Ma Yichen shouted after Chen Haoxuan, "Hey, where are you going? Can I come with you?"
"I'm going home," Chen Haoxuan replied without looking back.
Ma Yichen wanted to follow him but felt embarrassed to say anything since Chen Haoxuan had already walked far away.
Chen Haoxuan drove his BMW back to Chen Family Village and parked in front of Chen Yina's house. He got out to check on the progress of his villa. The villa was completed and currently undergoing renovations; it should be finished in a few days.
Wang Long's construction company had designers, and Chen Haoxuan asked the designer to help him buy furniture. His requirements for the furniture were not high; he just wanted it to look expensive. In fact, Chen Haoxuan mainly wanted to impress others and hoped that word would reach Chen Haorong and the others about his wealth exceeding a million.
After checking his room, Chen Haoxuan went to Chen Yina's house and saw Li Ping washing vegetables in the yard. He called out, "Auntie, I'm back."
Li Ping looked up and saw Chen Haoxuan. She immediately stood up, moved a stool in front of him, and smiled, saying, "Please sit."
After Chen Haoxuan sat down, he asked, "Auntie, where's Uncle? I haven't seen him."
"Oh! He went to buy bamboo early this morning. He should be back soon!" Li Ping replied.
"Oh, then I'll go out for a walk and come back later," Chen Haoxuan said with a smile. He planned to have lunch at Li Ping's place but didn't mention it because he knew that thoughtful Li Ping would surely prepare an extra portion for him.
Chen Haoxuan stepped outside and wandered around Chen Family Village. Every villager he encountered greeted him with a smile. The children in the village especially adored Chen Haoxuan because he often bought them snacks. This time was no different; as he passed a small shop, he encountered a group of children playing. Upon seeing him, they rushed over excitedly, all shouting, "Brother Xuan! Brother Xuan! You're back!"
"Are you all missing my candies?" Chen Haoxuan smiled at the children surrounding him. He had earned quite a bit from their parents and didn't mind spending some on candies for them.
"Oh yay, Brother Xuan is giving out candies again!" The children jumped up joyfully around him.
In the distance, a few elderly men playing chess noticed Chen Haoxuan giving out candies to the children and remarked, "This Xuan is truly kind-hearted and does business honestly. What a good kid! I don't understand why Li Xin's family abandoned him."
"Isn't it because Xuan was foolish back then?" one elder replied.
"I don't think Xuan was foolish at all. Did you see how he didn't cry when his family abandoned him? He insisted on continuing his studies because he knew that education would lead to opportunities. And despite having no one to help him, he managed to work and study at the same time. Can just anyone do that? Look at our Chen Family Village; it's so big, yet apart from Xuan and Nana, no one else has been able to get into college. That proves Xuan has never been foolish," another elder chimed in.
"Then why was he so naive before?"
"I think it was because he was scared by Li Xin and the others. You should know that they used to bully Xuan..." As the elders discussed Chen Haoxuan, they completely forgot about their chess game.
Chen Haoxuan walked into the convenience store with a group of children. He said to the store's Boss, "Boss, help me get a dozen pounds of candy."
"Sure thing!" the Boss replied happily. He loved doing business with Chen Haoxuan because he always bought in large quantities without hesitation.
As Chen Haoxuan was reaching for his wallet, he suddenly realized he had forgotten it and left it in the car. Feeling embarrassed, he said to the Boss, "Um, sorry, I forgot my wallet in the car. Just wait a moment; I'll go get it."
The Boss waved his hand dismissively and said, "No problem, just take it now and pay me back in a few days." Chen Haoxuan was a wealthy man from Chen Family Village, driving a BMW and living in a villa, so the Boss wasn't worried about him defaulting on payment.
"Thank you! I'll bring you the money this afternoon," Chen Haoxuan replied gratefully.
With a large bag of candy in hand, he stepped outside and told the children gathered around him, "Line up! No candy for those who don't line up." He wanted to ensure fairness by distributing the candy one by one.

So today, he planned to have them intercept Chen Yuebin on the road. To ensure the thugs took it seriously, he informed them that Chen Yuebin was carrying a lot of cash and that they could also steal the Dongfeng Truck hired by Chen Haoxuan.
