Nüwa quickly added, “What my brother says makes sense. Ye Chuanze, just focus on your cultivation and wait for the chance to transform again.”
Hearing their words of concern, Ye Chuanze couldn’t help but smile, feeling quite pleased. “Thank you both for your concern; I will remember it! I won’t let you down.” Years of neighborly friendship were not in vain! It was worth moving to Buzhou Mountain back then.
“However…” Ye Chuanze continued, “I believe that merely cultivating is not the best approach. It’s also necessary to venture out and gain experience; combining cultivation with travel is the right path.”
Upon hearing this, Fuxi couldn’t help but twitch his face in disbelief and after a moment of silence said, “How do you plan to travel?” Are you going to wander around with a lotus flower on your head? Be careful not to attract a swarm of opportunists after your exceptional innate treasures.
“Hehe!” Ye Chuanze couldn’t help but grin mischievously at this.
After hearing this, Fuxi suddenly felt an ominous premonition rising in his heart.
