Not seeing Chen Yina around, Chen Haoxuan felt relieved. He knew that the gang hadn't captured her. As he saw the gang rushing towards him, he pulled out a handgun from his waist and pointed it at them, shouting loudly, "Don't move! If anyone moves, I'll kill them." The handgun belonged to a foolish thug he had encountered at the intersection. Chen Haoxuan had more than one gun; when he returned earlier, he had taken another one, hidden behind his waist with a belt, and there was still another one he didn't want to use just yet.
The thugs froze when they saw Chen Haoxuan pull out a gun. They certainly didn't want to gamble with their lives; a gun could take your life with just a light pull of the trigger.
Seeing his men hesitate, Black Heart shouted at them, "You cowards! He has a gun— but does he dare to shoot? Don't just stand there! Go grab Chen Haoxuan! If we catch him, we won't have to worry for the rest of our lives."
After saying this, Black Heart quickly reached into his jacket where he had hidden a gun. Just as he pulled it out and aimed it at Chen Haoxuan, three gunshots rang out. One bullet struck Black Heart's wrist, causing him pain and making him drop the gun. The two thugs running in front were shot in their right knees by Chen Haoxuan and fell to the ground five meters away from him, screaming in agony.
"Who else dares to try?" Chen Haoxuan shouted angrily.
Black Heart and his gang stood frozen in place, too scared to move.
Chen Haoxuan then said, "Lin Hao, call the police."
"Yes, Boss," Lin Hao replied as he took out his phone and dialed 110.
Black Heart realized things were going south. His mind raced as he thought of an escape plan. Just then, he saw Mosquito appear behind Chen Haoxuan with three others. An idea struck him; a wicked smile crept across his face as he suddenly shouted at Mosquito behind Chen Haoxuan, "Mosquito, grab him!"
After saying this, Black Heart quickly ran into a nearby alley. He underestimated Chen Haoxuan; he thought Chen Haoxuan would turn around and shoot at Mosquito. To his surprise, Chen Haoxuan didn’t even glance back but shot at him as he tried to flee. Fortunately, the bullet didn’t hit any vital areas but struck him in the stomach.
Chen Haoxuan pulled out another handgun and fired four consecutive shots. Mosquito and his three thugs all knelt on the ground. "Anyone who dares to move again will find no mercy from me; I’ll send them to meet the King of Hell," Chen Haoxuan roared.
Afterward, he turned to Li Jun and said, "Li Jun, go inside and get some rope to tie these people up." Although Lin Hao had already called the police, who knew when they would arrive? For safety's sake, he decided to bind all these thugs with rope.
Chen Haoxuan initially wanted to pursue the troublemaker, but he was worried about Lin Hao and his group. He feared that they wouldn't be able to handle the dozen or so thugs. If Lin Hao and his team went after the troublemaker, Chen Haoxuan was also concerned that the troublemaker might still have a gun. For safety reasons, Chen Haoxuan decided that revenge could wait.
Li Jun went inside to find some rope, but before he could start tying up the thugs, the police arrived. This time, Police Chief Li De personally led the team, armed with handguns and accompanied by fully equipped SWAT officers. The large show of force was due to Lin Hao mentioning during his call to the police that the enemy had firearms.
"Handcuff them all," Li De commanded with a wave of his hand to his subordinates.
Li De approached Chen Haoxuan and politely asked, "Boss Chen, what’s going on here?"
"Chief, it’s like this: I drove out early this morning to buy groceries. When I was passing through an intersection, a person suddenly rushed out from the trees by the roadside. I slammed on the brakes and didn’t hit him, but he fell to the ground. Out of curiosity, I got out of the car to take a look. As soon as I approached him, he suddenly stood up and pointed a phone at my head. Then two vans and three motorcycles arrived with over ten people getting out; they looked like thugs.
It was then I realized they intended to kidnap me and force me to give them all my money. These two guns in my hands belong to them; there’s another one in front—it's from their leader, who managed to escape when I wasn’t paying attention," Chen Haoxuan explained.
"Big trees attract the wind!" Li De joked.
"It’s not about big trees attracting wind; it’s because my strength isn’t enough that they dared to mess with me. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they go after Zhou Xiang and his group? They fear Zhou Xiang's strength," Chen Haoxuan replied.
"Boss Chen, please come with us for an investigation so we can catch the culprits as soon as possible," Li De said politely.
"Sure, but wait a moment. I’ll go to my room and use my computer to draw a picture of their leader; that way it will be easier for you to find him," Chen Haoxuan said.
"Great! I didn’t expect you had such talent. May I join you to see how you create the image?" Li De smiled.
"Of course," Chen Haoxuan replied.
"Lin Hao, Li Jun, you two go to New City University to pick Nana up," Chen Haoxuan said to Lin Hao and the others before taking Li De to his residence.
Back at his place, Chen Haoxuan brought his laptop to the living room and sat on the sofa to create an image. He gradually drew the appearance of Black Heart using computer graphic software. Once he had completely finished the drawing, Li De, sitting beside him, exclaimed in surprise, "Black Heart, he's the leader of the Black Heart Gang. He's called Black Heart because of his wicked nature."
"Oh, it's good that you know him. Quickly take someone to his hideout and capture him! Otherwise, he might escape," Chen Haoxuan instructed Li De.
"Okay, I'll send someone to Black Heart's hideout right now," Li De replied as he stood up.
New City University was very close to Chen Haoxuan's residence, so Lin Hao and the others quickly returned with Chen Yina. As soon as they arrived, Chen Yina saw Chen Haoxuan and couldn't help but burst into tears. She was just a country girl and had never witnessed such terrifying events; coupled with her previous experience, she was even more frightened.
"Don't cry, don't cry. It's all over now; there's no need to cry!" Chen Haoxuan gently stroked Chen Yina's hair.
"Brother Xuan, I was so scared just now. I thought I would never see you again," Chen Yina said with a sob as she leaned against Chen Haoxuan.
"Don't worry. If they dare to scare my Nana, I won't let them get away with it," Chen Haoxuan said firmly.
