The moonlight was thick, and the stars sparkled brightly. Occasionally, a shooting star would streak across the sky, vanishing in the blink of an eye. 0

The evening breeze gently blew by. A figure in a Purple Robe and Flowing Hair, the Hongjun Daoist, had long sleeves fluttering, giving off an air of ethereal grace, untouched by the mundane world. However, the person cradled in his arms somewhat spoiled the atmosphere. 0

Ye Chuanze had long limbs and a slightly taller stature, nestled in Hongjun's embrace, curled up and looking somewhat pitiful. His black hair fell messily on either side of his cheeks, softening his originally sharp features. His slightly flushed cheeks and narrow eyes, along with lips that were usually pale but now appeared vividly red—likely due to alcohol—gave him an unexpectedly alluring quality. 0

Those who are awake often hide behind layers of disguise, making it hard to see their true selves. Even when asleep, he furrowed his brows, his expression wary and unwilling to relax. Only when completely intoxicated and his mind clouded would he reveal his most primordial self. 0

Fragile, anxious, sensitive, yet unexpectedly resilient, strong, and confident. 0

These completely extreme attributes perfectly manifested in one person. His nature was contradictory and complex, yet he was also remarkably simple; you might feel you understood him well but found yourself utterly confused. Still, you could confidently say he was someone worth trusting. 0

Hongjun had to admit that Ye Chuanze was a very charming and likable person. Fuxi appeared gentle but was perceptive and distant from others. Nüwa was proud and dismissive of the mundane world, making it difficult for ordinary people to catch her eye. Zhen Yuanzi was smooth-tongued and rarely formed deep connections with others. Yet Ye Chuanze maintained close relationships with these individuals; not to mention the countless other immortals with whom he had formed good ties. Upon reflection, it seemed Ye Chuanze had no enemies but rather an abundance of good relations. 0

Even the notoriously difficult-to-deal-with Kitsunetsu, the leader of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, had a favorable impression of him. If not for this, Kitsunetsu would not have made a promise to assist Ye Chuanze. There were countless ways to resolve Karma, yet Kitsunetsu chose a method that was most beneficial for Ye Chuanze while also being quite troublesome for himself. 0

Thinking this way, Hongjun couldn't help but glance down at the person in his arms. Seeing him with tightly closed eyes, completely oblivious in his drunken state, he sighed inwardly. It was hard to tell what made this person so likable when he seemed so emotionally detached. 0

Perhaps it was his straightforwardness! He clearly expressed his likes and dislikes without hiding them at all—bluntly stating his intentions even when scheming against others. There was a sense of "I plan to scheme against you; you better accept it willingly; if you dare resist, I will suppress you!" His frankness made him hard to dislike; such a person seemed far more endearing than those who would stab you in the back silently without warning. 0

Before Ye Chuanze would stab you, he would tell you outright: "I don't like you; I will stab you sooner or later." This was how he dealt with Rahul initially; thus Rahul fell into his trap and met his end at Hongjun's hands—dying while abandoning his righteous path to delve into demonic ways and undergo rebirth. 0

This outcome was within Rahul's expectations; therefore, he never hated Ye Chuanze nor held any grievances—only a slight sense of unwillingness lingered in his heart. This person truly seemed too emotionally detached! After Rahul's rebirth into demonic ways, he led the Outer Realm and suppressed the demons. At this time, shortly after the creation of heaven and earth when everything was still taking shape, the Primordial World was tender and fragile; demons could not emerge. Otherwise, chaos would ensue in heaven and earth; hence someone needed to lead the Outer Realm to suppress the rampant demons. 0

Rahul was chosen by the Heavenly Dao; he corrected the path yet acted in demonic ways while possessing great compassion—not someone who would bring calamity upon heaven and earth. Thus, the Heavenly Dao selected him to suppress the demons. 0

Demons cannot be eradicated; as the Primordial World gradually developed and sentient beings continued to be born, more demonic creatures would arise. The demons needed a king to lead and restrain them; Rahul was precisely that Demon Ancestor chosen by the Heavenly Dao. 0

In contrast stood Dao Ancestor Hongjun—Hongjun's nature was indifferent and emotionally detached; he pursued the Great Dao throughout his life but ultimately could not attain it. He held aspirations for the Great Dao but lived in an era where it eluded him. The Heavenly Dao had already been born; thus seeking the Great Dao became impossible. Hongjun possessed great wisdom, immense perseverance, and significant merit; he also obtained half of the Creation Jade Plate—a person endowed with great fortune. The Heavenly Dao chose him to manage the Primordial righteous realm due to his deficiencies. 0

Faced with the sudden opportunity, Hongjun, like Rahul, chose without hesitation the path most beneficial to himself. He decided to align with the Dao, to complement the Heavenly Dao, and to pursue the highest realm he could achieve at this stage. After achieving alignment, he was still not satisfied and sought an even higher realm. 0

Above the Heavenly Dao is the Great Dao; what lies beyond the Great Dao? What is the Dao ultimately? 0

This is the truth that we cultivators seek throughout our lives. 0

Hongjun held Ye Chuanze in his arms as he walked down the long and winding corridor. The moonlight illuminated his face intermittently, concealing the myriad emotions on it. At the end of the corridor, a left turn led to the Northern Courtyard, where Ye Chuanze resided. 0

As Hongjun carried him toward the Northern Courtyard, he happened upon Primordial and Sky-Connecting playing chess in the garden. 0

