Behind Chen Haoxuan, Yang Lin and the others were stunned. They considered themselves friends with Chen Haoxuan, but it was their first time witnessing such arrogance from him. Yang Lin felt a bit awkward; he had once warned Zhu Tian in front of Chen Haoxuan not to bully him, but now it seemed that Chen Haoxuan didn't even regard Zhu Tian at all. Before Zhu Tian could finish his sentence, Chen Haoxuan made his move. To be honest, Chen Haoxuan hated Zhu Tian deeply. He recalled how Zhu Tian had bullied him every day in the past and had even dragged him into the bathroom to torment him several times. Therefore, Chen Haoxuan showed no mercy; he punched Zhu Tian squarely in the face, and his speed was so fast that Zhu Tian didn't even have time to dodge.
Zhu Tian staggered back two steps while covering his face. Chen Haoxuan wasn't done with him yet; he quickly stepped forward, jumped, spun his body, and swept his right leg. With a loud thud, he struck Zhu Tian's back, forcing him tightly against the wall.
"Wow, a martial arts master?" Yang Lin exclaimed in surprise. He never expected Chen Haoxuan to be so skilled and fast. Yang Lin felt a surge of excitement and wanted to challenge Chen Haoxuan to see who was stronger.
"Is this really the pathetic Chen Haoxuan? He can charm girls, carve art pieces, is eloquent, and has impressive skills. He doesn't look like a loser at all! Why did everyone say he was useless before?" Ma Yichen thought in astonishment.
"Are you going to kneel or not?" Chen Haoxuan coldly asked Zhu Tian.
Zhu Tian's lackeys leaned against the wall, too scared to move. They had all been beaten by Chen Haoxuan before; just thinking about those moments made their courage vanish without a trace.
The girl who had just been teased by Zhu Tian didn't leave; she stood where she was, looking at Chen Haoxuan with surprise. She felt sweet inside and a sense of happiness. She had been rescued by someone very handsome—so handsome that she was smitten. She believed she had turned misfortune into fortune; if it weren't for Zhu Tian teasing her, she might never have met someone as attractive as Chen Haoxuan.
At that moment, Zhu Tian wanted to faint, but since Chen Haoxuan didn't hit hard enough and he lacked the courage to slam himself against the wall, he cried out to Chen Haoxuan with a whimper: "Xuan Ge, I'll give you RMB if you let me go this time." If they were somewhere private, Zhu Tian might have knelt down, but here at school with so many people watching—if he knelt today, he would lose all face at New City University.
"Are you kidding me? Do you think I'm a beggar? You think one thousand is enough to buy me off?" Chen Haoxuan said as he slapped Zhu Tian again.
With a thud, Zhu Tian knelt down. If this humiliation continued, he felt he would lose even more face, so he simply decided to kneel.
"Remember my words, don't let me see you again. If I do, I'll hit you every time. Now get lost," Chen Haoxuan shouted at Zhu Tian.
Upon hearing Chen Haoxuan's words, Zhu Tian immediately scrambled away. Although he hadn't been humiliated by Chen Haoxuan today, he still felt fortunate because Chen Haoxuan didn't smash his head like last time.
After Zhu Tian fled with his lackeys, Yang Lin gave Chen Haoxuan a thumbs up and said with a smile, "Impressive! I didn't expect you to be even tougher than me. If it were me making Zhu Tian kneel, he would definitely fight back. But you—when you hit Zhu Tian, he didn't dare to retaliate; when you made him kneel, he didn't dare to resist. "Haoxuan, when did you become so formidable?" Ma Yichen asked curiously. He had known Chen Haoxuan for a long time, ever since Chen Haoxuan first arrived at New City University. Back then, Chen Haoxuan was a celebrity; he had been the top of the Campus Heartthrob list until Chen Haoxuan came along and took that title from him. "Let's go back and continue drinking!" Chen Haoxuan replied lightly. His mood wasn't great because Zhu Tian reminded him of unhappy times in the past.
Just as Chen Haoxuan was about to leave, the girl who had just been teased by Zhu Tian suddenly ran up to him and shyly said, "Thank you for saving me."
"You're welcome; it's the least I could do. If Zhu Tian dares to tease you again next time, just let me know and I'll take care of him," Chen Haoxuan joked.
"Um, thank you. So—could you tell me your name?" the girl asked shyly.
Before Chen Haoxuan could respond, Yang Lin jumped in and said with a laugh, "You don't know him? He's our Campus Heartthrob at New City University—Chen Haoxuan! From the way you're blushing, it seems like you've taken a liking to him!"
"N-no! I just wanted to know who saved me," the girl said, looking down shyly.
"Why not offer yourself in gratitude?" Ma Yichen teased from the side.
"You all better stop messing around, or do you want me to teach you a lesson!" Chen Haoxuan exclaimed, feeling both amused and exasperated as he shouted at Yang Lin and the others.
Afterward, Chen Haoxuan and his friends returned to the lawn to continue drinking and chatting. To explain why he had become so skilled, Chen Haoxuan spun a little story. Yang Lin and the others listened in admiration as Chen Haoxuan claimed that he had taught himself martial arts to avoid being bullied.
Yang Lin, excited, issued a challenge to Chen Haoxuan, saying he wanted to see whether his Karate skills were superior to Chen Haoxuan's martial arts.
Chen Haoxuan smiled without responding. He believed that martial arts were the most genuine fighting techniques, while other martial arts were nonsense. As for Karate, it was merely flashy moves without substance.
Perhaps due to the influence of alcohol, Chen Haoxuan eventually agreed to Yang Lin's challenge. They decided to head to the back woods of the school, a place rarely visited by students due to its overgrown weeds and dense trees. However, it was a favorite spot for those who enjoyed outdoor antics (you know what I mean).
Ma Yichen and Liu Junfeng each held a bottle of beer, sitting on the ground as they watched Chen Haoxuan and Yang Lin prepare for their match.
Yang Lin assumed a defensive Karate stance and called out to Chen Haoxuan, "Come on! Let me see what your self-taught martial arts can do."
"Just be careful; my martial arts rely on speed and precision to take down my opponent," Chen Haoxuan replied with a smile, feeling as if he had returned to the military camp to spar with fellow soldiers.
