"Finally out!"
Outside the dense forest, a vast wilderness stretched out, extending into the distance.
Zuo Zongshou gazed ahead, a look of joy on his face, feeling as if the hard days were finally coming to an end.
"After seven days, we rushed all the way from Lava Hell and have now entered the Azure Spirit Sea. We are finally close to reaching Thunder Abyss," Fang Chen said with a smile.
Since the day Fang Chen broke through to the Alchemy Realm, he suddenly sensed that there was a Supreme Creation belonging to him within Thunder Abyss. He brought Zuo Zongshou along, and the two of them hurried towards Thunder Abyss without stopping.
However, as Thunder Abyss was deeper within the Colorful Sacred Realm and close to the core Heritage Site, it was not near Lava Hell. Even the nearest route required traversing through seven forbidden areas, including the wood-element forbidden area known as Azure Spirit Sea.
Although it had "sea" in its name, Azure Spirit Sea was not truly a body of water. Instead, it was an expanse filled with lush, towering trees that seemed to reach the sky. This ocean of trees did not signify safety. Within Azure Spirit Sea, aside from some troublesome beasts, what was most feared were the ancient trees that had cultivated into spirits. These spirit trees were adept at disguise and extremely powerful; some could even devour Alchemy Realm warriors if they were not careful, completely turning them into nourishment.
Of course, with their immense Divine Consciousness, Fang Chen and Zuo Zongshou proceeded cautiously and managed to avoid danger, though it took them an entire week.
"The Thunder Abyss is just beyond this wasteland," Zuo Zongshou murmured softly, his eyes sparkling with brilliant light.
Although he had entered the Colorful Sacred Realm once before, this was his second time. However, during his previous visit, he had never ventured into either the core Heritage Site or Thunder Abyss because he knew his strength was insufficient to explore alone. Now, he was not alone; he had such a Freak by his side.
Throughout history, countless Heavenly Pride individuals who rose successfully at the Seven Sects Conference shared a similar experience: they had all ventured into Thunder Abyss. A small number succeeded in breaking into the Heritage Site, while others may not have succeeded but still managed to retreat safely and gained considerable benefits within Thunder Abyss. Zuo Zongshou was eager to see what kind of brilliance Fang Chen's Freak abilities would shine here.
"Let's go; I can feel the strong thunderous aura in the air," Fang Chen said with a smile as he pressed his lips together.
"Let's go!"
An hour later.
A torrential downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning revealed a muddy swamp area beyond the wilderness.
At a glance, apart from the uneven mountains, there were various ponds, waterholes, and swamps.
"Crack!" Strikes of blue lightning accompanied by thunderous roars echoed from various spots in the muddy areas of the ponds, deafening.
"Is this the Thunder Abyss?" Fang Chen thought as he scanned the surroundings.
He had originally assumed that since it was called the Thunder Abyss, this place filled with Frenzy Thunder Power would manifest as an abyss. However, it was clear that this location was far from any abyss.
"Master, this should be the place," Zuo Zongshou said softly, sensing the pervasive Frenzy aura around them. Although he had not entered the Thunder Abyss before, he had heard many things about it. Therefore, after a brief analysis, he confirmed it.
"The Thunder Abyss belongs to my Supreme Creation, Fang Chen," Fang Chen said with a light chuckle.
Without any hesitation, he stepped into what could be considered the most lethal area within the Colorful Sacred Realm.
Zuo Zongshou followed behind him.
The Thunder Abyss, aside from some terrifying thunder-type beasts, also had extremely harsh weather. Rainstorms and thunderclaps occurred frequently, and in some areas, a terrifying Lightning Flash hung overhead year-round, resembling a thunderous formation.
In addition to that, there were ponds and swamps scattered throughout the region; a careless step could lead one to sink deep into them. Such places often harbored powerful beasts lurking nearby.
As Fang Chen and Zuo Zongshou made their way through, they rarely found a dry spot and seldom encountered moments without rain or thunder.
As time passed, a faint yellow shield gradually enveloped Zuo Zongshou. This shield was formed from the Dan Qi within his body, wrapping around him like a protective garment. The lightning strikes from above were neutralized by the Dan Qi shield and did not pose any real threat to the martial artist.
Unlike when they first entered the Thunder Abyss, as they moved deeper into it, the surrounding Thunder Power became increasingly Frenzy and dense.
At first, with quick reflexes and agile movements, they could dodge the occasional lightning strikes falling from above. However, now it was often impossible to evade them. The sheer number of lightning strikes coming from all directions made it difficult to escape; in such circumstances, no amount of quick reflexes would help—they could only endure!
However, unlike the protective barrier of Dan Qi surrounding Zuo Zongshou, Fang Chen was exposed to the lightning strikes of Frenzy, with no means to block the electricity. He allowed the bolts that occasionally descended from the sky to strike him.