Upon seeing Hongjun, Primordial and Sky-Connecting were slightly startled. When they noticed who Hongjun was holding, their expressions shifted subtly. The two opened their mouths to speak but were silenced by Hongjun's gesture; he slightly shook his head to indicate they should remain quiet. Seeing this, Primordial and Sky-Connecting immediately fell silent, guessing that Hongjun did not want to wake the sleeping Ye Chuanze. 0

Hongjun cast a calm glance at them before continuing forward while holding Ye Chuanze. 0

After Hongjun had walked far away, Sky-Connecting finally spoke up: "I didn't expect Master to come. Second Brother, do you think Master and Brother Ye have some sort of connection?" 0

Primordial held a chess piece and replied coldly, "Did you finally notice?" He then placed a piece on the board and added nonchalantly, "Master and Brother Ye should be old acquaintances." 0

"Really?" Sky-Connecting exclaimed in surprise. 0

"If they weren't old acquaintances, why would Master care so much?" 0

"Oh! How did I not think of that? You really are clever, Second Brother." Upon hearing this, Sky-Connecting's expression changed to one of realization. 0

Primordial shot him a cold glance and said, "When will you be able to think of these things? Don't flatter me for being clever; I don't feel happy about your praise at all. If you could make a little progress, both I and Elder Brother would have much less to worry about." 0

Sky-Connecting felt embarrassed at this remark and said, "Second Brother, you're talking too much today." 0

Upon hearing this, Primordial became angry. "You think I'm talking too much? If you were more considerate, I wouldn't need to talk so much! Just look at what you've done over the years..." It seemed like a floodgate had opened as Primordial began to lecture his younger brother without stopping. 0

Sky-Connecting saw him getting increasingly angry and rambling on endlessly, so he quietly moved the chessboard, hiding a few pieces, and then said, "Second Brother, you lost." 0

Primordial immediately stopped talking and replied firmly, "That's impossible!" 0

He quickly lowered his head to look at the chessboard, and after a few seconds, he let out an angry roar, "Sky-Connecting! You changed the chessboard again without permission!" 0

"Second Brother, calm down! Calm down!" 0

"Sky-Connecting, I tell you, your behavior is truly too malicious..." blabbering on, Primordial started scolding again. 0

Sky-Connecting secretly clenched a few chess pieces under the table, smiling as he watched Primordial across from him, who was angrily talking non-stop. It was quite amusing to see Second Brother like this; his endless rambling was much more entertaining than his usual icy demeanor. 0

Meanwhile, Hongjun arrived at Ye Chuanze's room and pushed the door open to enter. 0

He glanced around the room; the furnishings were very simple. In the center stood a table with two seats made of mats. Above it was a Lotus Platform for meditation. There were also a few shelves and a bed—very basic accommodations. 0

Looking at the sparse setup in the room, Hongjun couldn't help but frown. This shabby place had no warmth or liveliness; it felt like a temporary dwelling that one could move into or leave at any time. It didn't seem like a place meant for long-term residence. 0

He pondered for a moment with a furrowed brow before carrying Ye Chuanze inside and placing him on the bed. 0

As soon as Ye Chuanze touched the bed, he rolled over and flipped several times, causing his long black hair to become disheveled. His clothing pulled open further, revealing a large expanse of well-defined abs—sexy and firm, making one feel an urge to reach out and touch. 0

"Hot... hot..." The drunken Ye Chuanze mumbled incoherently. 0

Hearing this, Hongjun couldn't help but frown deeply. The aftereffects of the alcohol were strong; Ye Chuanze had poor tolerance for alcohol and had drunk quite a bit tonight. It seemed that now he was feeling hot due to the alcohol's effects. 0

Seeing his flushed face and his restless tossing about, Hongjun felt a twinge of regret. 0

The wine he had given to Ye Chuanze tonight was brewed anew after he lost a drinking contest to Rahul. He had been unwilling to accept defeat and made stronger wine this time. The alcohol was potent with a strong aftertaste, aiming to feel like fire in the belly with rich flavor. 0

Since Ye Chuanze had never drunk before and had poor tolerance for alcohol, starting off with such strong liquor was certainly overwhelming for him. 0

Hongjun found it difficult to face Ye Chuanze, his brows furrowed tightly for a long time. After a while, he silently turned and left. 0

After some time, he returned, carrying a wooden tray filled with water, on which lay a piece of gauze. 0

Hongjun dipped the gauze in the water and began to wipe Ye Chuanze's face, moving from his forehead to his cheeks, then down to his neck and collarbone, continuing downward. 0

He looked at Ye Chuanze's body wrapped in clothing for a long time before finally reaching out to remove the clothes. The cold, wet gauze was used to wipe down Ye Chuanze's entire body. 0

Ye Chuanze had a great physique; his limbs were long and strong, with well-defined abs and healthy, fair skin. Due to the effects of alcohol, his body had a slight flush, resembling a cooked shrimp. 0

When Hongjun's hand brushed over Ye Chuanze's chest, he shivered all over, and the two rosy points on his chest immediately perked up, letting out a muffled moan. Upon hearing this, Hongjun paused for a moment but quickly regained his composure and continued to calmly wipe down Ye Chuanze's body. 0

It wasn't until dawn that Hongjun stopped his actions. He glanced at the peacefully sleeping Ye Chuanze before turning and leaving with the wooden tray. 0
