“Xuan, did it just rain?” Zhou Xiang asked Chen Haoxuan with a smile.
“Boss Zhou, are you drunk? This is an open area; if it had rained, wouldn't your clothes be wet?” Chen Haoxuan replied with a laugh. He felt a bit dizzy and, noticing Zhou Xiang's flushed face, thought he was just talking nonsense due to being intoxicated.
“Just take a look at your sleeves,” Zhou Xiang said with a grin.
As soon as Zhou Xiang finished speaking, Hua Tianyu and the others turned to look at Chen Haoxuan's sleeves. Hua Lingwei curiously asked Chen Haoxuan, “Chen Haoxuan, why are your sleeves wet?”
Jiang Dong and Mao Yipeng, who were following behind Chen Haoxuan, smiled silently. Zhou Xiang and Hua Tianyu, being shrewd businessmen, looked at Chen Haoxuan with amused expressions. They were all involved in somewhat shady dealings and often drank while negotiating business. To avoid getting confused during discussions, they had their tricks—like hiring drinking companions or spilling drinks on the ground, or like Chen Haoxuan, spitting the drink onto their sleeves. So they all understood why Chen Haoxuan's sleeves were dripping.
Chen Haoxuan looked down at his sleeves and saw the droplets. He couldn't help but laugh awkwardly. “Boss Zhou, please don't laugh at me. I had no choice but to do this; I think you all must have done something similar before, right?”
“We do it often, but not as exaggerated as you. Come on, sit down and eat something! It will be better for your stomach,” Zhou Xiang said with concern.
Zhou Kexin and Hua Lingwei were puzzled; they couldn't understand what Chen Haoxuan was talking about. Zhou Kexin asked him, “Haoxuan, what are you all discussing?”
Chen Haoxuan smiled and explained, “They are laughing at me for cheating. I haven't been drinking with anyone; I've been spitting the drink into my sleeves. With so much liquid in my sleeves, they started dripping.”
“Haoxuan, you're really clever,” Zhou Kexin said affectionately to Chen Haoxuan.
Chen Haoxuan raised his glass and said to Zhou Xiang and the others, “I didn't drink anything just now, but this time I will definitely drink. Here’s to everyone; let’s toast!” After saying that, he downed his drink in one go.
In Chen Family Village, apart from the drying yard, there was not a single person in sight, making the streets of the village very quiet. "Don’t worry, Dad. I won’t let him off the hook. When the opportunity arises, I’ll make him pay dearly," Chen Haorong said with a grim expression.
"Yes, you must find a way to take him down," Chen Zhenghao replied coldly, increasingly regretting that he hadn’t dealt with Chen Haoxuan when he was younger.
Li Xin suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! I’ve thought of something good! Haorong, you must find a way to get rid of that little brat. Think about it—he has no other relatives besides us. Chen Haorong was very confident in his ability to kill Chen Haoxuan because he planned to hire ruthless assassins; no matter how capable Chen Haoxuan was, he would surely die.
