Ye Chuanze swore that his action was purely a subconscious habit, with absolutely no other meaning! He swore!! So he was somewhat confused by Hongjun's meaning. Was he... angry? Why was he angry?
Hongjun raised his eyes, coldly staring at Black Lotus, who was lying on Fuxi's white-clad shoulder, his expression revealing a sense of sternness. His voice coldly repeated, "Come back now!"
Ye Chuanze felt puzzled and hesitated in his actions. Black Lotus remained motionless on Fuxi's shoulder, flickering with dim purple-black light.
Seeing that he still did not move, Hongjun's expression darkened. " Ye Chuanze! Come back!" His voice grew increasingly sharp, tinged with impatience.
Ye Chuanze was startled by his sudden anger and felt alarmed, becoming even more reluctant to return to his side. He feared that if he went back to Hongjun, in a fit of anger, Hongjun might just reach out a finger and crush him, leading to his utter destruction.
To Hongjun, it seemed that Ye Chuanze was infatuated with Fuxi's shoulder, clinging to him and refusing to leave, as if he would run off with someone else soon. The palm-sized Black Lotus lay on Fuxi's white-clad shoulder; Fuxi was handsome, beautiful and delicate, creating a strikingly lovely scene. However, this beauty was extremely displeasing to Hongjun. He suddenly began to understand Rahul, realizing that this Black Lotus truly could not be tamed! He had once mocked Rahul, whose carefully nurtured Spiritual Treasure had run away; now it was his turn...
Regardless of how he had treated Ye Chuanze before, at least during their time in the Purple Cloud Palace, he had genuinely cared for him. He nourished him daily with spiritual spring water and provided guidance. He considered himself a responsible master; why then did Ye Chuanze refuse to stay? A faint sense of unwillingness surged within Hongjun, leaving the expression on his face far from pleasant.
"I thought we were getting along well during this time," Hongjun said lightly, looking at the flower lying on Fuxi's shoulder.
Upon hearing this, Ye Chuanze felt a stir in his heart and began recalling the time spent with Hongjun Daoist in the Purple Cloud Palace. Indeed, while they occasionally bickered, there were no irreconcilable grievances between them; overall, their relationship had been quite good.
The Black Lotus, resting on Fuxi's shoulder, slowly floated up into the air, gradually enlarging until it flew in front of Hongjun and landed. Ye Chuanze revealed his ethereal form and sat upon the Lotus Platform. His dark eyes gazed at Hongjun, and he spoke: "That is indeed true, but what does it signify?"
Upon hearing this, Hongjun's gaze darkened further, and the aura around him grew even colder.
"Or should I say, what are you angry about? Why are you angry?" Ye Chuanze continued to look at him and said: "I have healed and am leaving; isn't that quite normal? What is there for you to be angry about? From the very beginning, you knew this day would come, didn't you?"
"..." Hongjun fell silent at these words.
After a brief pause, Ye Chuanze sighed: "Hongjun, you must be lonely! The Purple Cloud Palace is indeed too desolate."
"Call me Master," Hongjun suddenly said. "Did you not say I should take on a few disciples to alleviate the boredom in the Purple Cloud Palace? You can be my disciple; I need not look for others."
Upon hearing this, Ye Chuanze almost blurted out: "Aren't the Three Pure Ones your disciples too!" Fortunately, he held back; otherwise, the Three Pure Ones would surely hate him. When the Three Pure Ones traveled through the Primordial realm, they never mentioned having a master and always presented themselves as unfamiliar with Hongjun. It seemed they did not want others to know about their relationship with him. If today’s slip of the tongue occurred for Ye Chuanze, animosity would undoubtedly arise.
At this moment, Ye Chuanze, who was completely focused on Hongjun, did not notice the changes in the expressions of the others present. Fuxi and Nüwa showed slight surprise upon hearing this; they had anticipated that Ye Chuanze had a close relationship with Hongjun, but they did not expect it to be of this nature. Ye Chuanze had never mentioned that he was a disciple of Hongjun. Zhen Yuanzi and Red Cloud also displayed astonishment, but soon relaxed, realizing there was no need to worry about Mr. Ye's safety.
However, upon hearing this, Di Jun flashed a hint of anger, thinking to himself that this Ye Chuanze was truly untrustworthy! He had deceived him and claimed he had no significant relationship with Hongjun! Since Hongjun himself acknowledged him as his disciple. Compared to the reactions of others, Taiyi appeared much calmer; he merely raised an eyebrow in surprise at first, then returned to his usual demeanor, seemingly indifferent. He had stayed behind primarily because of Di Jun and was not concerned about Ye Chuanze's fate; to him, everyone except his brother was an inconsequential stranger.
The onlooking Western Duo, however, began to calculate in their minds that it seemed unwise to provoke Ye Chuanze. Anyone with eyes could see that this Hongjun Daoist possessed profound abilities unmatched by anyone else. Nearly half of the celestial beings from the Primordial era respectfully referred to him as their teacher, indicating that his capabilities were indeed considerable. In the future, it was likely that all sentient beings from the Primordial would respectfully call him Dao Ancestor. Who would dare offend the disciple of such a Dao Ancestor?
Ye Chuanze suppressed his thoughts and said, "You are not my only disciple; why must I be the one to stay?"
