Chen Xiumin felt that today was the happiest day of her life—wearing beautiful clothes, enjoying delicious food, playing fun games, and shopping with her favorite Brother Xuan. She had dreamt that just as Chen Haoxuan leaned in to kiss her, he startled her awake.
She felt both shy and regretful, thinking that if Chen Haoxuan had woken her up a little later, she could have kissed him.
"Xuan... Brother Xuan..." Chen Xiumin called out hesitantly.
Seeing Chen Xiumin's flushed cheeks, Chen Haoxuan could guess what she had just been thinking. He sighed helplessly in his heart, "Sigh... Kids these days develop so early; at just 12 years old, she already knows about wanting a man."
To avoid making Chen Xiumin feel awkward, he pretended not to know what she was thinking and smiled as he asked, "Hmm, is there something you need?"
"I... I..." Chen Xiumin lowered her head, nervously rubbing the hem of her skirt as if she wanted to wear it out.
"What is it? Just say it; as long as you tell me, Brother Xuan will definitely help you," Chen Haoxuan said readily.
Unbeknownst to him, his words encouraged Chen Xiumin. She lifted her head, her shy gaze meeting his as she said softly, "Brother Xuan, I don't know why I keep thinking of you. Do you think I'm sick?"
"Uh..." Chen Haoxuan was speechless. Having lived two lives, he understood matters of the heart well. He knew that Chen Xiumin had truly fallen for him; only someone deeply in love would uncontrollably think of the person they loved.
"Xiumin, listen to Brother Xuan. From now on, focus more on your studies and don't think about other things, okay?" Chen Haoxuan said seriously.
Chen Xiumin looked adorable as she replied, "But... but Brother Xuan isn't just anything! Brother Xuan is a person, a handsome guy."
Chen Haoxuan couldn't help but laugh and said, "Yes, yes, Brother Xuan is not just anything..." Realizing his mistake, he explained, "That was a slip of the tongue. What I meant was that you're right; I am a person. You might have misunderstood my meaning earlier. What I meant was that it's best not to think about matters of the heart for now, understand?"
"Why? Is it wrong to think about Brother Xuan?" Chen Xiumin asked curiously.

Chen Xiumin noticed the sweat on Chen Haoxuan's forehead and asked with concern, "Brother Xuan, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, nothing. I just feel a bit hot," Chen Haoxuan awkwardly replied. How could he admit that he was thinking about doing something bad?
"Brother Xuan, do you like Xiao Min or not?" Chen Xiumin pouted and asked.
"Do you think I don't like you?" Chen Haoxuan retorted.
"You like me, but I feel that your liking me is different from how you like Sister Nana. I want you to like me the way you like Sister Nana," Chen Xiumin said playfully.
"It seems she really can distinguish what love is. This is bad; if her parents find out, they might chop me up," Chen Haoxuan thought anxiously.
"She is my girlfriend, so she is different from you, understand?" Chen Haoxuan said with a bitter face.
"I know! I heard from the older brothers in the village that it's normal for boys to have girlfriends now. Usually, those relationships when young don't lead to marriage," Chen Xiumin said seriously.