The crowd gasped again upon hearing this; it turned out that there were other disciples of Hongjun Daoist. Who might those other disciples be? Where were they now? Had they come to listen when Hongjun preached at the Purple Cloud Palace?
Without hesitation, Hongjun replied, "I only need you to stay."
"……" Suddenly, Ye Chuanze felt as if he had boarded a pirate ship. Was it possible that when Hongjun took him as a disciple, he had this intention in mind?
Seeing him silent, Hongjun softened his tone and said, "Isn't it good to stay at the Purple Cloud Palace? I can help you transform and overcome your tribulation."
"If I don't stay, will you not help me transform and overcome my tribulation?" Ye Chuanze retorted.
Upon hearing this, Hongjun frowned and after a moment of silence said, "Of course not."
"Then that's settled. Since that's the case, why should I stay?" replied Ye Chuanze.
This statement from Ye Chuanze was somewhat presumptuous; he was indeed pushing his luck. However, surprisingly, Hongjun indulged him. During his time at the Purple Cloud Palace, Ye Chuanze, who had a strong and stubborn temperament, often used words to provoke Hongjun. Yet, all that time, Hongjun merely frowned without showing any anger. In this regard, it could be said that Hongjun had a remarkably good temper and was quite lenient towards Ye Chuanze. Knowing how to take advantage of others' kindness, if someone treated him well, he would push for more. Just imagine if he dared speak like this to Rahul! He wouldn't even have the courage!
Seeing that Hongjun remained silent with a frown on his face, Ye Chuanze realized he might have gone too far with his words. Thus, he softened his tone and said, "Master, the environment within the Purple Cloud Palace is too comfortable; it's not suitable for me. Comfort breeds complacency and hinders progress. I don't want to face my tribulation again in a state of helplessness."
After a moment of silence, Hongjun sighed softly and said after a long pause: "Since you have made up your mind, I won't stop you. Go as you wish!"
Only then did a smile appear on Ye Chuanze's face as he flatteringly said, "Master need not miss me; in at most a thousand years, you will see me again." After all, he would not miss the last preaching session at the Purple Cloud Palace.
Upon hearing this, Zhun Ti's eyes flickered as he thought: It seems that among those celestial beings who came to listen to the teachings is indeed one of Hongjun's disciples.
Hearing this, Hongjun snorted coldly and looked at him with a stern voice saying: "You won't come just for nothing!"
Ye Chuanze looked up at him with a pure expression and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"Hmph!" Hongjun flicked his sleeve and coldly replied, "Get lost! Don't stay here and annoy me!"
"I'm leaving, Master. Don't think about me!"
The enormous Black Lotus shrank down to the size of a palm and flew back onto Fuxi's white-clad shoulder. Ye Chuanze's ethereal form also shrank to the size of a thumb, sitting on the Lotus Platform and swinging his little legs, looking quite pleased.
Hongjun scanned the remaining figures of Di Jun, Zhun Ti, and others with a displeased expression and said coldly, "Why are you all still here?"
Hearing this, Di Jun, Zhun Ti, and the others were startled and fell silent.
"If you have something to say, just say it," Hongjun said impatiently.
The group quickly spoke up, "We stayed behind just to worry about Mr. Ye."
Ye Chuanze felt as if he had been shot in the knee and muttered softly, "How come I didn't know I was so popular?"
The others pretended not to hear him; at that moment, no one cared about Ye Chuanze's thoughts. They just hoped to appease Hongjun. It was clear to everyone that Hongjun was in a bad mood, and they did not want to bear the brunt of his anger.
Hongjun snorted in displeasure and said, "He's doing just fine; he doesn't need your concern."
The group exchanged glances and then spoke in unison, "Since Mr. Ye is fine, we can rest assured. We won't disturb your meditation any longer. Farewell!"
Ye Chuanze felt a sharp pain in his knee.
After exiting the Purple Cloud Palace, everyone wiped the sweat from their foreheads, feeling a sense of relief as if they had survived a disaster.
Red Cloud suddenly laughed and said, "That was quite thrilling!"
"Indeed!"
"Absolutely!"
"Yes!"
"......"
It was rare for everyone to be in agreement, and they echoed in unison.
Ye Chuanze found it amusing and said with a hint of mischief, "Then it seems I have caused you trouble. If it weren't for worrying about me, you wouldn't need to stay here facing the master."
"Cough, cough..."
"Cough, cough..."
"Cough, cough..."
"......"
A series of coughs erupted, and everyone's faces turned red, clearly recalling the earlier incident in Purple Cloud Palace where they used Ye Chuanze as a shield.
Zhun Ti, having a thicker skin, was the first to speak up, saying, " Mr. Ye is too polite. Seeing that you are fine puts us at ease."
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
"......"
With someone starting the conversation, the others quickly followed suit.
In response, Ye Chuanze merely chuckled lightly, maintaining an expressionless demeanor.
Inside Purple Cloud Palace, Hongjun sat atop the Lotus Platform, gazing at the empty and desolate surroundings of Purple Cloud Palace. His expression was inscrutable, and after a while, he let out a deep sigh. A person who has long resided in a land of ice and snow becomes enamored with the fiery heat that is so different from the cold; they are reluctant to part with that searing warmth.
